I have been a silent spectator for the most of this fiasco between Parth & VG. Never took any sides Coz it's obvious there is more to all of this than what's being published.
VG has been on vendetta and threatening Parth subtly for a while now. If you read his past tweets or IG you can date it back to nearly two months+ back. His chamchas(supporters) too were in the same bandwagon since then. Is this case truly about Casting couch? Or is it about non payment of dues and trying to have Parth under his thumb Coz he feels proprietary towards his career?
The timeline of Whatsapp controversy hitting the newspaper or the audio being sent to Niti at a time when her silence would have been more precious to Parth than anything, reeks of conspiracy. And the recording?! Why did VG feel the need to record a private conversation?if he felt threatened by Parth back then than why were they both still talking w each other? Ektas statement: why is Parth the only one being asked about it and not VG? if wrongly quoted why can't her PR team send out a statement on her behalf to the press?
I was aghast at the way VG and team were going at it on IG. It just made this controversy all the more sordid and murky. And you start feeling sympathetic for Parth Coz it suddenly feels like Giant and Goliath story here.
But...but...
Parth has been a bundle of contradictions. He was doing well till he was silent and seemed to be handling all this like a pro and going about his business. Even then people wanted him to clarify on just Nitis topic and nothing else. However after Ektas statement, his repeated appearances in media ( nothing wrong w that), trying to justify ( to an extent) and the mistimed video at the orphanage wasn't doing him much favors. The blind followers oohed and aahed and sympathized with him. Some skeptics like me went... What the?! Is this for image rebuilding? Suddenly I felt I was seeing a page out of Indian politics and not from an young actor's life.
Yes we all know that he spends his key days at an orphanage but never before did we see him publicize it. Had the same video been posted by just his supporters and not him, the skepticism might have been much less.
Ok, let's say, nothing wrong with trying to recover your image especially after the beating it's taken on IG and Twitter from VG's followers. However, the recent IVs have been very vague. He sticks to just non payment of dues clause but there were 15 ( if I am not wrong) charges levied against Vikas. He hasn't acknowledged or said if they are true or false in any interviews. And def nothing on Niti's topic. We hear lot about positivity and ending all this soon. But his silent stance on the other issues baffles you. Coz they are very serious ones and not to be taken lightly.
Did he underestimate the repercussion of such action? Was he too cocky thinking that his popularity and fan power will help him ride this wave and didn't expect the industry turning against him blindly? Or Did he get overwhelmed and bullied into taking a much quieter stance?
He needs to acknowledge Niti's fiasco at some point. KY2 and Manan is what made him so popular and Niti is the other half of that equation. Unless he hits jackpot in Bollywood, he will be known for playing Manik a long long time and people will ship Manan for even longer. So to leave behind a bitterness with the costar who is part of all that is never a good thing. Image wise. Just by apologizing or trying to extend a olive branch now might be the Manna from heaven he was looking for. ( if she says something in a positive note)
Parth seems more concerned with the gay statement than anything else. Everything he has said and done since coming out in the media as been with regards to that. Stating something once or twice is a lil bit more believable than going about it like a broken record. And now a romantic song.. With 'am I in love' caption. All this starts looking desperate. He needs to sit back and let this all pass.
So all in all.. It's confusing to the non biased bystander like me. One moment it seems like publicity stunt but the charges are so serious that you don't want to believe that's what it is. The next moment it's seems like war of fabricated truth or lies. Whom to believe and who not to... Only time will tell.
For now the whole thing reeks fishy and nothing is clean cut. Both parties are at fault but what exactly are those faults... 🤔
