I had nothing to do so I thought I'd bore you guys with my ideas. Sorry, I'm a horrible writer and it's kinda cheesy and filmi at times… and full of errors…
This won't happen, but it's what I'd like for to happen…
The windows slamming hard against their panes was evidence enough of the storm brewing outside. But in no way did it compare with the one inside anjali's heart. She was moments away from making the biggest commitment of her life, one that might prove to be the biggest mistake of her life as well. She was getting married once again. It was the same ceremony, the same vows, the same people. The difference this time was that she was a different person and her groom was different as well. For once, she was in love at the time of her marriage, and that proved to be the cause of her heartache because she wasn't in love with the man she was marrying. Yug mittal, her husband to be, the man who had stuck with her when even her own husband deserted her; also the man she unwillingly blamed for separating her from her true love kavya.
These thought whirled around her mind as she got up to close the window.
Knock, knock! Anjali turned to face the door. On the other side was her mother. "Beta, are you ready? The Baraat has arrived. Everyone is waiting for you...Open the door sweety."
"Coming mom" came a nervous cry as she wiped the tears rolling down her face.
The moment her mother looked at her, she sensed something was wrong. That's what mothers do you know. "Kya hua, beta?"
"Kuch nahi ayi, chalo mein ready hu, sab intezar ker rahe honge."
"Nahi, tell what happened beta. Aren't you happy with this wedding?"
Silence.
"Sit down, I want to talk to you. Yug is a nice boy, he loves you (typical line, I know). You know he'll do anything to keep you happy but… but none of that matters if the answer to my next question is no… Do you love him?"
Again, no reply.
Sigh. "Do you love Kavya?"
At this question anjali broke down and immersed herself into her mother's arms. "Beta, it's not too late, you can still…" –"no mom, I can't back out now, I can't do that to yug…"
"Honey, the choice is now yours. I can go downstairs and talk to yug or I can act like nothing happened, it's your call."
"I'm gonna marry yug."
And with a heavy heart anjali left the room with her mother. While she was making her way down to the mandap, all she could think about was when she had done this last. Those memories brought a smile to her face as well as a bitter feeling. why hadn't she appreciated what she had. When she was marrying kavya, why was she so stupid as to wanna hurt him. That should have been the happiest time in her life, but she managed to ruin even that. She was tearing up again, when she looked up. Her eyes immediately went past the mandap and to the doorway behind it where kavya holding their baby was standing.
He's wearing white she thought. That's what he wore last time. Had he come to stop the wedding? No, he wouldn't, neither of them were the way they used to be. He had once come to crash her wedding, and she was willing to leave her friend and to be husband so that she could get what she wanted. This time her maksat was different, and her and kavya were not so daring, or were they?
All she could do was stare. She got to the mandap and closed her eyes. She kept telling herself not to cry, to be brave. As she opened her eyes, she found herself being looked at by yug. Couldn't he see the pain in her eyes she thought. No, he had become blind to it. She felt guilty for hoping he'd back off and tell her to marry kavya. It was possible , she thought, kavya found out pammi's ugly truth and had divorced her and was now looking after kavyanjali's baby. All she wanted was to be with kavya and their baby, but yug wouldn't understand. He was the one pushing the wedding even after everything had happened. But he had to know she was unhappy with him. But she herself wanted to be selfish so she couldn't balme him for being the same way.
She felt yug's hand on her shoulder and as she looked around, she realized the pandit was asking her to do something. She absent mindedly did as she was told as she kept stealing glances at her dreams standing at the doorway.
I can't do this, I can't. Be selfish for once anjali, enough of doing things for others. "Khare ho jaye phero ke liye." Anjali just gave the pundit a blank stare and turned her head to look at kavya and her baby. Her eyes were pleading him to do something, be a man, take her away. But she knew he wouldn't. He wouldn't because he cared too much about her and thought that her happiness was with yug. Fool, she thought! Whatever had to be done, she would have to do it, but how?
Apparently, not doing anything was enough because she had just been sitting there staring at kavya while everyone looked on. Yug got her up and started to walk, she didn't follow. As soon as yug turned to look at her, she looked away. The anger that was clearly reflecting on his face was too much for her. She knew she owed him, but marriage, that was a price she was no longer willing to pay.
"Please yug," she cried. "please."
"Anjali, don't do this. Punditji, continue."
"No yug!"
"Anjali!" Yug grabbed her hand and started to walk and Anjali resisted.
This was the only signal kavya needed. Anjali didn't want to marry yug and he wasn't going to let yug force her to. Kavya first carefully handed over his bundle of joy, ved, to his dearest mother (sorry, can't solve everything all in one part) and then went up to the mandap and took yug's hand off of anjali's.
Anjlai and kavya looked at each other. They were gonna do this, they had already begun. "Yug, you can't force anjali to marry you!"
"Shut up, kavya! You're the reason she's doing this. You're taking my anjali away from me!"
"I'm-"
"- he's not doing anything I don't want. I love kavya, yug. I always have. I tried, I tried to make things work, but, but, … I'm sorry yug. I want to be with kavya and our baby. I know you have done a lot for me, but I can't marry you." Anjali had finally said it, she was happy to let it out but the tears still flowed.
Yug looked up at kavya. There was envy in his eyes, but in a moment that envy turned into anger, hatred.
'Bam!' Yug took a punch at kavya. No one stopped him, everyone was too shocked. Kavya was expecting this, and didn't stop him either, till the third punch came when he too got angry. Kavya thought of anjali and yug together and this was enough to have him give yug a punch that sent him flying back (I think kavya could easily beat that stick up, and yug flying, well, if his sis can do it than why not him?). Finally, the nanda men stepped in (always a lil late aren't they?) They held both men apart and kavya frustratedly loosened himself as anjali ran towards him. She looked at him teary eyed and not a moment later, was in his arms. Home, finally she was home. How she had longed to be in his protective arms. She cried into his chest, letting her mascara run and leave black smudges on his white suit. After what seemed like ages to the onlookers and just a nanosecond to both of them, they pulled apart. Immediately anjali scanned the room for their baby. When she spotted him she ran to get him. She took him in her arms and kavya joined them. The perfect family.
Yug came upto them and apologized to anjali for the way he acted. "No yug, I'm sorry, I should have said something sooner.
"I understand" was all yug could say. Anjali gave yug a peck on the cheek as kavya looked on. He wasn't jealous this time, he knew where she was coming form. And anyways, he was gonna get more than just a peck tonight. He was just happy to have his family back. This time, nothing would be able to tear them apart.
