Suki's raaz is finally out to everyone. The raaz that threatened to tear Michi apart has finally come out and broken SS relationship as expected. But is it really that bad for Suki? I personally think that Suki would have had a peaceful sleep on the night she returned back to SM. Hiding a secret as huge as this for so long is no joke, especially if the person you are keeping it from also happens to be the one you love dearly. It eats away your conscience and disturbs your peace. I know Suki is a totally irresponsible character and may be she does deserve what she got. But I couldn't help feeling sorry for her.
I wouldn't consider her liaison with Alaap a grave sin. Yes, she was foolish to trust a no-gooder like him. But what she did wrong was to shy away from accepting the consequences of her actions. If only she had faced it then, Ritwik would not have had the ignominy of being a parent less child, shuffled around and having to be the cause of serious misunderstandings between two innocent people. She may have had the best intentions at heart when she wanted to come clean with her brother but I guess the one person who deserved to know the truth, her husband, was always kept in the dark. Granted she did want to come clean before marriage and he did not hear her conversation but should she not have confided in him when she realised he did not know it? If she had explained her position Saket may well have accepted her.
Despite all her omissions and commissions, I still think the girl has been through a lot of emotional upheavals. It is not a joke to see not only the 'dead body' of your child twice but also see his life endangered in front of your eyes. It is a sheer torture for any mother. As the saying goes, the coward dies a hundred deaths the valiant dies but once. Suki must have been dying inside every day, although the creatives did not concentrate on this aspect much (given their lackadaisical attitude towards even the leads in the show).
By choosing the apparently easy path of holding her tongue she had condemned herself to a lot of psychological and emotional stress. So the truth coming out yesterday has really given her a deliverance from the torture she must have been going through living such a big lie.
I hope she has more sense than to trust the snake in the grass Alaap all over again and make her brother's life miserable all over again for if she gets hurt it is her brother who would suffer the most, given his love for her.
