@opti @arshi_mananCheers for being reasonable!
Like I said, I did give it a shot. I tried to watch some of their earlier scenes to see what the fuss was about. But I really couldn't connect with them at all. That's because of what you have explained, the cliched way the females are portrayed, even the males for that matter.
Just another query, is it also mandatory for every guy on Indian telly to fall for the lead gal. Cuz literally everyone seems to be falling for her? Even Aryaman, which makes no sense whatsoever. And I heard that the two actors consider themselves bro-sis. Wow way to go!😕 How did they agree to it? Or were they inspired by GoT?
I have my reservations about Dhruv and Alya cuz I did not like the way that he was shown treating her in the earlier season. I thought Aryaman and Alya would have set the screen on fire. With the few scenes they shared, it really looked like they could pull it off, but have been disappointed yet again. 😭 👎🏼
This is literally the only Indian show I followed. And yes they are all cliched and typical. Even this show's lead characters I'm afraid aren't any different.
I specially didn't like how the lead Manik treated Alya. He blamed her for not trusting him, when he clearly was attracted to the gal Nandini and never could hide it. The gal put in efforts in that relationship, and though it wasn't meant to be, she still cared about it. He owed her the truth if not an apology for his behavior. Alya sending goons was a bit far-fetched but any girl who loves and cares for a guy wouldn't like seeing him drifting away.
I think the writers tried to make her look bad just to project Manan as being just that good. I'm afraid that their story is no different from the ones narrated all the time.
I liked Chuck and Blair from Gossip Girl cuz neither of them were perfect, in fact far from perfect, but that's how people are, shades of grey and yet they found themselves.
Shows like Friends and TBBT are so good cuz each character is given importance and I enjoy watching all the 20 mins of them instead of having to skip.
It is easy to like someone who seems perfect and it takes effort to like people who aren't and that is why I feel more connected to some of the other characters. And sometimes it is also bad writing. As I said, they only stress on the lead pair and not the lead cast.
Shit happens in real life too, who wouldn't go to certain extremes. Another thing I don't understand is how becoming a college president makes you closer to solving your boyfriend's mystery and why wait for 3-4 or 6 months to do that?
Anyway I guess you guys have your Manan to look forward to and I have to sob over the fact that I have none else left to root for.
Peace!
