Chapter 5

Arohi was walking through the park when her eyes came to a halt seeing a family. A cute family of dad and mom along with their twin daughters. She had always liked twin children. She had a fascination with them. She always liked the fact of having someone who would be just like you yet very different. She had always craved for a twin. Thought of twins brought a sad pain to her. She also had a twin eventhough she had never seen her. A lot of other memories started to form in her brain. Her family, her parents, her brother and the rest of them. Just then Arohi remembered Arjun's question. 'Why is she here away from family?'

If only she could answer that question then she wouldn't be in so much pain. She was away from her family because a lot of events had happened in a short span of time and she was very young and fragile to have taken a good decision in those situations. Only her dadu seemed to have understood her predicament. Only he seemed to have understood that she was not a rebel by choice. She had never let anyone know the fact that she craved for her family but something from within her always stopped from going back. She couldn't let go of her past, the past that made her to doubt anyone that came into her life after those times.

Arohi tried to shake off those memories from her mind and smiled at the cute family. She prayed that the twins be never separated and she started her walk back home. She looked at the calendar. It was Friday. Today was her turn to make breakfast. She sighed and started to climb the stairs so that she can take a bath before making breakfast. She hated making breakfast on weekdays. She wants to enjoy cooking and not do it in a hurry. Something she could never do on weekdays. Shefali was still in bed and Arohi didn't wake her up. She needed to be alone while cooking. A trait she got from her mother. Mom the word got back some memories certain unpleasant memories. She doesn't hate her mother. How could she hate someone she had never met?

She doesn't care to make anything special as breakfast. Shefali had to manage with toasted bread and eggs. Arohi made a mental note of making Shefali's favourite Italian on Sunday. She was setting the table when Shefu came down and wished her morning. Arohi watched Shefali eating her toast happily. Shefali was a happy go lucky girl. She never seemed to be bothered by anything. Arohi went up to her room and took her bag. She opened her bag to take her lip gloss and stared at the junk in it. Her bag seems to have every kind of nonsensical thing in it just like her brain. She dismissed her plan of finding her lip gloss from her bag and instead used the one in her dressing table. She hated this colour and its taste. She took a last look at her reflection in the mirror. She was looking decent with her shoulderless olive green top and chocolate brown long skirt that had mirror work in its end. She added a scarf to complete the look. She was wearing her large black metal hoops and some bangles too. Ever since she joined the college she preferred to wear attires that would give her a little serious look. She always had a fascination for mixing Indian wears with western. She loved the idea of mixing up. This love can be used to explain her habit of mixing up things while nervous.

College was fun. She found a different kind of peace there. A peace that keeps you busy and happy. She loved being busy. In college she came to know about a charity programme organized by a top notch company and apparently many students from her college were invited to showcase their talent helping to raise money for the charity along with it. The bomb came after that. She was given the charge to manage the entire programme of students owing to the fact that she was the most popular among students. As head she would have to organize their acts, what they would perform and how. She also had the responsibility of helping the company officials with the arrangements. Apparently Mr. Sharma and the company head were close friends. So Sharma made this arrangement so that the students didn't endure any problems and had full freedom to do what they want.

Yeah full freedom in the expense of me doing late hours at some office helping some crackhead company head in organizing. Why did I specify my organizing skill in the resume? I know I am always attracted to problems! Thank god the programme is after two months. Atleast I wouldn't have to work like hell. The kids have great talent they can manage my absence once in a while.

Arohi was thinking about how she will manage the duty given to her when Shefali called to remind her of their plan to check out the new pub 'Chill'. 'Chill' reminded her of yesterday more specifically Arjun. She sat back in her chair and wondered whether she had really misbehaved with him. He seemed like a nice guy and they had really hit it off. But still she was skeptical of him. He aroused in her feelings she couldn't name. She was getting strange vibes from him all evening. She was attracted to him and she knows it. She had no problem in accepting it but it was not attraction that was making her uneasy. The attraction would pass soon enough but this strange feeling wouldn't. Arjun's deep brown eyes were haunting her. No one knows the real reason why she showed attitude to him in their first meet. It was pure fear. While collecting her pendant she had looked at his eyes. That was a mistake. She was losing herself in those eyes. Her friends had told her that her eyes were magnetic that they could hold anyone captive. She wondered whether it was the same thing she felt while looking at his eyes. She didn't know but she knew one thing. His eyes seem to have her attention. Arjun. What would he be doing now? Had he thought about her? Will he come to the pub? Even if he does would he act cool with her? Where would he be now?

