He studied at the Mayo College, Ajmer.
He was pursuing an MBA degree from Florida, USA but left because of his acting.
He is an entrepreneur and runs a call centre in his native place Jalandhar. Karan has also participated in the Mr India contest. He was one of the finalists and won the title of Mr. Style Statement. He has also done a few modeling assignments in Delhi.

Days and weeks went by, but you never fell.
Slowly the hatred passed us by,
Spending time, hanging out.
People saw, saying what the hell?
Accusing us for having an affair.
Somewhere trying to prove them wrong,
Cupid came and proved me wrong.
We fell in love, and rose above.
Daddy came and shot me right back down.
Hunger for revenge, I spent my time,
Doing all I could to make you cry.
Misunderstood and tore you to peices.
Suddenly awaken, too late to have you back.
I came to realize you were always right,
Doing you wrong, always causing a fight.
But I promise to you now, I promise to you forever,
My life's solemn purpose is to make you smile.
There will never be a day, where I am not by your side,
Even though I am not worthy of forgivness for all that I've lied.
If I can spend my life trying to make your dreams come true,
Maybe my existence won't be in vain.
If God will have me, there is only one I wish,
To make you happy, and live the life you wish.
