MaNan OS - Pyaar Impossible

The concert hall was jam packed with people to be precise youngsters all aged between 13 to 25. They all have been standing there for hours with patience to catch the glimpse of them; to see him sing with his soul searing voice; deep dark eyes and that gorgeous face. His one smile and girls would jump off buildings for him; such was his charm, his magic; such was Manik the lead and soul of Fab5. Fab5 the hottest and best band emerging on the music scene of India with one and only the Manik Malhotra at the helm of affairs.

As time passed the crowd started growing impatient and all that was heard and echoed in the concert all was "Manik!" "Manik!" "Manik!" and the lights went dim and 5 shadows emerged from the background and as the crowd caught a glimpse of him they went berserk in excitement. Manik came forward strummed his guitar; he looked at the crowd and gave them his ever charming smile that made every girl's heart skip a beat or two. "Are you ready for it?" he asked them and got a huge roar in return. "then let's hit it!' he started playing the guitar and soon all that could be heard was his guitar.

Soon Cabir and Dhruv his friends and band members joined him

Manik left his spot and ran in the middle of the ramp right where there was huge crowd making them all crazy.

Manik finally ended the song amidst huge applause and roar from the crowd for once more. Fab5 did a group hug as per ritual; they were just not friends but family the five of them; Manik; a rich brat who lived for the moment, heir of Malhotra Industries and son of his beloved parents Vikrant and Neyonika Malhotra. Dhruv; the shy. Cabir; the brat and manik's partner in crime for cover ups in front of his parents, Cabir's parents died when he was young so Manik's parents took his responsibility and raised him with same love. Mukti; boy caught up in a girl's body and finally Alya; fashionista, diva and total bindaas girl and Dhruv's soul mate. These five were inseparable. "So guys party time." Manik announced in the green room and they all hopped in his car for a night out.

It was 7 am when a sleepy manik and Cabir walked back home to Malhotra Mansion their home. They were still high from the vodka shots they took last night and giggling like aimless loafers discussing a random girl's vital stats. "good morning boys." Neyonika Malhotra welcomed them. Manik looked and smiled at her and hugged her saying "good morning mother India." But she pushed Manik away saying "betaji you stink and why are you so drunk? When will you learn to be responsible Manik?" Manik made an irritating expression "mom not again that lecture grow up aage chal kar tumhe yeh empire apne music ke saath sambhalna hai blah blah. Mom I am 24 and now."

But before our poor Manik could complete his moto for life his dad spilled water on his grand plans with his announcement "and now is just the right time when you should get responsible and get married. Get ready we are going to meet the girl in the evening and don't be hungover." Manik's eyes poped as the cork of the champagne bottle when he heard the word "Marriage.". "Ma." He shouted. "yes Manik she is my best friend's daughter I met her last week at a function. She has just returned after completing her medicine from Russia. Rest of the details and her picture is on your table we will leave at 4 pm be ready." Saying or rather informing this Neyonika and Vikrant walked out leaving Manik shocked sorry shell shocked.

"Manik what are you doing baith jaa yaar." Cabir requested Manik who was pacing up and down his room ever since he got the news that he has to go and meet a girl. Alya took the envelop and took out the girl's picture saying "wow Manik she absolutely stunning yaar." Mukti snatched the pic and nodded in affirmation. Dhruv chipped in saying "dude ek baari mil toh le use. Who knows you too jus might hit it off." Manik looked at him in utter disbelief "Oye romeo pagal ho gaya kya? We won't hit it off I will hit her with my guitar." Manik said "I mean she is a med student chashmish mote wale who bhi; salwar kameez clad, and all the time in her books nope never I can't do this." Manik announced

"so tu karna ky chahta hai?" Cabir finally broke his silence and asked the million dollar question to him. Manik thought hard and said "I am running away from home." All of their jaws dropped at his million dollar idea. "What?" that was the collective response from his friends. "Manik your parents are richest people in this country, you are a celebrity yourself do you think you can pull this off. Your parents will catch you before you board the flight Einstein." Cabir tired to reason. "Oye Newton my parents will catch me if only I will board a flight but I will take a train huh. Now its 12 pm and I am running away before they come back for lunch try and manage for as long as you can." Saying this he picked up a back pack stuffed few clothes and cash; picked up his guitar and made a mad dash for the railway station.

