There are so many parallels and obvious hints being shown by the creatives that's its difficult to ignore or refuse them. Just in today's episode, there was so much.
When komolika says tum kya se kya bann gayye Anurag, how apt is that. For anurag is not anurag without prerna. "tum ho, toh main hoon, Warna main main nahi". Anurag said this long, long back and today komolika repeated it, along with saying koi sukoon nahi Hai tumhari zindagi me. Kaise hogi? "sukoon ho tum mera". Anurag said this to prerna. She is his sukoon and the day he pushed her, he killed it too.
Even prerna spoke about sukoon today. Her sukoon. She says when she sees anurag in difficulty now, she feels sukoon. Parth is outstanding these days. He's getting real meat to perform since he's the character right now who holds all the answers and he's doing full justice. The way anurag's expression changes here is brilliant. He's happy to know his prerna is getting sukoon. If that's what makes her happy, so be it. Anurag will not let anyone come in the way of prerna's happiness, not even his own well being. He knows what prerna's next move is going to be, 52% controlling stake in basu industries and he's thrilled to bits about it!! š His nonchalant attitude when his entire family is fretting about this development had me in splits. Never has someone been so utterly excited about his own barbaad like Anurag Basu. š
But both anurag and prerna are grossly miscalculation their own and the other's happiness and distress. And how ironically has it been highlighted today.
Prerna thinks her "revenge", Anurag's "barbaadi", is going to give her joy because it will give him pain.. Little does she know that every step she takes against him is going to give him joy, because all he wants is prerna's success and happiness.
Anurag thinks prerna is now living the life she deserves. He sees her outwardly confidence, her success and he has probably calculated that his betrayal and cruelty has indeed done what he set out to do. Prerna has well and truly moved on in life. But he hasn't realized that nothing like this has happened. She is still burning and stoking that fire in her and it's all because of him. There are instances when he sees what exactly has become of Prerna Sharma, the girl who loved him madly. And each of those instance brings a pang of guilt on him, each of which is highlighted. When prerna says his betrayal burnt all her fears, or when she says she no longer likes the color red. These words are daggers to anurag's heart because he knows he is responsible for what has become of Prerna. This woman standing in front of him today is neither prerna, nor is she happy. And soon prerna will realize that the man standing in front of her is not anurag either. And in this process of destruction and rebuilding, they will both resurrect each other.
P. S. How telling were the dances today? During anurag and prerna's dances with their respective current partners, their eyes were continuously drawn to each other across the dance floor. Anurag was not even making an effort to engage with komolika whereas prerna was making a visible effort to give all her attention to Bajaj, but failing time and again. Cut to their dance with each other and they are focussed on each other. Not once does their attention waver from each other. Whereas their respective partners are now left staring at them while they both don't spare them a glance. Bajaj and komolika today were truly the definition of on the outside looking in during the anupre dance.
And lovely song selection, especially hum bewafa. The lyrics and the flashback selection was apt.. The new director is getting in his stride I think, and it's exciting!
