the feeling of in love is wonderful and the way dev and sona are reveling in love it can happen only wen someone experience something for the first time and with the belief that everything is rosy with no presence of thorns...
sonakshi has always believed that love story is akin to fairytale...where prince comes on horseback and takes away his princess to a faraway land and they live happily ever after...this happily ever after gvs us the impression that when two ppl r in love only one emotion exists and that is happiness and other emotions like pain, sadness can never find the address of these ppl...
for dev he never had the time and inclination to explore the world of love...for him his mother, sisters and business were his world...today dev has fallen in love and the lessons of love he has received is from sona for whom love is like a rainbow...
for ppl who believe in fairytale kind of love for them love means only the company of each other and everything else will fall in place without any effort...but that is not true...life is not fairytale...
today dev literally means it when he says he wants her in front of his eyes 24*7 hours...for that he is bunking office, going late for meetings, and so on...
eating mirchi, dancing in the rain, missing her every moment...this was not dev but then he never tasted love before...
love is not only randomly feeling the sense of love...love also means responsibilities, trust and sharing...while dev is currently ignoring his work and even gving up all the time he used to spend with ishwari to be with sona...and sona expecting dev to oblige her all silly requests like eating mirchi...devakshi need to go beyond this aspect of love...
this is not love in real life...maybe in fairytales but not in real life...
but who is there to guide them...bose family is no doubt a wonderful family and everyone is free with each other...but r they truly friends of each other who can share every emotion with each other...asha's only concern is her novel while it is obvious she has no writing skills, bijoy's only task is to tease his son or romance with wife...elena and sourav r gud frnds of sona but they r too frivolous to understand and advice sona about the complexities of love and relationship...
and the less said about dixit family the better...each one is cocooned in their own world...at least sona has the luxury of sharing her happiness with elena and sourav...dev does not even hv that...in spite of his unconditional love for his family he has noone to share his special feelings, his happiness, his concerns...
yes he shares his feelings with ishwari but those feelings r only concerns about his sisters or ishwari herself...
today for the first time he is dreaming for himself, wishing for himself and smiling for himself,,,,but today he cannot confide in ishwari...he knows ishwari will lend her ear for everything he says but the condition is that his topic shud be concern about others...but today he knows he cannot share his feelings for sona with ishwari...
so, dev and sona r like two children first time embarking on the ship of love...two inexperienced ppl for whom love is fairytale forgetting they r characters of the real world and she is no cinderella and he is no prince whose kiss wud turn her into a princess...
so dev and sona widout any guidance have no inkling about dos and donts of love...dev tries to share his dilemma regarding neha with sona but sona refuses to see the seriousness of it and grumbles that dev gvs more importance to financial status of a person and therefore she questions his feeling towards her...was that right...for one, there is huge difference between a boy being poor and a girl being poor...neha has to go and live in ranveer's house but dev will not hv to go and live in sona's house...
but that is also not the point...dev wanted to share his concern with her and she walks away over a petty issue...
and next wat we see...dev filled with guilt goes after her and waits for her in the rain for 2 hours...
a very clear scenario of two very inexperienced ppl in love...they hv no friends, no family support who will tell them love is not only spending time with each other or feeling guilt for every small thing...
love is beyond that...love is trust and understanding...love is not about gifting diamonds or love is not about compensating if gift is taken by someone else...
sona needs to learn that dev has his own way of loving her and she shud revel in that and similarly dev shud learn that eating mirchi or waiting in the rain r not the formula of love...
in spite of all these...wat dev is doing today is not a change of his character...he was always like this...wen he loves someone he loses the sense of right and wrong only so that he can secure the best things for that person...to recruit the best nutritionist for his mom he did things like spoiling sona's reputation and even blacklisting her so that she cannot get jobs in other hospitals...
so how come wen the same dev is doing crazy things for sona there r criticisms that this was not expected from dev...for ishwari he still had some reasons to love her crazily because she is his mother, brought him up in adverse situations, and he worships her...
but sona is his own choice of life partner...he loves her and this is not only about being in love for the first time but also sona is someone whom he wants only for himself which is again a first time since he has never wanted anything solely for himself...
so dev's possessiveness, craziness everything is only an extension of his character...if he can be crazy about his family and mom...then how come the same level of craziness he cant show for sona...
i dont see any inconsistency in dev's character but like i already said dev and sona r like two ppl in love who relate love with fairytales and roses widout thorns...so they need to wake up and learn that they r living in the real world where love is roses filled with thorns...
