We have seen stories on television before where the mother sacrifices for her son and when he grows up, she gets possessive for him. What is new in this show?
The mother is not saying all the time that she has sacrificed for her son. She has done all that and they are a thing of the past. She never mentions them to anyone. It's the story of a simple mother. It's just that there is an unspoken bond between Dev (Shaheer Sheikh) and his mother. The bond has strengthened over the time due to the struggles both of them have faced in life together. Even if there are no struggles, mothers still tends to get insecure. It's just that the kids at times, do not understand this fact. Here, Dev is a very sensitive kid. And Dev's sensitivity, does not allow him to disobey his mother's wishes.
The teaser showed that the mother does not like Dr.Sonakshi. Why is it that way? Is there any twist?
The question here should be - why does the mother not like any girl. It is about insecurity. And many a times, the mother is unknowingly doing it but can't accept the fact. It's not that the mother feels Dev does not love her. But she is pretty shaken up by the insecurity and just can't accept the fact that she is insecure. The whole story is about the journey from being a good mother to a mother-in-law. And it is in this journey that she will realise many factors.
Supriyaji, usually the whole scene is such that the mother dreams of his son's marriage and wishes to see him settle down. Then why this insecurity factor?
I will say there definitely is insecurity even then. It doesn't matter whether there is love between the mother and son or not. I myself have experienced it.
So will there be a marriage track or no?
Definitely. Why not?
The promos show you to be a bit cold towards the girl. And you have always played sweet roles. How difficult was it for you to essay a shade like that?
I had never done such a role before. That is why it is a challenging role for me. Because she is not a vamp or a conniving woman. But her behaviour is influenced by the fact that she is insecure. When she will look back and analyse her behaviour, she would not believe herself. Basically, there is a need to get back her positivity and that will happen through Dr.Sonakshi (Erica Fernandes).

What is so special about Beyond Dreams' new show Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi?
Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi is an important show for us as a production house. It's a story very close to my heart. It's about a mother-son-daughter in law story, yet not a saas bahu show. We are telling the story against a very realistic setting. Our characters are very real, and so are their emotions and the setting.