Murthy Villa

"mummy papa ka dimaag kharab ho gaya hai. Nahi unka nahi mera ho gaya hai jo main Indiawapis aayi. Kis liye ek rockstar se shaadi karne." A girl wearing a white anarkali with beautiful black waist length hair. Her big doe eyes expanded and shrunk with her words; her pink pouty lips made her look like a doll who was so delicate that she needed to be handled with care. Who was she yes she is our very own doctor from Russia Nandini Murthy. She then turned towards Navya her bestie and said "Navya are you even listening what I am saying?" she complained who was busy ogling Manik's pic from the envelope.

"navya." Nandini screamed bringing her out of her trance. "are Nandini he is." Navya was about to say something when Nandini showed her his big eyes and said "shh chup! He is a a rockstar don't you know how they are. Hair big, tattoos all over, weird make up, bands all over the hands and weird they are just weird I can't meet him. I don't want to meet him." She announced. "Then what?" Navya asked. "I am running away." Saying this she took out a back pack stuffed few clothes; some money and said "I am going to railway station manage here till you can. Bye." And she took off.

Manik was running behind a train which has just started and got into the last compartment when a voice stopped him and forced him to look back. He bent back and saw her running wearing a white anarkali. Her face was covered with her duppata and only her eyes were visible. Her eyes; her big kohled eyes and he found himself lost in her. As if he was in a trance his forwarded his hand to her in true blue SRK from DDLJ style and she grabbed it and came in the compartment and collided right into his chest. She was holding his jacket, her eyes were closed and she was panting. Manik looked down at her. After a while she broke the hug feeling a little shy and moved apart and that's when he saw her.

The moment they saw each other they were lost in each other. He in her angelic face and she in his deep eyes. She was blushing and couldn't see in his eyes. After what seemed like eternity Manik composed himself and said "hi I am Manik." and forwarded his hand she looked at him and said "hi I am Nandini." And gave her hand into his and sending a shiver down each other's spine.

That's how Manik and Nandini met. Two individuals running away from each other but ran into each other. A love story to start and as they say pyaar impossible.

Meanwhile all hell broke loose in Malhotra and Murthy households when they found out their kids have run away. It was already 4.30 pm. Vikrant and Neyonika were sitting in the hall with angry no no super angry expressions and Fab4 standing in front of them as kids caught stealing candy. "bhaag gaya Manik ghar se bhaag gaya. This boy is impossible I mean how irresponsible is this boy he is 24 years old." Neyonika was fuming in anger.

The scene was no different at the Murthy's also. Nandini's mother was spitting fire on the poor scapegoat. "she ran away. Like seriously Navya. She is a doctor and is this how doctors are supposed to behave. Ran away now what am I going to tell Neyonika. Nandini Murthy you are in big big trouble." Finding no other option Mrs Murthy called Neyonika who got nervous to see her call. "oh god what am I going to tell her?" Vikrant calmed her down "tell her the truth Neyonika.". she took a deep breath and answered the call. "Manik ran away." "Nandini ran away." Both of them said simultaneously as soya n as the call was answered. "what?" that was the second simulations response. On hearing what happened Fab4 and Navya had tough time controlling their laugh. "who bhi bhaag gayi I am telling you they should get married they are so made for each other." Cabir whispered inviting glares from fab3. "chup kar aur pata nahi yen Manik kahan hai." Mukti scolded him.

Meanwhile in the train Manik and Nandini walked into the compartment and realized it was a wedding group and they had booked the whole compartment. Manik and Nandini exchanged looks and moved in when somebody suddenly stopped them. "kaun ho tum dono aur yahan kya kar rahe ho? Yeh humne book kiya hai?" Nandini got scared looking at that guy and she held Manik's hand tightly. Manik looked at her and smiled and assured by placing his hand on hers. Just as he was thinking of an excuse a kid came running and said "I have you seen you on TV." Manik panicked that if he recognizes him it would be problematic.

