MaNan were in manik's car, driving to murthy house. Well, no gold for guessing how...because manik malhotra has his ways. Manik tried speaking during the 15 minutes drive, but everytime he was shut up by mrs. Nandini manik malhotra, with just one line of hers, "shut up manik and concentrate on the road. I don't want to land up in an accident!" and the charismatic mr. Manik malhotra timidly listened to his tough wife.

When the car haulted at its destination, nandini made a quick move to be out of reach of manik, but manik was double quick and stopped her. It was difficult for nandini to say no to him even once but here she was speaking nothing but in negatives to him. But ! she has to do it...it is the matter of her self respect!

"nandini, please!" manik started.

"please what manik???" nandini hit back at him "are you of the opinion that i am over reacting?? You think i am making a mole hill out of nothing?? That i am a sadist?? Its giving me pleasure to have you following after me with that sorry of yours?? Tell me?? come'on tell me?? you think you are the only one worried for your sister? I don't love her?? I tried to make her happy...i could sense where her happiness lies...and i worked on it to help her reach there...WITH YOUR PERMISSION...did you hear me? with your permission! But what did you do??? You blamed my brother? Indirectly you hit me!!..." she took a deep breath to calm herself down and then continued "i won't forgive you...no...atleast not until i feel that you are really sorry!" with that nandini turned around but manik held her wrist , when she didn't turn, he moved and stood in front of her. Nandini didn't look up into his eyes. Manik was hurt by her words, but he also knew that she was right. Manik held her palm and asked looking earnestly at her , "nandini, please don't leave...just tell me what should i do to make you believe that i am really sorry..."

Nandini looked up in anger and frustration. God! This boy wants me to tell him what to do! She jerked away her hand "manik you are impossible!" she commented angrily shaking her head in disbelief and walked away. Manik stood their like a 5 year old kid who does not know how to pacify his mumma!

Manik started contemplating his next move. Should he follow her to his in -laws house? But what difference will it make? He will keep on saying sorry and she would keep on refusing him. Nah! Think some other way manik! Kya karun...kuch samajh ni araha!

Manik sat down on the bonnet of the car and started thinking, looking at the engagement ring on his finger. All the moments from the past started flashing in front of his eyes. The first time he saw her in that black dress looking as elegant as a queen, his first dance with her where he noticed the mole in her eyebrows, the strange feelings that he had when he had looked at her luscious , full lips. Manik smiled to himself remembering how he had been sceptical about marrying so young and how this has been the best decision of his life. He remembered her bridal look and how his heart had fluttered watching her nervously coming to him. He remembered how difficult it had been for him to exercise self control during their first intimacy after marriage. How he worried and still worries that probably he won't be enough for her! His sense of insecurity!! He remembered how pressurised he had felt during their first love making session. Manik could not control the chuckle remembering that how boyish , immature and naive , he had felt. He had been in a frenzy, not knowing where to start, how to do, how to make her experience the best feeling ever, how to get her to the peak of love and passion. How idiot of him! He remembered how caring she has been towards his family. Till date, he has not heard a single complaint or negative word about her from his mom, dad, mukti , cabir, alia, Dhruv, no one, not even the staffs! That's how much good she has been. Even the media loves her and keeps praising her in articles and columns. I have been so lucky to have her but i think i haven't valued her , that's why i am seeing this day that she is so much angry with me that she decided to stay away from me. i have to win her heart, show her how much i love her and that whatever i said was in the heat of the moment, i have never disrespected her in my heart and can never ever imagine to do that even! She will come back to me! she has to...!

"sir" his guards voice brought manik out of his thoughts and he looked at him.

"sir ek ghante se jyada ho gya hai...aur aap ase hi baithe hain..." he didn't finish and looked at manik for any orders. Manik looked at the window of nandini's room longingly for a few seconds then turned to his guard. "ramesh, main aaj raat yaha par ase hi baithne wala hun..." manik informed and then shifted a little to adjust himself more comfortably on the car's bonnet.

"sir, main bare sahib ko kya bolunga??" the guard asked. Manik got up from his lying position "unhe q kuch bolna hai??? Dad ko pta ni chalna chahye ki main raat mein ghar wapis ni aya tha" manik spoke angrily and the guard nodded apologetically "sorry sir, mera matlab tha ki agar unhone ni pucha toh ni pta chalega par agar pucha toh..."

"nahi pta chalega, tum relax karo...main manage kar lunga..." manik ordered.

"ji sir, main aur mere sathi , yahi hain apki suraksha k lye aap nischint rahiye"

Manik suddenly felt guilty for them "nahi tumlog ghar jao...yaha main akela hi thk hun"

"nahi sir ...hamara kaam hai apke piche shadow ki tarah rehna...agar aap yaha hain toh hum ghar par kaise reh sakte hain!...islye aap madam ji ko manane k tarike sochiye ...hum apki suraksha ka sochte hain" the guard giggled a little at the end and manik glared. He wondered how ramesh knew what was going on.

As ramesh saluted and turned to leave, manik stopped him by asking "ramesh tumhe kse pta ki main yaha kya kar raha hun??"

