Devakshi FF: After All This Time. (Prologu and chapter 1 updated!)

Hello people.
Hi, I am Palak and I am relatively new to the forum when it comes to posting stuff. Last three episodes of KRPKAB have totally bowled me, as I am sure it might have clean bowled you all too. Most of us are dead after the cutest and realistic confession, ever. (Greetings to all of you from heaven. 😆 )
Anyway, Dev and Sonakshi are the most adorable couple as of now. And I have always had a huge crush on Shaheer since Navya days. (He was honestly my first crush, eep)
So, Imaginations have really gone wild now, thus, I couldn't help but write on this new sizzling couple. God, don't they just give us too much of feels? And half an hour seems really less, hence just could not stop myself from writing over them.
A little info, though, this fanfiction is going to have no similar background from the show. Only the characters are inspired from it, not any of their lives as depicted in the show.
I really hope you guys like it.

Prologue.
Her fingers tug on his shirt buttons.
His mouth on hers, fulfilling a thirst that only she could fuel down.
It all ended abruptly when Dev pulled himself apart from her. Holding her tiny hands in his big ones, stopping her fingers to open his buttons which she might as well tear from her frustration to feel his skin that his shirt so perfectly hid beneath itself.
Dev and Sonakshi were in a steady relationship for three years now and had grown really well together. Until now. The ordeals were beginning because Dev had earned a full scholarship to further study business in London. As much as Sonakshi was happy, she was also gloomy. She was still in her last year of Bachelor in Arts. Staying away from Dev, in a different time zone was going to be really tough. Yet, she was prepared to face it.
But, what she wasn't prepared for was Dev's next words that crashed her world, as much as it crumbled his own.
"I want to break up, Shona."

Chapter 1.
Six years later.

"Sir, today is your college's reunion. Are you sure you are going to go?" Tina, Dev's secretary asked h. She seemed so baffled with the idea of her boss going to a party, which wasn't even remotely related to business. Also, over that, he cancelled his important meetings!
"Tina." Dev let out an exaggerated sigh.
She shrugged and left him alone.
Dev looked in a certain turmoil.
She'd be there.
His shona.
Sonakshi.
And, it was only because of her that he was bothering to go in a reunion party, he otherwise had no interest in.
Sonakshi bose, the first and the last girl he ever loved and ever probably will.
After the breakup, which he knew hurt her ten folds more than it hurt him, he had no idea or inkling about Sonakshi's life. He'd not be so surprised to know that she hates him.
He broke her heart.
And never tried to mend it again.
There was a lot of justification and explanations for what he did. But the fact would stay erected that he left her. He hurt her and let go of her and the guilt of it was so much that it kept him awake in nights even till date.
They say love hurts. He knew better of it. Love does not hurt. It is an innocent, nave feeling. People hurt. And there was nothing he could do about it.
Letting go of her, for his dreams was not as worthy. Because, even though his life was just as exactly as he envisioned it. It was still empty without her. And it'd always be so.
What if after going to reunion party, he still would not find her? What after that then? He often wondered about that.
Where had this girl disappeared that no matter how much he tried, no matter how many ways he implemented to find her, he got nothing but disappointment.
Until now.
"Sir." It was Tina again.
He was thoroughly frustrated with her interruption, time and again.
"This file.. Um, Atul asked me to deliver it to you asap." Tina looked uncomfortable. And she never looked like that. Tina, if anything, was a single woman that Dev had never seen flustered. Even in biggest of mess.
"Keep it and leave, Tina." Dev did not mean to be rude to her, but he was not in best of his moods.
Once she left, he picked the dark blue file and the paper slip on the top of it read, Sonakshi Bose.
It freaked him out.
He had asked Atul, his right hand man, to find out about her and even after three months he could not trace much until now.
Dev's face felt hot with anticipation.
What if it read something he'd not like? Something nasty? Something.. That could change his life in a way that it'd be tough to go back to what really ever was?
And sure it did.
The file and its content altered his life for forever.
