Q. Tell us about your character in the show.
A. I play a 21-year-old girl. She is very bubbly and determined. She has her priorities right, understands what she wants and what she does.
Q. They say you are 17 years old. How do you manage to play 21?
A. This is what I think talent is (laughs).

A. Opportunity came knocking at my door. Glamour has always been a part of my ambitions. It is not everyday that you get an offer to act in a Balaji show, that too as lead, and the platform is huge. I decided to take it on.
Q. Are you still studying? How do you think you will cope with the pressures of studying and shooting a daily?
A. I am in the 12th standard. After shooting, I go home and study for at least an hour. I am studying through a correspondence course. I know studies are important, and that I have to complete my graduation at least. I also study between shots, instead of wasting time.
Q. Does your name actually begin with the letter K?
A. (laughs) Yes, I have not changed it.
Q. What if you are asked to put in an extra K, or A?
A. I think my name is lucky enough, which is why I am here. I don't think they will want any more changes.
Q. Ekta Kapoor is known as a hard taskmaster. How is your equation with her?
A. She was very sweet to me. She realized that I am new, and needed encouragement. She was extremely supportive, and told me not to worry, and that I would pick up everything in due time.
Q. You said you always wanted to act. Did you ever audition for anything earlier?
A. I thought I would begin my struggle after my graduation, but this came my way. I think it was destined.
Q. Did you act in school?
A. I used to participate in skits and plays. After I won a prize for my street dance in college, Balaji called me and told me that I suited one of their characters in a new show. A few auditions later, I got the role.
Q. How did your family react to this?
A. My family was very supportive. They came for all the auditions. My mother took a 10-day leave to be with me during the first few days of shoot.
