Prachi has completely taken leave of her senses. While the signs were always there, I guess we will get to see ultimate proof of it this week. May be that will be the Diwali present they are planning to give us gullible viewers who have been lapping up everything they have been dishing out to us so far.
Lets trace her way to this self destructive path by rewinding to the night of the reunion party.
If you recollect, Prachi tries to explain that Milsi has misunderstood everything when she realises he had witnessed Neev's love decleration at the cliff top. Milsi as always shuts her up and leaves. What does madam do? Instead of running behind him and convincing him of her innocence she waits for him, bedecked in all her bridal finery, hoping to surprise him and make him understand that she is ready to accept him as her husband. Even when she fails to see him that entire night, she does not go looking for him. I would have thought that any logical person would have done that, particularly when you know that the person in question has left after a misunderstanding. If she had gone after him, atleast the poor guy need'nt feel guilty of indulging in a ONS.
Coming to Suki's elopement. Another grave misunderstanding. Granted she did not know about Suki's elopment plans. But when she gets to know where they were hiding, what does madam do? She plays Nancy Drew and embarks on her own trip to find them and bring them back. Did not bother to confide in her husband who was as it is livid with anger. Her primary motive was to bring back Suki, not clear her name. Fortune favoured her and she was able to stop them from actually going ahead with the marriage and subsequently earn Milsi's regard when he realised he had wrongly accused her.
Coming to this grand baby raaz ,which has been engaging the attention of our creatives for the past two months, her plans have always been short-term knee jerk reaction .
She was foolish enough to believe that only Alaap would be interested in Suki's secret. So to avoid him suspecting Suki she put her own name (why own name and not some fictious name only goes to underline her foolishness). To top it all she tells Suki that she put her name there because she knows when Alaap sees her name he will not get suspicious. (How more foolish can she get. Alaap has seen the two of them together discussing Suki's raaz. Would he not immediately conclude that if Prachi's anme appears in the record then she is protecting Suki and that the baby is Suki's and his?)
At the time of the name change she did not foresee taking the baby home. On the pufphera day when she came to know that Alaap has reached the orphanage and is looking for Ritwik, she panicked and clandestinely adopted the baby (made a mockery of the entire adoption process).
Later what does she do? Gets some dancer to pose as her friend to come deliver the child home with some cock and bull story of a sick mother and no husband. Here again she appears to have not thought through the entire plan. What was she planning to tell her folks after the period for which the child was kept in their custody, that the girl died? (And again she exhibits her foolishness by retaining Ritwik's name even after she realised that Alaap now knows the name of the child. It is not like Alaap is living in another country or something where he will never meet the child. For god's sake he lives in the very same house)
When she comes to know that Alaap is determined to find the truth, again she commits another blunder by sending him off to Turkey. How long will he remain in Turkey? Would he not come home sometime? Would he not then discover the truth?
When Ayesha came with the orphanage record, one can see fear in her eyes. She thought Milsi will believe it and accuse her as always. But after giving her the initial shock treatment he surprisingly sprung to her defence. He even went to the extent of declaring that he trusted her more than himself. I think this one act made her cocky. She, therefore, placed him on the same plane as Alaap, that there is no way he will believe that the baby is Prachi's.
With this assurance, all her actions were geared only towards protecting Suki's precious little secret because she feels that her marriage is safe but Suki's is not. Her presence in the hospital was to ensure that Suki's raaz does not come out. She did'nt think twice about lying to Milsi about her whereabouts because again Suki's raaz was the all important thing that had to be protected at all costs.
Going by the latest promo, her suki fixation has hit a new high. Realising that the DNA results would have been based on the hair found in Michi bedroom (which by the way suki has already informed her is hers through telephone), she is all set to accept the blame and be crucified. Her marriage means little to her in comparison to Suki's. In fact Milsi's peace of mind seems of no consequence to SQ as compared to Saket's (who, by the way thanks to her untiring efforts, is blissfully ignorant of his wife Suki's dark secrets). So in a convoluted way she seems to be giving more importance to Neev's family and Milsi's family rather than her own family with Milsi.
If they are hoping to earn sympathy for Prachi, they surely have not succeeded in their endeavour. All they have achieved is heighten our irritation even as all the applause we gave for her great performance, in the temple to Suki and in front of the waterfall to Milsi, is fast disappearing into thin air.
