* wtf #1: the biggest bestest thing (for me at least 😆) was that both prem and heer quickly got the ''fight for the custody of their phudka'' resolved! after doing a couple of flip-flops between ''prem did it 😡😭'', ''prem can't have done it 😲😭'' that heer did, they quickly got down to confrontation and ... omg! understanding that ''prem can't have done it!''
i loved how they had heer immediately want to talk it over with prem as soon as she got the papers. there was no ''he's the devil and i'll fight him tooth and nail rather than ever talk with him'' which was brilliant. and then, bringing it up quickly at the fake-mandir. *no way, i'm gonna call that shiv mandir! 😡* -- to which came that brilliant prem response ''who is talking about phukda's custody anyway?!'' *btw, his voice there was brilliant. brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. 😍 he was getting hit left-right-center by heer's i-regret-everything-about-you verbal barbs. but he still had the presence of mind to get down the heart of it, and refute it.*
wooo hooo, prem!😍 not to mention that fierceness continued in that last letter he left for ''meri heer''. 😍
* wtf #2: the worstest part for me was watching the glob deteriorate more and more in her ability to be a mother.
y'know? when pbauji was being mean to prem and heer, there was no point -- not one, i think -- when i thought he was evil. he was a blind, irrational, idiot all through. but at no point was he evil. 'cause he was never thrilled at the misery that prem or heer were going through.
the glob is different. by doing her underhanded psychological manipulation of prem and his heer, the glob has become evil. 'cause she has actively schemed to separate them, and then gloated in what she has achieved.
why do they always have mothers as evil in these shows? why?
* wtf #3: was there even one glimpse of preet this whole week?? or pbauji?? i remember triv saying that pbauji was ill -- but preet? and to top my misery, they keep showing harman-meher in the same moment -- which makes me feel most uncomfortable.
*sigh* i used to love this family, y'know? i thought they were one of the nicest that had ever been created for hindi tv-land. today, they are a ghost of a family. no? hmmm!
* wtf #4: the one character that always had the most potential but never quite made it is ... meher's!
she started as a bright, smart, chirpy little sister. and then became the traumatised terrified girl who clung to anything and everything - no matter how much it made her unhappy - just to have some stability in her life. then the seriously soppy lover (''harman-ji'' indeed!) who became preet's wife. and then the mother of preet's child. meher changed from a person with a bright personality of her own to always being a shadow of someone else's. since after the death of her parents, the only time meher ever actually fought for something was working with preet to get prem and heer back together after prem asked heer to leave the house. somehow -- it makes me sad that meher never got back to being that smart, chirpy, bright person we saw briefly at the start of the show.
* wtf #5: i know i can repeat this till kingdom come -- but what exactly happened six years ago?? *sitting back 'cause today i have no energy to throw a temper tantrum...*
* wtf #6: what happened to make maya-meher such great friends?
what happened to make maya so contemptuous of harman??
and why is harman just a house-gardner?? even after having come back to india?? 😕 what did harman do to lose his identity, his skills -- his sense of being??! 😕 and why does no-one care??!! 😕
* wtf #7: does anyone else get the feeling that prem thinks he actuallyhadsexwithgi-itt??! i swear i'm gonna smack him on the upside of his head if he does!!! 'cause that could sooo be one way in which they can have prem actually agree to marry gi-it, no?
'cause actually, the marriage-attempt getting broken looks bleak, no?
- prem thinks hehadsexwithgi-it and feels obliged to marry her? *gaaaag!!!*
- heer thinks that she owes gi-it for having finally understood prem (not!) and feels unworthy and obliged to let prem-and-gi-it get to a better life for prem? *argh!!!*
- gi-it thinks she is in love with prem -- so she's not gonna be like ashlesha was the last time; she would be willing to be with prem any which way she can get him?
