Chapter 9 – The decision
Prerna and Rishab reached home and many heads turned when they entered.
“Rishab kaha the tum log”
Before Prerna could answer
“ek event pe jana tha Maasi so late ho gaya”.
Prerna asked – Kukki?
“So gayi hain.”
“I will check.”
Rishab received a phone call.
“Yes Mr mehra. “
“Sir I have been keeping an eye on Mr Basu. Ab tak to sab theek hain. He has meeting with some investors and some business proposal and stuff like that nothing new.”
“I don’t know Mehra, I don’t like this please continue following him”
“Mr bajaj ek aur baat. Miss Bose suddenly bahut active ho gayi hain. Unke business main bhi shayad kisi ne invest kiya hain. She can be a problem.”
“Don’t care Mehra. Kukki ke paas prerna even if she comes back for custody mera case bahut strong her she wont come back again to insult herself. But agar aaapko lagta hain its necessary then go ahead. Woh Bajaj empire ke bare main bhi kuch aise points jaanti hain which she can use if she gets the correct backing. It is better to be careful.”
“Sorry Main unke bare main baatn ahin karna chahta tha lekin it was important.”
Rishab cut the call and was surprised that he didn’t feel the pang of hurt when talking about Meneka. All he could feel was the calm which he had felt with Prerna at the rooftop. He was happy that the firecrackers had distracted them else in his stupidity he would have asked Prerna something so wrong that he would definitely have lost her then and there. He would have to give her time even it meant the entire lifetime.
Anurag came to meet Prerna –“Ghar main pooja thi tum kaha gayi thi.”
“kuch kaam tha tumhe?”
“Ÿeh kya hain?” Pointing at the Raksha Dhaga.
“Puja main gaye the. So”
“Yeh choodiyan dene aaya tha puja main milti hain.”
“Prasad ko mana nahin karte so thank you but mere pass hain already.” and showed him the one she was wearing.
“Mr Bajaj ne di hain. Waqt kitni jaldi badalta hain na. Cheezon ki importance kitni jaldi change ho jaati hain.”
Prerna who had nothing to say,she didn’t have the will to fight and just left from there. She remembered the last year that she had done the puja with Anurag and this year how things have changed. Did she regret what she had done. No, she had to save Anurag from Komolika and Ronit and she had done what was needed to be done. Yes, Anurag might never be able to know about the child but she had to do this for him. Now he was moving on and it would be better she would too. She would feel more than happy to live her life happily with Kukki and this kid and Mr Bajaj – she was surprised at her own thought. How easily had the man she hated the most turned into someone she could depend on and he was doing everything necessary for this child. He/she will be loved and that is all that mattered and with that she made her decision. Prerna changed and for the first time found herself feeling someone’s absence in the room. She was waiting for Mr bajaj as she wanted to ask him something. She waited for a long time when he didn’t come, she got worried he was not even in Kukki room and found him at the roof.
She went and sat on the swing.
“Mamooni ke ghar se jyada sundar dekhta hain”
Rishab smiles.
“Main kuch mango aapse?”
Rishab nodded.
“Basu bari se chaliye Mr.bajaj.ab nahin rehna yahan. Aap Anurag ko jawab dena chahte the aapne de diya but main itna jaanti hoon ki ab yahan nahin raha jata. Jab tak main yahan rahungi yeh cycle isi tarah chalta rahega and I can’t do this anymore. Prernancy bhi show karne lagegi kuch dino main. Meri wajah se kukki , Maasi, Tanvi, yeh bacha sab suffer kare I don’t want this. Please” and with that a lone tear fell fromher eyes.
“Maine aaj taka apse kabhi koi explanation nahin manga kisi bhi cheez ke liye hain. To aaj kyun de rahin hain.“
With that he wipes the tear from her eyes.
“Apne pehli baar haq se kuch manga hain. Jo aap chahti hain waisa hi hoga. Main kal mansion khojna suru kar dunga and Durga Puja ke baad we will shift”
“thank you”
Next morning Prerna found Kukki angry at everyone and not talking. Hearing everything Rishab came in and asked whats going on. Kukki signalled that Papa had promised to take them to fair if mom was able to stop him from coming to office. So that is how you stopped me from going to the office.
