A glimpse of Prerna Sharma

In all the devdas inspired OTT today, there was something that tugged at my heartstrings.. Today after a long time, I saw a glimpse of prerna Sharma.. The real prerna... The girl who had been shackled by the bonds of her sacrifice tried to break free today.. For a while now,Mrs Bajaj has buried the real prerna in a deep dark corner of her mind and heart, never allowing her to make her presence felt.. The real prerna has been buried by Prerna Bajaj, a wife and mother who takes her responsibility seriously and who believes in keeping her given word.. Prerna Bajaj had overpowered prerna Sharma. But Prerna Sharma woke up today. This prerna has only one truth and only one bond..... and that's anurag... She doesn't care about appearances, doesn't care about running through a house filled with her husband's guests screaming as though her very soul was getting ripped out of her. She is anurag's prerna and no force can stop her from running to him.

I especially loved the small scene which had prerna remembering anurag's words as she walked along the hallway in the hospital.. I hope the realization is dawning on her that in her effort to make him move on, she is destroying him.

And loved prerna following the sound of anurag's heartbeat and reaching the ICU.. This is drama sure, it's got nothing to do with reality but for the purpose of this story, the core of anurag and prernas story, this is vital.. Their heartstrings are joined, their very lives are so intertwined that one cannot be separated from the other.. Prerna can hear and follow the beat of anurag's heart because its calling out to her and she can hear him..

When a person is under extreme duress, they cannot think straight. At that time, the actions we do are unconscious, that's when our rational mind shuts down and automatic responses take over.. And prerna automatically signing as anurag's wife is one such moment.. Only prernas rational mind has acknowledged and accepted that she is not anurag's wife anymore.. Her deepest buried instinct is still of that girl who walked into BB claiming to be anurag's wife based on their temple marriage.. She still believes that in her heart... The rest is just for show.. Like a performer in disguise, she has now assumed the role of Mrs Bajaj.. But the real prerna is someone else and I'm so glad to see her today.

I loved the fb scenes in the hospital too.. Though the scenes were similar to the accident after her haldi during NB track but I would gladly accept this Prerna Sharma over that living shell they are showing as Prerna Bajaj.

Regarding Prerna trying to break free from this marriage isn t possible as I remember despite the fact that she was staying at BB as his wife in Komos time, but in the holi sequence in her drunk state too she wanted a social marriage with him. That clearly shows the importance of social marriage for her. So she would not try to set free from this marriage.

But that's when she is thinking using her brains. But whenever Anurag is in danger her heart overpowers her brain and she loses herself completely. So that's what we saw today in the Devdas type sequence.

Another beautiful post Hope....This post along with Abhiya's post would have helped many to connect back to the Prerna we saw in today's episode. And as you have explained in the bolded part, this is the moment i started connecting with Pre in today's episode. As you said, the whole scene was dramatised; yet the symbolism it carried is what touched us and gave us the happiness of getting our AnuPre back. Hope, this is leading to something positive for AnuPre.

To those who will ques Pre's love for Anu (including me),

Prerna will keep running to Anurag all along her life.. Dard mein, tanhaiye mei.. Sath mei, ruswayi mein..

This is the beauty of AnuPre.. Do log payar mein sath ji sakte hain, mar saktey hain. Par el dusre ke liye jina wo bhi ek duare se door rehke!! Keep shipping the marriage bond... We have thousands of example of this kind of love around us... But the one AnuPre has given is unmatchable. ^_^
