Coming back to Angad and Shiv, I think the character of Shiv is less complicated and well-etched one (until his reln with Ipshita came to limelight). It had the potential to be sweet love story, something that does not make the audience tired of... two people who never dreamt that they would love each other have been binded by the marital bond and then how it goes on from there... Shiv's character will have a great potential for acting. IQ has done quite justice in all the scenes (in the pre-Ips episode)... His acting was quite commendable and he portrayed various range of emotions quite well... So here the well-defined characterization of the initial Shiv helped IQ so much to excel in the character. Also his acting became quite matured since KYPH days...
Having watched KYPH from start to finish here's what I think about Angad. The character of Angad was well etched out in parts... But in between the story was butchered with myriad twists and turns, with unwanted miusunderstandings, relationships, situations etc., Also Kripa's goody acts that result in no one's gain but create a lot of pain in her relationship with Angad has fully spoiled the story... Each time the story writers, they create a misunderstanding, or some kind of situation such that Angad and Kripa will have to separate and audience will be waiting eagerly for them to get back together, again they will spoil it by adding some misunderstanding or some crappy situation. They have stretched the audience patience so much that towards the end when Angad and Kripa got united audience were not that greatly happy as they should have been.... I got so much pissed off seeing how the story was proceeding, I felt like naming the serial as 'Kaise yeh galat femiya hain' or 'Kaise yeh haalat hain' or some thing like that. In such a situation the graph of the character becomes very confusing and it becomes difficult for any actor to do justice to his role. I think even in that situation IQ with his raw energy and sincerity had tried to do justice to his role and deserves to be appreciated. I think even though he ws not supported by the story he gave his best and tried to elevate the serial...
Thus I prefer Angad than Shiv. Also while portraying Angad he was more fresh, energetic and vivacious in his performances and also looked his best. There seems to be a streak of tiredness when he is portraying Shiv. Maybe IQ did need the break. So I say I liked him more as Angad than Shiv.
