ok, this is really long. basically, all the trouble started when Om (Paro's hubby and Shruti's dad) died. For about a year they thought it was an accident (Mumbai floods); but Paro found out that he had been murdered. So she basically goes trhough lots of detective-giri to find ut who it is. She thinks its Suyash Mehra, a business man who's in love with her (he came after Om's death, so thats not the reason for his death). Suyash is in possession of a lot of money of hers, and to free that and get him punished for Om's death, she marries him. For three months. She sends him to jail at the end and gets divorced. During this time, Shruti grows attached to Suyash coz she gets the father figure she missed. But when she finds out the "truth", she hates Suyash.

Anyway, turns out Suyash is NOT the killer - it is someone in Paro's own house. Suyash's wife Rajeshwari Mehra comes back (she left him yrs ago a la Meneka Bajaj), and she hates Paro coz she "stole" Suyash. Paro finds out that Rajeshwari and Trishna (the crazy woman you see these days) killed Om - Rajeshwari because he refused a dodgy business deal of hers, and Trishna because she thought he cheated her (she was insane, to help her dad out, Om pretended to marry her - but he never loved her or had any relation with her, but she thought he married her for her money).

Then, there is the baby swap🤢 Gunn (Krishna's wife and Paro's bahu), Shruti and S's younger sis Sonu are all pregnant. In a car accident engineered by Rajo, Gunn loses her baby. Shruti has a baby girl but is scared because her jerk of a hubby Sameer wants a boy. Sonu doesn't want her kid. So, Sonu gives her boy to Shruti, Shruti gives her girl to Gunn and Sonu pretends she miscarried. Paro knows this but no one else does. Krishna finds out that the baby girl isn't his, and he accuses Gunn of having an affair. Paro begs Shruti to tell the truth, but she is so scared of Sameer's reaction taht she turns against Paro.

So, Paro finds this out, but Trishna has already destroyed the proof and killed Paro's son Krishna, coz he found out too. She turns the family against Paro. She makes Paro believe that Sameer (Shruti's hubby) killed Om. This gets Shruti incensed. They argue. Paro then tries to prove that Trishna is the killer but no one believes her and the evidence is turned against her. The whole family testifies against her in court, saying she killed both Om and Krishna. She is sentenced to life.

In jail, she meets Narayani Devi/Maasi. Maasi offers her a way out. They fake Paro's death and move to London. After 20 years, Paro is back as Janki Devi and hellbent on destroying Trishna. No one is able to prove that she is really Paro, though Trishna believes this. The last we saw, Shruti needed a kidney transplant and Paro secretly donated hers. Shruti is wondering whether Janki Devi is her mom, and I think she is beginning to repent her actions.

OMG Paro is a devi!! She sacrificed so much...n she is such a solid woman!! OH MAN!!!

This is nothing - she sacrificed a helluva lot more for that good-for-nothing family 🤢 Gaurav, Om's bro - a spineless coward; the oldies who do nothing but stand there when people accuse Paro; Chaya, the archetypal nanad, think Komo only more annoying 🤢 - ever since Om died the only people who have truly been there for Paro are Shruti (well, before this whole story), Gunn and Kamal, Paro's devar and Om's youngest bhai...Kamal is the drunk guy you'll see these days - he's a cutie and he's Krishna's dad...

Yeah, they had this crappy track where they found out that Shruti and Gayatri had been switched at birth and G was Paro's real daughter. But if you ask me, Paro still loves S more.

What happened was that G and Sameer entered the show as fiancees, but S and S fell in love. G married S, then they split up, but by this time, G was preggers. S&S got together. Sasha (i love him!) kidnapped Shruti because Pallavi told him to; then, G kidnapped S because she liked all the attention that she was getting with Shruti gone. Shruti escaped by had an accident which meant that in the future, she would be at risk if she ever had a child. Paro found out and was MAD at G. G was really repentant so when she had her baby, she gave him to Shruti. After a few months, she came back and took him away w/o letting anyone know. Sameer went mad and this is when Shruti decided to try for a baby to pls him, even though it meant a huge risk to her life. Obvi after this S was really worried when she had a girl coz sameer was ranting on about a boy etc etc etc...
