P anchi Bora (Prachi), the lead pro- tagonist in Kayamath (Star Plus), is facing a difficult time. Apart from her shoots, she is also preparing for her upcoming exams. Bora is a second year student in Pune's Ferguson college. She seems to be wor- ried about the philosophy and sociology papers. Says Bora, "I have two papers to write this month-end. Since the current track is centered round me, I will have to go for my exams to Pune to write the papers and return for the shoot. It's going to be tough." She admits that the production house (Balaji Telefilms) and the director of the show have been co-operative about her exam schedules; "I'm allowed to pack up early sometimes. I'm also not interrupt- ed when I study in between shots. My col- lege friends make sure that I have all the notes in time." Bora has taken leave from May 2 to 6 to go to Pune to give the exams. She adds, "These days we are trying to bank the episodes for the days I'm absent. We're shooting round the clock." After her exams, she also plans to take another day off on May 14 off since her sister is getting married. Adds Bora, "I will be visiting my family in Assam for a day to be part of the event. It's sad that I can't spend much time with my family. That's the price one has to pay for suc- cess." After winning a talent hunt, Bora shot to fame with MTV's first ever soap, Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi. Ronit Roy replaced Mohnish Behl to play the role of Bora's father in Kaya- math. Ronit Roy's character Inder is slat- ed to die in a fortnight's time, bringing another twist in the story.
