In a glittering ceremony at The Leela Kempinski, Mumbai –the charming Manasvi Mamgal was chosen as the winner for the Indian leg of the hugely prestigious International model hunt, L'Oreal Paris Elite Model Look India 2006 in association with Zoom. Erica Packard and Nicki Sehgal were announced as the first runners-up of the title while Akanksha Arora was selected as the second runner-up of this mega model hunt. Judged by a panel of stunning and smart fashionable style icons including Elite supermodel and reigning Miss India-Universe Neha Kapur, charming Amrita Arora, ex-ramp queen Mehr Jessia, ace fashion designer Manish Malhotra, stand-up comedian Ash Chandler and Michaela Goddard – Head – Scouting, Elite Worldwide, the winner of the Indian leg of this hugely prestigious international model hunt has won an opportunity to represent India at the Elite Model Look International 2006 to be held in Thailand in November 2006 while the three runners-up will be the Indian beauties participating in the Elite Model Look Asia Pacific 2006 to be held in Shanghai in November 2006.
Besides the final winners, Soni Agarwal and Apoorva Vishvanathan were the lucky two winners of the Canon Miss Photogenic title while Ekta Chaudhury was announced as the winner of the Trussardi Prima Donna Award. All the winners will be in a modeling contract with the prestigious Elite India and have won a free one-year membership to Leena Mogre's gym.
All the finalists have been undergoing a well-monitored regime at The Leela Palaces & Resorts, Goa under the supervision of fitness trainer Leena Mogre accompanied by grooming and make-up sessions taken by the renowned make-up artist and stylist Ambika Pillai, while Aparna Behl was the choreographer.
The gorgeous Rakshanda Khan anchored the glamorous event at The Leela with captivating performances by renowned percussionist Taufiq Qureshi, Rahul Saxena, Woody & Jonqui and classical orchestra troupe, the Bombay Strings Quintet. The contestants walked down the ramp showcasing Pantaloon's latest collection. The city's glitterati showed up in full force at the event with RJ Siddharth Kannan and Vibhinita Verma , last year's winner of L'Oreal Paris Elite Model Look India, model Puja Missra, actress Shweta Tiwari of Iqbal fame to name a few.
What sets this model hunt apart from the rest is that L'Oreal Paris Elite Model Look India 2006- from the auditions, training sessions to the making of India's international face, will be aired in the form of a reality series from September 23rd onwards exclusively on Zoom, India's premier glamour and lifestyle television channel.
