Here's some of the article from GR8 magazine on Harshad I saw in online...

Is Decency Dead?…

You couldn't have missed it!

It was that large in daily papers - and it was one of those obituaries announcing the dead with a typical format of the deceased's face in centre-space and a Gita Shlok pasted above it.

And you couldn't have missed the face here!
That was Harshad Chopra, now a household name because of his playing Prem in Balaji's Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil.

You couldn't have also helped being stunned!
Harshad – the winsome, handsome Harshad dead? But that's how it seemed. Actually, the first look at this obit instantly hit you with two images – Harshad's face and Star Plus logo. And you would be too stupefied to look any further.

That's exactly what happened to us and we had the shock of our life at such a young life ending so suddenly. The paper in hand, we darted to our publisher's room, 'cause Shashi Ranjan knew Harshad closely. One look at the paper and he, too, was jolted numb, gaping at the face. With moisture welling up in his eyes, he whispered about the good boy Harshad always was.

Suddenly, our editor, Anu Ranjan stormed in – 'Did you see that?' We nodded miserably, 'Yeah – it's sad!' 'It's the pits!' she fumed.

'What's that?' we were flummoxed! 'How could they do it?' her tone was spitting fire.

'Why?' said Shashi, 'It's a good thing that they cared to post homage to the dead boy who was their actor!'

'Oh, rubbish!' said an outraged Anu, 'They did nothing of the sort! It's an advertisement – a ploy to raise TRP's for the day's episode!'

'Really?' we went hoarse with horror!

And then it came back to us – in all its ugly actualities. Yes, it was an advertisement – an unabashed and ungainly trick played on readers for attracting a few eyeballs more for that evening's episode.

We were speechless!

How could anyone even think about it? How could anyone be so cruelly insensitive?? How could anyone stoop so low for business gains?

While turning a young boy into an object of public obituary in the spring of his life, they did not care a hoot as to what could it do to his mother, father, friends and even foes! It clearly shows that commerce is the be-all & end-all of life, today! Gosh! What's the world coming to… correction – what's the world already come to?

Seen this article....honestly, there are no words to show my disgust. Toying with our emotions in one thing, but an act like this is I think by far the lowest the production house as stooped.

Thank You for this!! Ekta is the most cruel, heartless, insensitive person in the world- I'm glad that this story is being publicised, it gives Ekta the taste of her own medicine, she deserves this criticism!! 😡Imagine how Harshad's friends and family must have felt seeing an obitiuary ad in the papers!! It's disgusting!! I hope she makes a public apology- but i won't expect much from that selfish pig!! x

hey.........

wen ppl on the forum were mentioning this wen they actually had harshad in the newspaper........i thought it was silly BIG TIME!........how could they do this to him..........it didnt even help the show in its trp's!.........silly is more like an understatment to explain this stupidity!................i was sad for harshad, and his family and friends.........they must hav been shocked to see him in the newspaper like that..........i bet he must hav been annoyed cos he must hav got loads of calls from ppl letting him know wot has been done...........and he was ill wen he found out!

Its disgustting yaar...How can anyone be so mean to A nice person like Harshad...I dnt have words to explain how I am feeling now....Just wish that someone teaches Ekta a lesson....BT is digusting....ughhh

thanks for the excerpt and link, and i think we already discussed this on the forum and everybody was equally disgusted by it, glad to know we werent the only one, and i do feel bad for harshad, imagine explaining this to ur friends and family... and the resignation that he has that it is out of his hands :(

Even then i said it was sick and i still think it was sick and i am shocked to hear that they did not even inform Harshad before doing such a disgusting thing 😡

This indicates how low Ekta can fall for the sick game of TRP's , this is totally disgusting, she didn't even think for a second how his family & friends may feel after reading such a thing........all she cared abt was her sick game 🤬 🤬

What does she think she's gaining by doing this.............people will start to hate her even more 🤢

although i must say! the article itself is pretty hysterical! reads like a soap opera, doesn't it?? i was totally 🤣 at this particular part:

"her tone was spitting fire"?????? and "homage to the dead boy"???? i mean, who in the real world talks like that??!!! 🤣

sounds like mr. Vierendra Bhargav is eyeing a soap scriptwriter job.🤣

i think paper journalists are as much scum as tv-journalists -- no way that stuff is true! 🤣 and i despise them for using the magazine media for making us feel horrible ("handsome, winsome harshad" -- i mean! who talks like that in the real world,damnit!!?!). i wonder if there are even people called "anu rajan" and "shashi". if they are real, they should be suing this v.b creep for portraying them in such a hysterical fashion. i've met editors of magazines -- they are not that stoooopid. at least not all the time... 😆

after reading this (hysterical, non-informative and sheer rabble rousing) bit of fluff, the question that really came to my mind was:

* who the heck paid for the ad???! was it balaji telefilms - who want to stoke up interest for their show?? or was it star+ who want to stoke up interest for this show?? i think it's star+ -- after all their logo is prominently on the ad... what do you think?

* so when they say "decency is dead", are they implying that "prem is decency"?? 😍 which of course, is true, true, true...

i'm just as disgusted as u....but i think tht the newspapers tht published the ad should be blamed as well...i mean how low can they go just for money???

I hope there's some legal action taken against Ekta!!! And Ekta make a public apology??? Unless it benefits her...i wouldn't expect it...

I agree...it's not silly, but infact its stupidity. Just imagine how he felt seeing his picture in newspaper or finding out about it!!

I makes me sad that soooo many people actually let this happen. Ekta can't do this alone. Her creatives, BT, the newspaper publisher, etc. were all involved!

No problem fj08. It's really sad that all this happened. No wonder he seemed so out of it after the incident.

I'm just as shocked as you. I'm surprised SBS didn't go talk to him personally about this.

I really think Ekta is past the phase of people hating her to an extent. She's at the point in life, where everyone hates her. No wonder she's still single.

It could be either....😕....u never kno...it could be Star+'s way of getting Ekta in a mess (I'm not supporting EKTA...just want to make that clear!!😆)...i heard they don't get along much...i wonder why😆