Arohi came out of her train of thoughts and tried to focus on her work. She hadn't checked the students' assignment. She went through some photos some drawings but her mind seemed to go back to Arjun. It was making her uneasy. She had crazy crushes before but no one had ever hijacked this much of her thoughts. She set aside the assignments and took her i-pod out and started listening to a soothing music. It was Beethoven's.

Arjun was rummaging through some files when something caught his attention. It was a drawing of Arohi's pendant that he had made when he had it. He looked at it and his mouth curved into a smile. Arohi the most puzzling girl he had ever met. The only girl who had Arjun Singhania's complete attention. Out of amusement Arjun took a pen out and added some letters to the pendant and made it 'ARJUN'. Arjun suddenly recognized what he had done. He took the paper to throw in the wastebin but he didn't. Instead he slipped it into his pocket. He was wondering how she will behave today when he got a reminder from Romit to be at 'Chill' on time. He shook his head and tried to focus on his work. But his mind raced back to Arohi and her smile. She had the most beautiful smile but her smile always doesn't reach her eyes. Arjun was completely lost in Arohi's thought when a girl of his age entered his cabin.

"Who is the lucky girl?" asked the girl by waving her hand in front of Arjun. Arjun came out of his thoughts and stared at the girl. He slowly smiled at the girl and shook his head.

"I didn't ask you to shake your head. Tell me who the girl is?" demanded the girl.

"What girl? I am not thinking about anyone. No girl can make me think about her!" Arjun said grinning.

"Mr. Arjun Singhania you can lie to the entire world and even to your family but not to me! So tell me the name of your love!" said the girl again.

"June I am not in love. You know I don't care about love!" said Arjun.

"Shut up Arjun! Don't give me that 'I don't care about love' crap to me. I know you. You are madly in love with the idea of love but just scared that it may affect your macho image. So give me her name and if there is any problem just tell me! If her family is against the relationship we can kidnap her or if the problem is that she is not agreeing we can make her fall in love with you! I am here naa just tell me!" said June in one breath.

"Stop stop June! Take some breath! I am not in love with any girl but I was thinking about one. Don't get ideas! I was thinking about her because she seems very lost and mysterious. You know she is very pretty. She had beautiful eyes, beautiful smile and a puzzling nature. She is scared this moment angry on next and happy the very next. You can't predict her nature. She loves listening to Sufi music just like me. She is very different!"

June was watching her best friend going on about the girl. She had a smile on her lips. Finally thought June. Finally my idiotic best friend found a girl. No problem that he didn't realize it. I will make him. June was determined.

"So what is the name of this girl that you are not in love with? How did you meet her?" June enquired.

"Arohi. Her name is Arohi and she is the friend of Shefali who is Romit's girlfriend. And you can drop the mocking tone!" said Arjun with fake anger.

"You can show your fake anger to someone else! Arohi! Nice name! And for the record you know an awful lot about a girl you had just met!" June replied with a wink.

"You came here to enquire about my love life? Don't you have any job? I thought you were planning to launch your new book!" asked Arjun.

"Oh I am Arjun! That's the reason why I came here! I am launching it here. Chandigarh is my second home!" replied an excited June.

"So what's your plan for tonight? Even if you have any plans cancel it! You are coming with me to 'Chill'. Romit will be there alongwith Shefali and her friends! I will introduce the famous writer June Joseph to them!" said Arjun grinning.

"Sure I will come! So this Arohi is also coming naa. I know she is. No need to say. And you are giving me a lift! Now I am off to meet your family!" saying this June went out leaving Arjun to shake his head at his best friend.

Arjun, June and Romit were waiting for others in the pub. June looked towards the front door when she saw Arjun staring. Arjun was staring at a girl who was dressed in a white half sleeved figure hugging dress that extended to her knees. She looked beautiful and June was sure that it was Arohi. Her mouth curved into a smile and she thought "Arjun you had chosen a perfect girl. Now let me test her. If she passes buddy I am going to make you realize your love for her. My mind says she is the one for you and I had a pretty good instinct. If you let this girl go I am gonna kill you!"

guys pls ignore mistakes i hadn't edited it. and dn't worry abt june she is not a haddi! i just 4 once wanted 2 see a girl who is arjun's friend nd wud help him to get his arohi!