* wtf #8 : d'you know what i finally figured? that this show is making me work too hard at finding excuses to watch it.
ya, really. i just figured that out! *i can be as much of a duffer as prem-heer s'times! amazing, but.. true! sometimes, i get so struck at how alike prem and i can be, that i wonder if i should start... hating myself!! 😆 😆*
it's not like i don't want to watch it anymore. it's just that now i don't quite like to watch it anymore.
i still have a little prem-daemon and a little heer-daemon who sit on my right shoulder, and distract me every once in a while. but they are not the prem and heer that i see today.
if i think 'bout when i stopped watching the show 'cause i loved watching it, instead of cringing while watching it, it goes to the point in time that ... gayatri-mom turned weird.
till that point, i really, truly liked the show, even with all it's madness. but once she started going twisted, everything actually went beserk and twisted with her. is that what happens when the god in the show becomes twisted? 😕
it's funny isn't it? it wasn't really maya's entry or vitchface's grumbling. remember that spectacular moment in the show when vitchface tried to make gayatri-mom feel bad that no-one was paying any attention to new bride maya? and gayatri-mom came out with loads of sweets and stuffed them down maya's throat? man, that was spectacular! 🤣
but when the whole gayatri-mom felt that the entire family was discriminating against her ''own'' daughter started, she took everything went to hell after that.
from that point onwards, i've been stuck in a series of questions -- out of which the largest has always been: ''why has the outcome of any situation been what the glob has wanted!!????'' i've never understood this. i never understood how no-one else actually stopped anything when prem managed to have heer leave the house! i could understand heer leaving. i could *gag!* understand *gag!* prem asking her to *gag* leave him. but everyone else? preet protested. pbauji protested. kuldi protested. and yet.. no-one was ever effective! heer had to leave anyway!!
of course, the second biggest question was: ''why did she go so mad?'' i never understood what made her go that insane. still don't understand how nurturing love for prem turned into obsessive hate for heer. didn't understand how pbauji's choice to celebrate his b'day with nihaal-heer became heer's responsibility. didn't understand how prem's love for heer became heer's wickedness. didn't understand why she suddenly looked for heer to blame instead of asking why they all loved her so much? why she suddenly started demanding her rights to be loved -- and no-one asked her why those rights couldn't be shared?
and so the little prem-and-heer daemons on my shoulder are from the time before gayatri-mom went insane. they're the ones who fought the god of death and came back. they had just settled down to ''fulfil heer's promise to her saasu-maa to give her a pothi/potha.'' 😳and they were adorable. they are bold and shy at the same time, smile a lot at each other with dreams in their eyes, and hold hands a lot. and behind my ear, under cover of my hair, they ... kiphph. a whole darned lot. and... er... no. you don't need to know anything else. *brick-red-not-pretty-at-all estee-blushing-face*
these are not the two on screen today. the two on screen today are shattered and bleeding. but they are still full of prem-heer-are-one. and they make me want to watch them. even though i do not like to.
* wtf #9: haven't checked on who are the creative-head+script-writers these days. but i've got something to say to whoever they are just now.
er... you guys may know how to do the entire evil-mother-in-law script even if someone woke you up from deep sleep and asked you to write a scene.
but in those shows, there was no prem, no heer. and man! does it come through that you have no wtf-ing clue what to do with a prem and a heer!!
i get the feeling you are trying to tell us that you have seen the show from the start in your choice of flashbacks. yes, that part where prem-heer enter their chawl home was one of the most perfectly done scenes in this show, like, ever! 😍 but i think you need to see the show a couple of times over from scratch. 'cause there is no way in heck that heer could ever say that she has ever hated prem.
a clue: watch the last one month of shows and see how ag played heer -- i mean, really watch it. if you really got the essence of prem-heer-are-one from the earlier part of the show, you'd also get the difference between anger and hatred. and if you can't get it, well. see if you can get shifted to another show, na, please?
and another clue: gi-it's line about hatred was kinda exactly what has gone wrong with the script-writing. hatred does not ebb and flow like the tide -- hatred is just there. anger, does on the other hand, come and go. and that is exactly what has been happening to heer. at the very least, can we please leave heer to know what she is feeling??! and if you can't figure it out -- just don't have her say anything!!?!! she is great at expressing without words! 😛
get your act together sooner rather than slower, no, please?
else -- no matter how many beautiful prem-heer moments hc-ag throw out on screen -- the weary part of me that is tiring of justifying the show is gonna to dominate the w&w-ing part.
which could actually be the best for all of us, no? lower number of long estee style posts... 😆
see ya, my phorum buddies. have phun with both your hands, with everything you can find.
'm taking the spot below. with no clear plans on how to use it. it's one of those ''just in case'' post-grabs! 😆