"sir, biwi jab gussa hoti hai toh mayka chali jati hai...aur phir hum husbands ko unhe manane k lye kitne papar belne parte hain! Islye maine socha ki agar aap apne sasural k samne ase baithe hain toh yahi reason hogi..." ramesh smiled.

"matlab tumhri biwi v mayka chali jati hai??" manik asked amazed.

"sir 5 years ki shadi mein gyi toh ek baar v ni hai par dhamki har dusre din sunne ko mil hi jati hai" ramesh's smile grew wider. Manik smiled too.

Manik thought to himself that he doesn't want to be like other husbands who fight with their wives and then spend time in solving the issue. This is the last time that nandini has been upset with him, he will make sure of this!

With this thought when manik looked at the window, to his surprise he found nandini looking back at him in shock. Manik raised his hand to wave a bye but nandini quickly pulled the curtains! Manik looked at his raise hands in disappointment. Next time he will raise his hand quickly, manik decided

Nandini had entered the house, asked about everyone's whereabouts from the servant, on getting satisfactory replies, she had gone to her room. after freshening up, she lied down on her bed, but sleep was far far away, so she checked her phone. She checked manik's whatsapp last seen and found that he has been last online even before the party. How to know if he is fine?? Mukti and others must be sleeping, it won't look good to wake them up. As time passed, nandini's restlessness grew. She scolded herself. If she can't stay away then why did she choose this path? But her heart kept on asking is he fine?' and nandini had no answer. She fiddled with her engagement ring for a while lying on bed but then got up when uneasiness increased. She moved towards the window and looked at the stars. She remembered that manik had told her that he loves star gazing. It gives him peace. May be it will give her peace too, today. Suddenly her eyes fell on manik sitting like a king on the car's bonnet and nandini's eyes bulged out of her sockets. What the hell is he doing here? Why hasn't he gone home yet! Just then manik looked in her direction and smiled. Nandini felt her insides melting but she couldn't let him have his way so easily, so she pulled the curtains. As nandini turned around away from the window a slight smile adorned her lips. But she suddenly remembered his harsh words and her face fell. She sat down on the bed but got up again, as the urge to see him overpowered her. She peeked from behind the curtain and found him lying with his arm under his head and looking at the sky. It is looking like he is out on picnic or something, nandini thought mosquitoes will bite na toh khud hi chala jaega!

Nandini's phone started ringing and she knew it was manik, because she saw him using his phone. She didn't pick up. He rang up again. She didn't pick up again. This time it didn't ring , instead a whatsapp message popped up.

"curtains k piche se chup k q dekh rahi ho?? Agar tum mujhe dekhogi toh mujhe v tumhe dekhne ka haq hai...remove the curtains!"

Nandini felt like caught while cheating , so she had to justify herself so she replied.

"i am not peeking from behind the curtain. I am sleeping."

As she went back to bed and sat down , she received a message.

"acha?? Agar mere bina nind arahi hai toh so jao...i won't disturb you...good night"

Nandini could feel disappointment colouring his tone. She herself was disappointed as she wanted the conversation to continue, but ...couldn't.

"good night"

She replied and kept her phone aside. She tried sleeping, by changing sides, listening music, counting till 100, but nothing worked as her favourite pillow, manik , was sleeping on his car , outside her house. She checked the time. It was already 4 a.m. she got up and went to the window and found his car still there and he inside it. He didn't go the whole night! She decided to talk to him after freshening up. how long is he planning to stay here!!. She has to convince him out of this madness.

When nandini came to the window after freshening up, she found manik driving away. She sighed in relief.

Manik sneaked back into his home as it was early morning. He sent a message to nandini

"good morning sweetheart..:-)"

he saw the two blue ticks almost immediately. He smiled realising that she was thinking about him. He waited for her reply but he saw that she went offline. He frowned on not getting a reply, but helpless he kept his phone back and got busy for the day.

Nandini had been admiring his whatsapp profile photo, when she received his text. She read the text but decided not to reply back. Keeping the phone aside, she went to check on her mother. Nandini took leave from office because ankit and shruti wanted to have fun. Nandini invited navya and isha too! It would be a good getogether after so many years and that would help her to distract from the thoughts of manik. It was already noon, nandini had been expecting some gesture from manik, like a bouquet of roses with a love note or even some gift, but here there was no such sign and nandini had been fuming. Of course she would have refused to take the roses or gifts because she is angry, but atleast he should have sent one!! Nandini was behaving like a typical girl...who wants a guy to pacify her but when he does she has to show tantrums. Nandini knew in her heart of heart that manik is a guy who will always bear her tantrums!

That's why it was irking her that he is making no move to pacify her. The day passed by , anyhow, jaise taise. Nandini's heart was into nothing. She had been laughing, talking, doing everything that was expected of her, yet she was never fully there where she should have been! No messages, no calls ! how can manik do this to her! Arghhh...manik!!! this was her reaction throughout the day.

After the dinner, everyone retired to their room, so did nandini. Is manik not going to do anything to make her feel better, loved? This was the thought that nandini was dreading.
