On demand!! N it is lamba haan
Random Moment 5
I looked at her with an irritated expression while my 15 month baby was busy in her task. She dipped her finger in the bowl and wrapped a noodle thread and swooshed in her mouth relishing the mayonnaise sauce. She flashed her gums every time she licked the cream off her lips. Her expression said she liked it and why not her Daddy had personally supervised the chef to make it exactly the way she liked.
"Nandu usse ghoorna band karogi", Manik interrupted my gaze at her spooning his pasta, "Let her enjoy the meal na...my poor baby cried so much", he brushed her hair and she showered an endearing smile at him.
"Enjoy huh!! She spoiled the whole evening Manik... Kitne dino baad hum movie dekhne gaye they", I spoke a little louder to turn a few heads in our direction. It was almost after ages that we had come for a movie and his darling daughter ruined it all.
"I had told you she doesn't like Shahrukh Khan", Manik shrugged his shoulders and stated with an I know it all attitude.
My face frowned into a big O. Who doesn't like SHAHRUKH?? It was no ways that my daughter didn't like SRK when her mother was a crazy fan. I nudged her to spare me some attention from her noodles and she smiled while trying to manage the single noodle thread in between her gums. Her smile made me frown. It was just half an hour back that she was crying oceans in the theatre.
She was sleeping when we had got her to the theatre and woke up during the first song. She was fine till the song played infact bounced on Manik's lap to let us know she liked it. But then let out her first wail the moment it ended. I cradled her, Manik patted her but she wouldn't stop. She was scared firstly the dark theatre and more so because of the robust and scary looking men on screen. The rest of the people in the PVR hurled silent curse's at us probably for interrupting their SRK blockbuster. Manik quickly got up and took her out in the light. He stood near the door, the doorkeeper passed all sorts of sympathetic looks at him and Manik let out some forced smiles while managing the little one in his arms. She licked the lollipop that Manik held for her to distract his daughter. She had happily distracted and indulged in the lollipop when she suddenly noted her Mommy was missing. What if Daddy left her Mommy in the dark room. She let out another wail louder than the previous one and more stronger than the surround sound. I pulled myself out of the seat and rushed to the door to get my baby. She hopped from Manik's arms the moment she saw me. She had actually got scared thinking that Mommy was lost. She rubbed her nose on my collar to assure it was me and I cradled her to pacify and Manik pulled us out of there and my Chennai Express dreams were crushed.
"Manik I want to see the film", I nagged like a toddler smooth enough to give complex to Manini sitting at the restaurant lounge lounge.
"Nandu you saw na princess was getting scared", he tried to cover up for his daughter silently thanking her for saving him from the movie. Possibly all the guys of the world had some problem with Shahrukh.
I made a grumpy sulking face at him, "You don't care for me anymore...it was so long since we had gone out, watched a movie together", I complained like a kid. I did miss our time together.
"Now that's not fair Nandu...we came for a movie ab Manini ne rona shuru kar diya..toh main kya karu", he stated helplessly and now his daughter was trying to feed us the noodles sitting on the middle of the table.
It irritated me to see Manik so okay with it. He didn't miss our alone time. He was happy to share me with his baby not that I wasn't. Manini had definitely lit up our lives with all the possible happiness, her smiles her giggles her cute language which only we understood made our life earthly heaven. Yet I missed my time with Manik sometimes and more when he didn't miss it.
I made a face at him and got up from the chair. Manik was a little taken aback at my behavior. Although he knew I was upset but that moron thought I was upset over the movie.
"Nandu hum ghar pe dekh lenge yaar...I swear I will create the perfect romantic ambience for you...like the exact Shahrukh wala romantic", he shouted behind me without caring that we were in a public place and he had to pull brakes over the expression of his affection. I rolled my eyes at him and moved out.
It was raining cats and dogs outside. But it looked beautiful, the drizzling drops shimmered under the beautiful lighting. Everything looked so ethereal washed and bathed in the rain. I felt a few drops sprinkle on my skin and almost immediately a soft smile played on my lips. I stretched my arm out to feel it more. It felt awesome and how could I possibly stop myself from drenching more. I stepped out of the shed and raised my face to feel the rain drops drops trickle through my face and down my body. It was so good almost gave me a sense of liberation.
"Nandu!! What are you doing? Get inside I said... you will catch a cold", Manik jumped like a frog with little Manini in his arms. But the young one seemed to enjoy seeing this Mommy, she giggled noisily and clapped her hands in excitement. She bounced in Manik's arms to join Mommy.
"Manikkk!!..its so beautiful.. Please come na", I chirped happily and flapped my hands to call him. Manik stared at me with a panicky look. He did think I had lost it to be jumping like a crazy kid in the water. He yelled and warned, begged and pacified but I hardly paid heed. Manik knew now he hinself had to deal with it in his way. He quickly stopped a waiteress and asked her to hold Manini who in turn twisted her lips that Daddy wasn't taking her. He handed her and hurried to me.
I dodged and ran to tease him and Manik's annoyance was being fueled. He huffed like a bull and grabbed my wrist when I tried to escape him.
"Pagal ho tum...koi bheegta hai aaise...its the first rain of the monsoons... You will catch a cold", he peeled his jacket off and tried to cover me but I dropped it on the ground and giggled mindlessly. I ran to Manini, she had already raised her hands for me to get her with a big bright smile but I couldn't possibly get her wet. Manik followed me and sulked to get me in the shed but I was enjoying too much.
"Aaaccchhooo", I sneezed rubbing my nose and a devilish glare crossed his face. I made an innocent face to melt Manik's building anger.
"Manik you have become so boring...pehle you were so much happening... We used to do such crazy stuff but now you just have to behave like an overtly organised and responsible father 24*7...its such a beautiful and romantic weather...mera Manik hota toh kya kya karta", I looked around with dreamy eyes inhaling the fragrance of the beautiful ambience.
"Kya karta?", his deep hoarse voice suddenly broke my trance and made me look at him. His eyes bore into mine with a penetrating look. His hand left my wrist and travelled down and stopped at my waist. His warm touch was in contrast to the dripping cold rain drops. My gaze froze at him. He dug his fingers on my soft skin and pulled me close to his chest.
"Bolo kya karta", he spoke huskily in that continuous gaze and u could just gulp his propositions.
"Ma..Manik", I squeaked in a low whisper. Shit!!! the monster was turned on now.
