Is honesty the best policy?

Only three episodes old ... and controversy is already surrounding the guests on Koffee with Karan...

Let's start with Kajol and Rani...

They said they were not best of pals... and didn't try to pretend to be either... which was apparent from them both at the ends of the couch... and the very evident uncomfort Rani displayed...

Second episode....Priyanka & Hritik:

Hrithik made a comment that he would be fine with working with Salman and Aamir b/c they are the same height... major controversy regarding comment....

Third Episode: Mallika and Sanjay:

Kunal Kholi is an overated director, as Sanjay said.... another controversy...

Now the question arises... is Honesty really the best policy when all it lands up in is another controversy...

However if they are not honest... they come as being fake and unreal...or even getting caught..

First episode:

Rani... I will give the parachut to SRK and Kajol.... is that really what she would do? We question why she was not being herself?

Second episode:

Priyanka... Kareena and I are still friends, we just dont' have time to hang out.... Kareena denies on record, calling Priyanka just an accuintance... leaving Priyanka speechless...

Third episode (haven't watched the entire episode so can't comment yet)....

So now I ask you to be honest or not?

What would you do if you were a celebrity on KWK... would you be honest and risk being caught in the next big controversy or... would you try and please everyone with politically correct answers and risk being called fake and unrealy?

Is there a way to avoid both while being urself?

Good topic Chandni 👏 👏

There's problems both ways. The point of this interview is to let the audience know the real person, behind the face of an actor or actress. (Although it seems more like the show's purpose is to provide fodder for gossip 😆) But there's always the problem of being too honest.

People have opinions and they're allowed to state them. I thought Hrithik's comment was quite rude...although it didn't bother me as much because I wasn't a fan of either of the Khans 😆 I know it was meant as a joke, but I just think height and other physical attributes should be left out. As actors and actresses, they should focus more on talent and personalities. So if they find that they don't think someone's acting is up to mark or that someone doesn't have a too appealing personality, I don't think there's anything wrong in sharing that. They're honestly stating their opinion. But to pick on someone's physical appearance is wrong. I know I'm making a bigger deal out of what Hrithik said...I'm sure it was just a joke 😊

Now not being honest enough is also a problem. I felt that Rani has a great personality but she just didn't open up enough. It was like a role she played - anyone could have done it. She wasn't herself. Poor SRK seemed more like referie between the two cousins😆 making sure not to hurt one or the other.

I think I was on KWK I would probably be blunt and truthful about everything considering that I dont' learn to shut up everr 😆...as for the celebrities...I did not like Rani, I mean I think she is a great actress and all but she barely uttered few words, there is no pt. of coming to a talk-show if you are not going to talk, and I am sick of everyone blaming that Kajol made her uncomfortable...Rani knows SRK and karan pretty well too she can talk if she wants too, Kajol wasn't holding her back..and the parachute thing was just too fake, that's when I was like kay be real...as for priyanka and hritik interview...I think hritik clearly made a joke w/o any hurtful intentions ppl. need to quit being so sensitive...and priyanka well mostly giggled and that's all..as for the kareena thing, I feel like she was genuinely a bit shocked...I dont' think she expected that from kareena but whateva...moving on to Sanjay&Mallika...the interview that I liked the most...they are both very honest and if Sanjay doesnt' like kohli whateverr deal with it...as for Mallika I was suprised b/c I thought she was a confident girl but you can clearly see that she puts up a sort of a front as a defense mechanism...she doesn't have that much confidence in herself like she thinks she does...sanjay had it right when he said "you have the confidence but it's not the right kind or the way it should be"...well that's my analysis...I am done talking 😳

Really nice topic..

But i guess many of the stars also purposely create controversy for publicity. I am not referring to the guests from kwk but also generally. I mean good publicity or bad publicity.. so long as it IS publicity.

I won't say Rani didn't talk on the show. She just spoke when she was asked too. She answered whatever qns karan asked her. nothing less and nothing more. ya,She looked very sad but how can we assume it was because of kajol's presence? maybe she was really tired or smthg.. Abt the parachute thingy, yeahh tht was a bit TOO politcally correct. but probably she cudn't find a better ans at tht instant moment. it was on national tv n she couldn't say oh i'd let kajol die.. n i guess she wasnt witty enough to think of anything funny like srk did ..
Maybe she wasn't being honest, but tht was the only thing she could think of. why call her fake in tht sense?

Abt hrithik's comment, i thought it was just meant to be a joke. it should be taken positively. Everyone knows the acting capabilities and status and the HUGE fan followings of aamir khan and salman khan. Any 3rd person opinion abt their height hardly matters. But nevertheless, hrithik was just trying to be funny i guess. It wasn't THAT serious in my opinion.

Frankly in my opinion overall, i think none of the stars that came on kwk so far were totally honest. They do hv their boundaries. just the matter of how far they can stretch. And we shouldn't forget that they are all ACTORS. some are brilliant actors. acting is running in their blood ... its not tht easy to find out the real person thru one mere chat show. their job is to entertain which they have succeeded rather well.

Oh Nice topic!!

I really didn't think what Hrithik said about Salman and Amir was so bad .. I didn't even get it first .. but I forget if I read this in an article or maybe a members post but I think Hrithik said it because he couldn't find anything else to compare as both are great actors!

The Rani/Kajol thing was sooo evident.. It's quite clear they don't like each other .. at times I felt that Rani's answers were really fake .. eg, the parachute question and the whole " I hope srk and kajol work together"

And as for Priyanka/Kareena, I'm sure Priyanka knows exactly where her friendship with Kareena stands but she just didn't want to say anything infront of cameras and once Kareena said it she was left stunned!! I was quite shocked myself.. I didn't think Kareena would go out and say such a thing ..

Though I like hearing about feuds like this, cuz it gives us more insight in the lives of these stars and what goes on.. but then sometimes I wonder if they should air this stuff on tv .. like I HATE it when during the rapid fire rounds stars are to choose between two other celebs but then they don't say anything because they don't want to start something!

Reeeli awesome topic!! reeli interesting 👏

I think... honesty is the best policy in any kind of chat show like this.. after all the point of these kind of shows is that the viewers get an insight into the lives of the stars and if we get a wrong impression... thn wts the point of waching??

theres no point in lying, because if and when the truth comes out, they r the ones who r goin to look stupid... like if kajol hadnt sed beforehand tht she n rani wernt the best of frends and wed seen throughout the show hw uncomfortable rani was... it wud have been reeli odd and wud hav created an even bigger issue.

also.. thers a limit at hw politically correct u shud be... if u go over the top, like rani did over the parachute issue, u jst look fake... n tht also becomes an issue... so y nt jst be honest??

n at the end of the day.. its their own opinion.. isnt tht the reason we wach the show... or the reason y KJo asks questions like wt he does... we all wnt to know wt they think x

i think truth is the best thing in the chat show cuz in movies and everywhere stars goes they almost lies but at least in chat shows they should speak the truth about themselves.like rani kinda kie in the show about the parachute thing and hrithik kinda tell a true in the show.
for kareena i think she told the truth cuz when kareena
said she is not friends with priyanka then priyanka was shocked.so most of the stars speak truth.
