i hardly watch kdmhmd..but i sumtiems read updates..and i just hav to comment on this topic..i agree with wht sum1 above said abt how meher is not that innocent herself..she knew ash and preet loved each other she cud've said no ...told lallu she didnt want to marry at all..she wasnt such a poor little thing that nobody wud've married her..
so 100% agreed she is not that poor nor innocent..ofcoruse she doesnt deserve to be beaten up like this but she did deserve a few taunts herself..where was her brain and her sisterly love at the time all this happened?
Sorry but I disagree. Firstly, if anyone's to blame in this situation is Preet's dad. I don't understand how he just expects everyone to follow through with his so called "arranged" marriages...and when someone does not, he immediately jumps the boat and tries to commit suicide. I realize that no one knew that he was going to carry that through, but I suspect, they all feared the worst and so Meher and Preet jumped into this marriage just to appease him.
Secondly, poor Meher just got left at the alter. In Indian culture/society, no matter the situation, a girl that has this happen to her does not get future marriage proposals. Its totally frowned upon. I won't say that it has never happened, but the liklihood of getting a proposal is slim. Wasn't that the whole idea behind marrying Veera off to Heer's brother? RR left Veera at the alter and challenged everyone to get her married. If Heer's brother hadn't agreed....who would marry her? and so quickly? The family would be in shame...because no one would blame the guy, they would all taunt her.
So, from this perspective, why is it wrong for Meher to think of herself and marry Preet? Both Preet and Meher married to appease the dad but also they managed to save Meher's reputation once Harman walked out on her. Ash has never even been officially engaged to Preet, so though its sad that her love did not end up in marriage, she still has a much better chance of securing a marriage proposal than Meher would've had after Harman left her.
Lastly, I realize that Meher and Ash have gotten close over the last month....but given how Ash treated Meher in the beginning....I don't think she owes her any consideration at all. If we start to discuss about consideration, then we should also start to think that if Ash really thought of Meher as her sister, she would take the time to consider the situation that Meher was in and accept their marriage. She would put her feelings and hurt aside and support her sister. Rather than just thinking about how Preet deserted her. I'm not saying that her feelings aren't justified, but why is it that we expect Meher to be the bigger person....saying that she should've rejected Preet's suit but that same expectation is not enforced upon Ash?
Is it because Meher has always been a good character and we just expect her to put other people's needs above her own?