So before the kid could say anything more Manik Malhotra came up with a brilliant but age old excuse. "hum ghar se bhaag kar aaye hain." He said and Nandini widened her eyes thinking ise kaise pata chala." Someone from the group asked "bhag kar kyun?" and being the melodramatic brat Manik was it gave him a perfect setup and thus manik began his story "we love each other very much." He said looking at Nandini and gesturing her to play along. She being no less nautanki despite being a doctor winked at him in agreement. Manik turned to the waiting audience and started their dukh bhari love story.

"we love each other very much. We can't live without each other but our parents they can't see eye to an eye. Hamari families ke beech khandaani dushmani hai aur un logon ne hamein ek doosre se alag karna chaha. But we couldn't let that happen and we ran away from our home. We got married at a temple and borded this train." He finished their love story and pulled her on to him. As she collided to his chest a shiver ran her body and they both lcoked in each other's eyes lost in each other. They had barely met but there was something that pulled them to each other. Their trance was broken when an elderly woman came to them and said "don't worry mere bacchon hum sab milkar tum logon ko protect karenge." And she was seconded by another guy who said "don't worry we are going for a wedding you are safe with us and you are invited to join the wedding and don't say no." Manik and Nandini decided to join them and act as a couple til they are safe to return their home.

It was after dinner when everyone was preparing to sleep; Manik and Nandini were given a single berth as they were pati and patni' and were expected to share. Nandini looked at Manik who smiled and said "you sleep I will sit." She smiled and lied down and soon the weariness took over and she fell asleep. Manik kept looking at her face and falling for her innocence hopelessly. He took out his phone and realized its dead and he left the power bank at home. He sighed and made himself a little comfortable to sleep. It was around midnight when Nandini woke up to see Manik crammed for space, she felt guilty of making him sit. She sat down next to him and kept admiring him. Finally after sometime he stirred a bit and finding some space adjusted himself well. Nandini smiled and kept looking at him. "he looks so innocent while sleeping." She thought and again closed her eyes.

"come on chalo chalo we have to get down." Manik woke up to the sounds of people asking him and Nandini to get ready as they will be getting down in next 5 mins. Manik opened his eyes lazily and saw the most beautiful sight; Nandini sleeping in his arms holding his jacket tightly and his arms wrapped around her. He smiled looking at her. Nandini" he whispered while caressing her cheek, she slowly opened her eyes and said "good morning" in a sleepy tone. "good morning biwi chalo we have to get down." Nandini woke up completely on hearing the word biwi' and said "oh yes chalo pati." They both shared a laugh and got down to join others.

After travelling for couple of hours in the most unpleasant rides they might have ever travelled like a camel cart through the desert as they were in Rajasthan Manik and Nandini found themselves standing in front of a huge haveli in a nondescript village in Rajasthan. "wow unbelievable." Nandini said. The hosts Sumer Singh and family from the bride's side welcomed everyone and the groom's family told them about Manik and Nandini's romantic story and they welcomed these two also with open arms and hearts. "all of you have been allotted rooms in the haveli please freshen up and join us for the first ceremony of the day that is haldi ceremony. Since Manik and Nandini were husband and wife according to them they were given a single room; they both settled in their room with Nandini sitting with a sad pouty face.

"Kya hua?" Manik asked. "Manik yahan it's a wedding house and I am not carrying clothes for a wedding." She cribbed to which Manik laughed heartly "now this is national crisis Nandu ke paas shaadi wale kapde nahi hai." "Manik stop laughing." Nandini ran behind him and soon the entire room was filled with their laughter and merriment. After getting tired they both slumped on bed and Manik said "you look beautiful when you smile." Hearing this she blushed and he said "and you look ethereal when you blush" he started moving towards her and she started moving backwards in sync locking eyes with him. But their moment was disturbed by a loud thud on the door. Manik moved away and opened the door when few ladies walked in and gave few outfits to them "baiji ne bataya ki aapke paas shaadi wale kapde nahi hain toh yeh aapke liye."

Nandini thanked them and soon both Manik and Nandini joined the festivities of the wedding. Nandini was standing at a distance when few ladies dragged her and made her sit next to the bride. "since you didn't had a proper haldi ceremony let us have now." Manik and Nandini were shocked but before they could protest Nandini found herself sitting next to the bride. Soon a red dupatta was covering her head and she looked beautiful clad in a yellow lehnga in accordance with the ceremony. One by one all the ladies came and applied haldi on her cheeks and complimented on her beauty.