“Ab papa ne promise kiya to papa lekar jayenge. App kukki ko lekar office aa jayega aaj hum wahi se chalenge”
Somewhere Anurag met menaka bose.Smart businesswoman infact he even reminded Anurag of Mr.Bajaj.
“So what do you want Mr.Basu”
Anurag explained everything. Menaka got up to leave. Anurag was shocked.
“you are not prepared Mr.Basu aur aapke bharose main Rishi ke aage nahin khadi honewali.”
Anurag was surprised so Menaka continued.
“Aap to ab tak sirf Mr.Bajaj the businessman ko jaante hain jo who puri duniya ko dekhata hain but you know nothing about how his mind works.”
“That is why I am asking for your help. I know that you want your daughter.”
“Aur aapko Prerna.”
“Main jaanto hoon ki who mujhse pyaar karti hain, agar use mauka mile she will come back I know that. “
Menaka liked the confidence. She was also intrigued as she wanted to meet the person for whom Rishab gave up his revenge with basus. All she had to do was use Anurag to get Rishab in trouble and then herself help Rishab so that she can get him and her daughter back.
“Ok main aapki help karungi.Sabse pehli baat agar Prerna paiso ke piche hoti to who kabhi use shaadi nahin karta. Aisa kuch hain jo aapko pata nahin hain. Doosri baat Rishab aap basus se nafrat karta hain I don’t know why but he does and more than anything else in the whole world. Usko bhul kar apne revenge ko bhul kar usnea ap logo ko chod diya and that is a big thing and there is a big reason behind it. Aur yeh reason nahin ho sakta ki he fell for Prerna. Kabhi nahin. Usne kyun kiya khud sochiye“
She got up to leave
“lastly agar Rishab sab kuch bhulkar aap logo ke liye apni nafrat bhul kar usne yeh kiya hain to aap prerna ko haasil nahin kar sakte, tab tak nahin jab tak Rishab khud na chahe ya prerna khud rishab se yeh demand na kare. “
“Call me when you have a plan and you are more prepared.”
Anurag kept revisiting what she had said. Main jail main tha. Woh aag bajaj industries main lagi thi. Bajaj nesab kuch take over kar liya tha. Lekin achanak se sab kuch hamare naam par ho gaya. Main chut gaya and with this he moved his car towards the lawyer’s house who had fought his case. He forced him to tell everything and he realized what has happened. He realized that it was all Prerna sacrifice to save him and he was so happy to realize that she loved her. He became even more determined to get Prerna back in her life. He went home and explained everything to Shivi and Anupam. He was about to go out and make a big scene but was stopped by Anupam.
“Kya karne jar aha hain Anu.Prerna ko batane ki use blackmail hone ki zaroorat nahin hain who kuch nahin kar sakta mera.”
“And you seriously think wo wapis aa jayegi. Anu mana ki prerna ne jo kiya tere liye kiya but prerna unse shaadi kar chuki hain who piche nahin hategi kabhi nahin. Main manta hoon ki tujhe lagta hain ki komolika ho ya koi aur tumhare pyaar ke bich main koi nahin aa sakta lekin farak hain farak hai Anu Mr.Bajaj komolika nahin hain. He is not evil hum sabne dekha hain. Selfish yes but for his daughter Anu not for revenge. Apni bachi ke liye apna revenge chod diya unhone and I think that is why even if you try Prerna wapis nahin aayegi ya woh use aane nahin denge“
“You are wrong Bajaj ko sirf apna revenge chahiye tha aur usne prerna ke samne ek natak kiya hain ki unhone apni beti ke liye shaadi ki use. Unki isi chaal unke khilaaf us karonga main. Kukki ke liye kiya na unhine lekin Prerna jab khud dekhege ki Kukki ki maa jinda hain uske saath rehna chahti hai to who khud chod degi use. Aur jab Miss bose ko apni beti mil jayegi to she will give me the deed to destroy Bajaj and that I will.”
