I went to insta this morning and someone has put up the scene when Anurag says "Jiju Anurag ... sab ek hi to bath hai. It suddenly occurred to me why I had felt so shocked by the recent events and maybe even betrayed by the character of Anurag.
Like Prerna I too had been given the wrong signals when he told me to remove someone else's hand from her shoulder. I also got confused by all the tell me what you think of me, I am so affected by you, I think of you are more than like etc. These sort of things are never said between friends in real life unless they are the precursor to something else. Ever.
The flashback scene and him saying why are you not talking to me reminded me of another scene when after Anurag went to Jaan's house to and Prerna was on the phone to someone who wanted to speak to her mom, he just kept circling her to just be around her. Like a bee with honey. You can't behave like that I real life and not appreciate that you are giving someone mixed signals.
I know the dialogues the writers have given Prerna are all saying Anurag is so good etc this is all my fault and misunderstanding. But it's not. It's not your misunderstanding.
I know because I actually did this to a guy once. He was my best friend and had been for the first two years of uni. He loved me and I loved him too but not as a boyfriend. And I was so young that I didn't know how to make things clear without losing him as a friend. So I kept being affectionate to him and treating him like I always had and that was the wrong thing to do because it kept giving him hope. And I was wrong because I hurt him. And Anurag is also wrong. I hope there is a dialogue in which Anurag acknowledges that he maybe messed things up and that was unfair to Prerna.
I also hope Anurag really explains to us the viewers what the hell is the story behind mishka. Is she his first love? How long ago was this? Is this a the long term girlfriend and if so and he loved her why is he off her now? Has he changed? Why did he say he doesn't believe in love? You owe us an explanation Anurag!
