'I am not a good dancer'
Says Yash Tonk, who believes that hard work helped him and his wife reach the finals of Nach Baliye 2
From being angry at the judges for giving them low scores to winning their praise in Star One's Nach Baliye 2, Yash Tonk and wife Gouri have come a long way. Speaking about his outburst then, he says, "We were very amateur in our approach. We didn't understand what exactly the judges were looking for. We thought all we had to do was dance, but later we realised that presentation mattered a lot."
And though Yash has reached the finals, he doesn't claim to be a great dancer. "I am not a dancer. I have enjoyed myself in the contest, but I have also worked hard for it. The numerous reharsals that we have had made us good dancers. It's not just luck," he says.
Yash says he is excited about competing in the finals but not nervous. Speaking about his competitors Hussain Kuwajerwala and Tina, Yash says, "They make a great couple. They have performed very well throughout. But besides being good dancers, they are good human beings and that is something that I am happy about."
Yash adds that he was lucky that he could participate in the show. "I had taken a four month break and so I could devote so much time to the competition. And believe me, it takes a lot of time and dedication to put up a good performance," says yash.
While wife Gouri has taken a break from acting post the birth of their daughter, Yash say that she too will return to acting some time soon. "She'll definitely act. She was busy looking after our daughter." Besides Nach Baliye Yash is also busy with Kesar on Star Plus. After Nach Baliye ,Yash may sign another serial or a movie. "Right now I am just concentrating on the finals. We are supposed to dance on a medley of songs for 15 minutes," says Yash.
