The episode starts with Meera walking and thinking that Maithli is Ganga's life and it's the same for Maithli, she would die if separated from Ganga. Some women come and invite Meera for a pooja the next day which is kept for the long life of their husbands. Meera says she will surely come.
Maasi is about to open the envelope when Bani sees her and to stop her switches of the lights. Maasi says that the light also had to go at this time and it has started going often. Bani tells Maasi to go get a candle since Ganga might be feeling scared. When Maasi goes she takes it and hides it, locking the cupboard. Maasi comes back and asks Bani what is she doing out of bed and she says she just got up to help Maasi. Maasi leaves and Bani says no one can ever know what's in that envelope.
Meera enters and Jai worriedly asks her where she was and why is her phone not available. Meera says her battery died but not to worry since Ganga is fine. Jai says thank god and Meera says her grandmother calls Jai Ganga's angel because he worries so much about her. He tells her he doesn't worry a lot and Meera just smiles and leaves, Jai smiles.
The women at the chawl kinda area are preparing for the Makar Sankranti pooja. Ganga asks Maasi what are they doing and she tells her they are preparing for a pooja where the wife fasts for her husbands long life. She goes inside and coaxs Bani to fast for her father but Bani brushes her off a bit rudely and leaves. Ganga apologises and blames herself for always making Bani cry. Bani says nothing like that and hugs her thinking that now she has lost the right to fast for Ganga's dad too.
Meera is preparing for the pooja and Jigyasa asks her has she kept some Jagrata. Meera says no and she is doing so for Shivji's pooja since it's Makar Sankranti and a monday, shivji's day hence making it very auspicious. Karuna makes a comment about it being for a husbands long life. Meera goes to Jai and asks him to come with her in the evening but he says he doesn't believe in all that and brushes her off. Meera gives him his breakfast and leaves.
The mandir is lit up and mantra's are going on. Many women come there and are offering prayers. The women of the chawl are discussing and Meera comes and everyone is happy to see her and praises her thali. They realise they are only 6 and need 7 for the pooja and are wondering where to get the 7th married lady from. Bani is passing and Meera calls her and says this is our 7th married woman. Bani says no and the women say the same and say no one has seen her husband ever and whether he exists and it will be inauspicious to include her. Meera speaks up for Bani and says that agreed her husband is not here but till a woman has her mangalsutra on she is a suhagan and she has all the rights to pray for her husbands long life. Ganga comes with the thali. The women ask Meera if her husband is coming in the evening because it is necessary for him to be present there to tie the thread. She makes an excuse for him not coming. Bani says she can see it in her eyes she is waiting for him and says she will pray that Meera's husband comes. Meera prays for the same for Bani and says wherever her husband is he comes.
Jai gets out of his car with a bunch of flowers and is climbing the stairs of the mandir. Meera is thinking about him. He however goes to the grave of Krishna and Atharva.
Ganga is talking to a few friends when she see's Jai and screams Khadoos Uncle. She asks him whether he has come for her he says no, she says that she knows he has come for meera. Jai asks her whether Meera is here she says yes she is in the pooja, praying for you. Ganga asks him to come he declines saying he doesn't believe in God. Ganga says he should come and at least tell her hi to which he says no he has to go but Ganga insists and tells him to come for her if nothing else and says he can meet her mother too and takes him up.
Up Meera's mangal sutra breaks and Bani saves it. She says she will repair it and goes with it. Jai comes and on the way Bani's thali falls down but Jai carries on since Ganga is pulling him inside. He goes and Meera is suprised to see him and Ganga says she can thank her and even get her chocolates if she wishes. Meera tells Jai that he hasn't met Ganga's mother and goes to call Bani.
Jai and Ganga have a chit chat where she says that he hasn't asked her how she is feeling. he says he heard her talking to her friends so he wondered whether he should ask such a brave girl. Ganga says she would have been a little happy if he did and he asks her to which she replies it didn't hurt her and she never cried. Jai calls her naughty and Ganga says everyone calls her that. He picks Ganga up as she wants to ring the temple bells.
Meera comes with Bani and calls out to Jai when Bani realises it is indeed Jai. Episode ends.
