I enjoy watching Khwaish, I am totally hooked. Khwaish is different in that firstly the language allows one to learn proper urdu. I am Muslim but our mother tongue is English. One can learn a lot with regards to different cultures around the world. How other Muslims observe Ramadaan, Eid, death, weddings. Its really an eye opener.
The serial is realistic, something that we can relate to in every day life. The middle class daughter in law who tries to cope with the upper class people. I must say that Afreen has toned down a bit, I remember her fighting spirit in the earlier episodes where firstly she stood up to Kabir (the office scene ) and then when she exposed Kareena in front of all. Where is that Afreen??? Why does she not confront Nadira....or Sania for that matter. How can she allow Sania to walk into her room and start making changes. When will she start fighting for her rights. My opinion is that she is too soft, its well and good that she always puts the family happiness before hers. Right now we are at the point of her waiting for Azaan to make a decision, whether he will choose her or Sania. If Azaan chooses Sania, will Afreen just walk away without a fight???? That will be too easy. Its clear that she loves Azaan, not in the way that she loved Kabir, but she does feel for him. Will she make this sacrifice as well. If she makes the sacrifice to walk away then I think that the serial will go the same route of other serials where daughter in laws are always making sacrifices for the sake of the family. Is this the norm in our everyday lives???? I do not think so, in todays world daughter in laws can stand up for the injustices of this world and I think this is what we the viewers need to see.
I enjoy all the characters, there is a balanced mix of good and evil. I love Shanawaaz and Zarin as parents, more than Afreens parents. Hadi sahaab is a bit too much from the old school while Shanawaaz is smart, intelligent, good looking and a cool father in law. I love the way he stands up for Afreen especially against Nadira. I miss Anju Mahendru.......when will she be back to her old self. She too supported Afreen. The rest of the cast is just by the way, I guess you cannot have a serial with just Afreen and Azaan.
Afreen and Azaan ; (although at first I did not like Azaan (SORRY)....The character of Azaan is slowly starting to develop. I look forward to seeing him especially with Afreen. I was totally besotted by Kabir and Afreen at first, now that Azaan is starting to understand Afreen, I am starting to relate to his character. The chemistry between the 2 are developing, and it should not be rushed. One must not loose sight of the fact that Afreen is still deeply in love with Kabir.....her following his image to the end of the roof proves that, she was totally out of her mind. She is starting to use Azaan as support and that will turn into love.
What I want to see in this serial is LOVE CONQUERS ALL..... no matter what calamities Afreen and Azaan face they do it together and these experiences make their relationship stronger. Marriage should be based on trust and mutual respect. That is what should come out of this serial. Leave out the jealousy, suspecting, affairs, divorces and seperations. There are a lot of other serials out there that have these story lines. Afreen and Azaan should be each others pillars of strength. How this is shown with the usual twists and turns I leave up to the creative heads. Yes Afreen and Azaan will fight, will have misunderstandings but these should be cleared in a way that makes them and the viewers feel that no matter what happens, husbands and wives always triumps and remains together. Lets not go down the road of taking revenge and hatred.
What I do not want to see is Kabir returning to the serial after a while and says that all this while he was being held captive, the body that they saw was not his, the face was changed. That will definately kill the plot. Kabir is dead, let it be. The viewers have accepted this fact. Should Kabir return , he will be the focus of everyones attention. What will happen to Azaan and all his sacrifices. Will he turn negative. This will also kill the plot. Please do not ruin it. I hope that after a while Afreen does not wake up and realise that from the time of Kabirs death till now she has been dreaming , that would mean , no Azaan - Afreen love story but Kabir will be alive. If this happens I suggest that we start this serial all over again.
I know that my views sounds like a fairy tale, but we need this. There are too many soaps out there where you have the scheming mother in law and sister in laws..... where the wife is always struggling, where she has to always justify her actions, where she is answerable to all. For once lets see something different. Allow the viewers to drool over Azaan and Afreen romance, allow us to feel their romance, allow us to believe that no matter what love and mutual respect between husband and wife triumps over all.
Azaan and Afreen .............you two have a fantastic chemistry.... keep it up. Lets hope that you 2 stay together.
