CHAPTER -28
Manik dropped Nandini to her hostel and left to his home.
Nandini went to her room and changed her dress and came and sat infront of the mirror.
She looked at herself in the mirror and blushed remembering the moments spent with Manik.
Nandini went and lied on her bed lost in Manik's thoughts when her phone beeped.
It was a message from Manik.
Manik - Thinking about me????
Nandini smiled seeing the message.
Nandini typed the message - Yes...
But then deleted it and wrote - Nahi toh... Mai to sorahi thi...
Manik - Acha... Sorahi thi. Pehle Jo message type Kia wo send nahi Kia aur yeh message send kardiya.
Nandini looked here and there to check if Manik was present here.
She got confused as to how Manik came to know that she deleted the first message that she typed.
Nandini sat up straight on the bed and typed- Manik tumhe kaise pata ?
Manik - Bas pata chalgaya. That means I was right. To batao...
Nandini - Kya?
Manik - The first message that you typed. Missing me???
In the meantime Nandini's roommate who was sleeping got up and said - Nandini please switch off the lights. I am trying to sleep here.
Nandini - Ok . Sorry...
Saying this Nandini switched off the lights and messaged to Manik.
Nandini - Manik hum kal college me baat karenge. Bye. Good Night.
Manik - Arey Nandini but ... Ok Fine. Good Night.
With this Nandini kept the phone aside and went to sleep.
On the other hand,Manik kept looking at the messages of Nandini again and again and finally sleep overtook him.
Next morning Manik's house -
Manik got up early and got ready.
He called Nandini's number and said that he would be picking her up from the hostel in an hour.
But Nandini said that she had some work so she would be getting late .
She asked Manik not to pick her up and that she would directly meet him at college.
After a lot of convincing from Nandini, Finally Manik agreed half-heartedly.
Manik went down to have breakfast.
Unlike other days, Nyonika was also present at the breakfast table.
Nyonika - Good Morning Beta.
Manik - Good Morning.
Nyonika was surprised that Manik has replied to her greeting in a polite
manner. She felt happy inside.
She didn't dare to ask him anything as she knew about his mood swings.
But she kept on admiring her son. He looked so happy that day.
Nyonika prayed to God- God Please mere Bete ko hamesha aise hi Khush rakhna. Aur mujhe Kuch nahi chahiye.
Manik finished the breakfast and without Looking at Nyonika said bye and left to college.
That was something very unexpected. Nyonika - Ye Manik aaj suddenly itna Acha kyu behave kar raha hai mere sath? But Jo bhi ho wo Khush hai wahi kafi hai mere liye.
Manik reached college and went to attend the morning lecture.
After the class he went to Nandini's class and saw that Nandini wasn't there.
He asked some of her classmates. They said that Nandini still hasn't come.
So Manik dialled Nandini's number but it was not reachable.
He sent her a message as to where she was.
Then he went to the canteen.
There he saw Soha along with his friends.
Shaurya - Hey Manik... What's up buddy. Tu hai kaha itne dino se.
Manik - Hi guys... Kuch nahi yaar bas wo mai.
Jay- Bas wo kya yaar. Friends ko itni jaldi bhoolgaya tu. Hume rehne de but what about Soha how can you avoid her. You guys toh love each other na. Kya chal kya raha hai.
Manik looked at Soha and said- Listen Soha actually wo...
Soha looked at Manik and said- Manik don't you think tum ye bet ko Kuch zyada hi seriously le rahe ho. Just forget it na. Let's forget about the revenge and the bet.
Manik - Guys I wanted to say something. Mai actually yehi kehna chahta tha ki I am not continuing with the bet. Finish the chapter here.
Soch lo ki mai bet haar gaya.
Jay- Haar gaya???? No Manik you have won the bet . You had to make Nandini fall for you. And you have succeeded in it. She is head over heels in love with you. She is so stupid that she fell for you so easily without thinking twice.
And all Manik's friends started making fun of Nandini.
Manik in anger mode - Guys stop it. Don't say anything about Nandini .
Shaurya - Ok Ok. Don't get hyper. But tum maano ya na maano you have won the bet. Congratulations yaar.
All this was heard by Nandini who was standing at the door of the canteen.
Nandini couldn't believe what she heard.
Manik was just fooling her just for the sake of some bet.
Nandini wouldn't have believed about it if she had heard it from someone else but Manik himself was mentioning about the bet.
She had tears in her eyes.
Manik's back was facing towards Nandini so he couldn't see her.
Viren saw Nandini and signalled Manik to look back.
Manik looked back and his world froze to see Nandini standing there.
Nandini had tears in her eyes.
Manik - Nandini listen it's not what you are thinking. I can explain.
Shaurya - Kyu jhoot bol raha hai yaar. Bata de use ki it was just a bet and she means nothing to you.
Manik - Shaurya just shut up.
Jay- No Manik we won't shut up. Tum kya samjhana chahte ho usey. She means nothing to you but Soha does. Why do you even care for Nandini and what she feels. You should care about Soha coz you love her.
Nandini got another shock that Soha was Manik's girlfriend.
She looked into Manik's eyes and asked - Manik is it true?
Soha -Ofcourse it is true.

Soha showed her pictures with Manik.
Nandini looked at Manik but he couldn't meet her eyes.
Nandini - So she is right. How could you do this Manik? I trusted you but you... you broke my trust.
She was crying her heart out.
Manik's mind went blank. He didn't know how to react.
Nandini couldn't take it longer and ran from there crying.
Soha smirked and looked at Jay and Shaurya who in turn signalled a thumbs up to Soha as their plan was successful.