Manik stood at a distance admiring her beauty. All his life he thought traditional girls are can't compete in beauty but today he couldn't take his eyes off her. Her yellow lehnga, red dupatta and a haldi on her cheeks made her look beautiful but what captivated his heart was the blush on her cheeks and the way she looked at him under her lashes. He smirked at the effect he was having at her. Soon few ladies dragged Manik too for applying haldi to her. He took a pinch of haldi and applied on her cheeks; she shivered under his touch. He bent down deathly close and pecked her cheek saying "I wish the time stands still here." She blushed and shivered.

The evening was reserved for the mehandi ceremony and the house was hustling bustling with activities. Manik was wearing a green kurta and white pajama and a matching green stole and Nandini was wearing a green lehnga as per the theme. Everyone in the ceremony was complimenting them for being the most good looking couple present making them blush. Soon the mehandi ceremony started and as usual Nandini also was dragged to be applied mehandi. As she sat there getting mehandi on her hands she looked at Manik who was sitting with few boys and joking and laughing. "his laugh is the purest thing I have ever seen. I can spend my entire life watching him smile. How can someone be so good, I don't know anything about him except his name Manik but he still has so much impact on me. He never crossed his line; he respects me so much. Any girl would be lucky to have him in her life." She sighed and her chain of thoughts were broken by constant compliments from women who were going gaga over Nandini's mehandi.

It was around 10 pm and Nandini was sitting near the window of her room looking at the moon. She was hungry but couldn't eat as both her hands were in mehandi and that was the moment when for the first time in two days she remembered her mom. She reminisced how her mother used to feed her when she would apply mehandi every diwali. A lone tear trickled down her eye but it was caught by someone before it could fall down. It was Manik who was standing next to her with a food tray while she was lost in her thoughts. "hey when did you come?" she asked with a faint smile "when you were lost in your thoughts." He replied. "who ghar ki yaad aa gayi" she said and the term ghar' even made Manik also a little emotional as he too was missing Neyonika terribly. See ing him getting misty Nandini decided to change the topic.

"waise Manik yeh kya hai?" she asked pointing towards the tray. "who tumne kuch khaya nahi toh I brought food for us." Manik replied sheepishly. Nandini smiled and said "chalo ab laaye ho toh khila bhi do considering I can't do it on my own." She said showing her hands. Manik smiled and said "yed madam." And started feeding her and she made him also eat leaving him surprised. He asked how she knew even he was hungry to which she replied that she just knew. "Nandini show me you mehandi." Manik asked her excitedly. She smiled and showed her palms and said "you know Manik it is said the darker the color the deeper the love." Manik looked at her and caressing her palms asked "do you believe in this?" she nodded in a yes and said "I believe in every tradition you know why not because we have to believe but these traditions brings two heart and two souls close and ties them in bond that is beyond this lifetime or the seven lifetimes. Every tradition; every ritual is significant as it symbolizes the love two hearts hold for each other." Manik kept looking her mesmerized by her words.

Then she looked at Manik and said "you know it is a ritual that the groom has to find out his name in this mehandi and if he fails he has to give a gift to the bride." Manik raised his eyebrow and asked what if he wins?" "then he gets a gift." She replied. "Then brace yourself to gift me what I want biwi." He said with a smirk and Nandini replied "challenge accepted pati." Soon the task of finding his name in her palms began and Manik found it to be more tough than he anticipated it to be. Finally after a prolonged search he gave up saying "jao biwi you won bolo kya chahiye." "Paris." Nandini exclaimed "I wanna go to Paris lekar chaloge. I always wanted to go there it is the most romantic city in the world." She asked him with a huge excitement and twinkle in her eyes. "promise Paris it is. The city of love with you and me. Yeh tumahare pati ka promise hai biwi." Manik said in a melodramatic way and they both burst into laughter.

