Anurag Basu:
He's an emotion. One half of a legendary couple. If Prerna can be characterized as an iron rod wrapped in velvet, Anurag is a marshmallow covered in a hard shell. Behind the tough outer shell lies a gentle heart. He's the Yan to her Yin. He's that practical soul who once shied away from the thought of suffering for love, but today derives some sort of masochistic pleasure in suffering for his love. He's the tufan in Prerna's life, who swept her up and away. He's like the fire he saved her from. He consumed her in a blaze of passion, he burns in her heart even as he soothes her soul. He's fiercely protective of the ones he loves. He's the most loyal friend one can ask for. He's his father's Pride, his mother's Joy. His sister's strength and support. When he loves, he gives it his all. When he looks at his Prerna, he looks at her with his heart in his eyes. When he touches her, he does so like she is the most precious thing in the world. When he loves her, he does so with an intensity that robs her off of her senses. He is Prerna Sharmas's one true love. The man he is, she cannot help but fall in love with him. He is her inevitability. The Anurag Basu that Prerna Sharma fell in love with: there's just no one like him.

Prerna Sharma:
She's that force of nature which brought the Toofan, Anurag Basu to his knees. She knocked the wind out of him. She took his breath away. She's a dreamer, the one who always lived in a world of imaginary stories. The one who yearned for her own epic love. And when she did find him, she could've never guessed how epic it would be. Even in her wildest dreams, she couldn't have dreamed of the passion she would hold in her heart for him one day. She's her mother's princess, her sister's confidant and her father's strength. She's that woman, who is the backbone of her family. And she is Anurag Basu's inspitation. She loves him with the kind of abandon that probably cannot be called sane. She has given him her all, and she still finds more to give. Her beauty, her strength, her passion, her mad love ; she is his destiny.

These two are so imperfect. So flawed. They are not even perfect together. But they are just right. Together, they make sense. Their world makes sense. Their names just make sense together. They make me want to believe in the impossibility of their reckless and all consuming love. They make me want to root for their happily ever after. They make me want to overlook every single one of their faults, in the face of their pure, unblemished love for each other. They command my brain to shut off and make my heart yearn for them. They're not real. Not at all. But in these 2 years, they've given me a fairytale.
They've made me laugh. They've made me cry. They've made me remember what it's like to be swept away in an impossible love.
They're magic. And ultimately, in the harsh realities of the world, we all need a little magic in our lives.
My purpose in making this post is not to discuss any scenes or even talk about the show. Neither do I want to dwell on what anupre were and what they are today. It is simply a deeply personal opinion of how I see anurag and prerna and what they are to me. And to invite you all to share what they are to you.
We are soon going to say goodbye to them. Who knows if we will even be left satisfied. But here, maybe we can see them the way we first saw them and fell in love with them, the way we have always remembered them and the way we always want to.
