i loved prem and i don't think he should have been killed off...BUT i do understand WHY he was, i agree in that nothing could have driven anu and prerna apart except this. Misunderstandings, Bajaj and other such plots would hav separated them for some time, but eventually they would have got back together. But the death of their child was what drove them apart finally and fully--even thinking about getting back together would have hurt because the zakhm of the death of the child will always be between them. even if they've stopped blaming each other now, there will always be that little voice in the back of their heads that says "what if anu could have.." or "what if prerna hadn't..." or even "what if the two of us weren't so busy fighting about Bajaj, and then we could have paid attention to our son". That will always remain between them. also, it was necessary in order to bring bajaj and pre together. no matter how nice bajaj was to pre before prem's death, AFTER his death (when it mattered most) was when he supported her when no one else did. Prem's death was the catalyst for their moving to Panchemeshwar for eight years. so, it was necessary in terms of the plot, but man!! i loved that kid! he was cute as hell!
