Thanks for the recommendations Annx (sorry don't know your real name). I am looking for other options since they have decided to ruin KCL. The forum has become silent and the serial lackluster since FR has joined and the Shuklas are back in full force. I will try and continue to watch in the hope that it improves in the days to come but if they want to focus on FR then I am sorry I am out. The guy is a wooden actor with only one expression on his face and constantly whines for Krishna. This was such a cool serial and is now meandering into nothingness...šŸ˜’

Thanks for the update Suvi. I still don’t understand what was the need to bring Radhey backand I don’t want to keep guessing who planted this imposter or is he the real Radhey😬. It’s going round and round like merry go roundšŸ™ƒ.

So I have a few thoughts on Sunaina I’d like to put across…

I understand that people are all angry at her - angry might be a softer word but I’d like to stick to angry… They say (and I was one of them till I processed the whole situation) that her character has been ruined. But has it really?

I’m not too sure. What we fail to understand is that a character shows different aspects in different situations - forget characters, even real people sometimes act ā€˜out of character’ when situations arise. Even the best of the characters have done things the fans could not even fathom. Until book 3 no one could even imagine Hermoine could be violent, or until the last book, no one could fathom that Ron was capable of leaving Harry or that Snape was capable of such a big sacrifice… It took 22 movies to give us an aspect of iron man - I at least never thought was probable. But were these characters destroyed, or playing out of character - NO! There had never been a situation where these characters had to act in such a manner before - so to us, it was out of character but it really wasn’t.

Coming back to Sunaina - We’ve known Sunaina to be a warm person, kind and compassionate - but of course, she is and will always remain a mother. She also has her own insecurities. Her world is her kids and she will do anything to protect them… And she did. While protecting her son, she ended up making horrible mistakes - something that has angered a lot of people…

But that made me wonder too. Why? Why did a mother’s simple actions be such a big deal? Why was it not looked like a mother saving her son - but as a mother standing against her daughter in law? Why were people (me included) expecting Sunaina to stand by Krishna against all odds? Because if this was a real-world situation - no one would have pointed fingers at Sunaina - because that’s how real mother in laws are - aren’t they?

The answer that came to me was pretty interesting. The fingers were pointed at Sunaina because the bar of a mother in law has been set pretty high by ITV. If Ishita and Tulsi can kill their own sons just for their daughter in laws, or every mother in law chooses her daughter in law over their son - well why doesn’t Sunaina… That’s the only answer I get.

Because whatever Sunaina did, was not out of character or unreal. That is how the real world works! I am not saying what she did was right… She did what probably any mother would’ve done - of course, she did a tad bit more but that was for drama!

I’ve made my peace with Sunaina.

Aneeqa, you have always been wonderful at exploring Sunaina’s character! Here’s my take on Sunaina: I’m unhappy with her actions, but I don’t believe the writers ruined her character. Her actions are consistent with the character they created - from the beginning, she had been weak and leaned on Veer heavily for support. When she felt that support about to be taken away, she reacted. She didn’t think about anyone else other than her son. Yes, we can call that selfish, but selfishness is also a sign of weakness.

You have an excellent point about ITV setting unrealistically high expectations for mother in laws. After all, which mothers would kill their own sons? However, I disagree slightly that Sunaina’s actions fit that mold. In this case, Veer was not acting dishonorably. He wanted to own up to his crime. Yes, he wanted to get Krishna out of jail, but not by lying and taking the crime on his head. He wanted to confess to the crime that he actually committed. And Sunaina was willing to let Krishna rot in jail instead. But there was a third option. Sunaina could have confessed to the crime herself. After all, she was the one who stopped Veer from helping Radhe. She was the one who insisted that Veer drive on. But she never once acknowledged her role in any of this. So I’m not even holding her to the standards of a mahaan ITV mother-in-law, but rather those of just an honest human being who admits her mistakes....and she hasn’t even done that.

With that said, if Sunaina apologizes, sincerely apologizes to Krishna, I could find a way to like her again. Because I know her actions were based in weakness, not malice. But up till now, she has yet to show any signs of remorse.

Everything has become so silent, from forum to instagram, we used to discuss so many things earlier, lots of threads, posts, I am missing all those days. IPL will end on 12th May. Aaliya is also on break because of Ramzan.

I don't know where the show is going ,it feels as if I am watching the same show before Veer entered into the show but that was still better because we didn't have Veer till then in the show, now because of KrishVeer and high hopes , and with new Radhey, things are getting worse. I hope they fix the things soon. ???????? Now, the Trp has also increased, so makers are more relaxed now, they are loving this dragging. ????

Renee, maybe I’m being overly optimistic, but I think things will pick back up quickly once Veer fully returns. And it could be the CVs have timed his return around IPL ending, or they just wanted to make viewers incredibly anxious for his return before finally bringing him back. I think they also needed to establish FR and Krishna with the Shuklas for more emotional impact when Veer finally returns. So as painful as it is to watch, they are laying the groundwork for exciting episodes ahead. And we all know when KV is back on the screen, his fan following will light up Instagram again šŸ˜‰ My hope is our forum will pick back up too!!

And my other hope is that this fake Radhe’s acting improves, because I also think that’s another reason these episodes are so painful to watch. He has no personality or charisma. I can’t tell if that’s how he’s being told to act or how he actually acts. šŸ˜• Once he and KV start sharing more screen space, the differences in their acting are going to become glaringly obvious if this guy doesn’t step it up.

I don't disagree with you completely Renu, but I'm not sure I can call Sunaina weak... I am certain that after her husband died, she did somehow support and brought her kids up - till at least Veer was capable of taking care of both the mother and the sister, and after that point, Sunaina became dependent on Veer completely... She is selfish, but I am not sure I am willing to call selfishness a weakness...

I understand that she could have found an alternative way - she did not - and that's what is probably annoying most of us. But then its human nature isn't it. We just sometimes can't see and understand the easiest way out. Initially, she did not want both Krishna and Veer to find out about Radhay so she tried separating them... when that didn't work, she decided to let Krishna take the blame so that they remain separated and Veer does not realize the truth about the accident - so she was kind of saving Veer - wrong approach but not so wrong intention. Again, I am not justifying what she did, but I also feel that we do make blunders in life... especially mothers... Do you really think Veer would have let her confess? She knew if she took the blame, Veer will come forward and present evidence and the result would be the same... except that we wouldn't be hating on Sunaina... Also, I think there wasn't enough time for anyone to process things properly and make a plan or talk... Everything happened so quickly that everyone did what they thought was best... I still believe Veer did have a few times where he could have explained to Krishna the truth before things went out of hand - and yet he did not! Probably because he was processing things too. So we do need to look from the character's point of view too... and that is what I try to express often!

Sunaina will apologize and I am sure the things between Sahay's will sort out... eventually... but for now it's going to stay the same!

This is the third week after leap na? Give it time and it'll pick up the pace... they're just setting up the environment and characters... There are aspects of characters post leap we are still not aware of... and then there is FR we still need to know about... give it a week or two and things will get better...

Meanwhile, watch Patiala Babes! šŸ˜†smiley36smiley36