Finally it was the night of the wedding and everyone was having fun. Nandini was dancing and having a time of her life when a little boy came to her and handed a chit to her. "Please come to the terrace - Manik." she read the chit and excused herself. She walked up to the terrace and found it to be quite. "Manik" she called his name and that's when her breath got hitched in her throat and shiver ran down her spine. Manik was standing behind her with her back touching his chest; he nuzzled in her hair and said huskily "Nandini." He slid his hands on her arms as she closed her eyes to feel his touch. He turned her around and said "look at me Nandini."

He then moved a bit and bent down on his knee saying "you know the day I met you was the day I ran away from home because my parents wanted me to get married and fall in love. All my life I have seen my parents in love but never experienced it. For me love was all about fancy dates, expensive gifts and erotic make outs; traditions never held any value for me. But then I met you and my whole life changed in a moment. I don't know when and how I fell in love with you; I feel content when I look at you; I feel complete when you smile for me. Nothing or no one is more beautiful than you Nandini. I have always lived for the moment but now I want to live every moment of my life with you. I love you Nandini; will you marry me." Nandini was crying listening to his every word; she bent down and crashed herself in his chest. She was sobbing and within her sobs she said "you know Manik all my life no one has ever made me so special the way you have made e feel. I feel the safest with you; your arms are my abode. I love you too Manik. Take me home please." They both were crying but because of happiness and love. Manik hugged her tightly and hid her in his arms and said let's go home."

The Malhotra's and Murthy's were sitting in a caf in Mumbai along with fab4 and Navya. Both of them had received a call from their kids that they are coming back and they are in love. Neyonika went to Nandini's mom and said "I am sorry on how things have turned out. All I wanted was to strengthen our friendship but these kids." Before she could say anything Nandini's mother silenced her and said "Neyonika nothing is important to us then our kids happiness and our friendship still remains the same. Now please accept the girl your son has chosen and don't forget to call me." Neyonika smiled and said "same applies to you too."

"Mom." A combined voice of Manik and Nandini broke both the mothers' talk. "Who is mom talking so nicely with?" Manik asked. "She is my mom and why is she talking so friendly with your mom." Nandini replied or rather asked in shocked. Neyonika and Nandini's mother looked at Manik and Nandini walking towards them hand in hand. "what the hell." Cabir said "isko isse pyar hua." Dhruv exclaimed as all of them exchanged looks.

Manik came near Neyonika and said "Mom I am sorry for the stunt I pulled on you. But trust me it turned out to be the best thing. If I wouldn't have run away I wouldn't have met Nandini." He looked at Nandini and took her in a side hug and said "I love her mom and trust me I am serious when I say it I want to marry her." Neyonika looked baffled when Nandini turned to her mom and said "sorry and same to same." They both stood there in anticipation waiting for their parents to react but all they were getting was silence. Nandini was getting tensed she clutched his jacket and he assured her with a more tighter grip around her. Just as they were getting impatient they heard a collective laughter from their families and friends.

"what happened guys? Why are you laughing?" Manik asked in total confusion when Cabir and Navya handed them two envelopes. "guys these are the pics of the boy and the girl you were supposed to meet before you ran away. Now we insist you have a look at them please for us." Cabir said between his laughs. Manik rolled his eyes but both of them opened the envelopes and were shocked to see the respective pictures. "Manik" "Nandini" they both said simultaneously much to everyone's amusement. "Yes betaji Nandini is the same girl you were supposed to meet that day but you genius ran away before even looking at her picture." Neyonika said laughing. "But Neyo its good they didn't meet cause they would have rejected each other but now they have know each other and they are in love." Nandini's mother said. This sweet realization made both Manik and Nandini blush and Manik took her in his arms and said "I love you" and she whispered "I love you more." And everyone else hugged them as all is well if it ends well.

Three Months Later

Fab4 and navya were at the departure terminal of Mumbai international airport when they heard the announcement "Air France announces the boarding for Flight Number AF 04 from Mumbai to Paris." "Guys now leave and have a great." Fab4 said and waived out to the leaving couple. After they left Manik looked at Nandini and said extending his arm to her "As promised biwi city of love with you, me and our love chalogi." Nandini smiled as she glowed with mehandi in her palms, chura in her hands and touch of sindoor on her forehead. She gave her hand into his and said "always ready pati for this adventure." Manik moved to the gate and said "boarding passes for Mr & Mrs Manik Malhotra."
