The MTV show is not only popular because of the love angle between Manik (Parth Samthaan) and Nandini (Niti Taylor) but also because it is about friendship and everything that people often do for their best friends
On Friendship Day, today we talk about the five important lessons Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan teaches everyone on the importance of friends and this relationship. Read it and you will agree with our observation...
Friends over Love
Manik loves Nandini but when he realizes that she is also his best friend, Dhruv (Utkarsh Gupta) love interest, he hides his feelings and lets her go. In fact, when Manik and Nandini finally come back together he makes it very clear that no matter what the situation in the future, his friends will always be his first priority. Most people tend to ignore their friends when they start dating someone; while we think love is important but it should not take precedence over friendship.
Being Non-Judgmental
When Cabir (Ayaz Ahmed) revealed to Manik that he is gay, he was shocked. It's not a concept or revelation Manik has heard very often, but he was a patient listener to his friend's troubles. He accepted Cabir the way he was without judging him on the choices and preferences of life. In fact, Fab 5 welcomed Cabir's life decision with opened arms even when his own mother disowned him.
The Space issue
When Mukti (Charlie Chauhan) lost the love of her life, everyone decided to give her some space, which is essential in every relationship. They let her deal with her grief alone till she needed it, but on Nandini's insistence Manik encroached that space and brought her out of depression. As friends they knew exactly when and how to give a friend space and take it back even if the opposite person is not willing to let people in.
Understand before Misunderstanding
When Dhruv was going through a bout of insecurities, Manik patiently waited for his best friends to come back. Even when Dhruv was rude and abusive, Manik did not judge Dhruv. He realised that Dhruv was going through a phase and patiently waited for his best friend to return. He never let Dhruv's hatred and jealousy get to him, nor did he change his feelings for Dhruv because of his behavior.
Interventions
As friends, we should always be able to tell our friends the truth even it hurts them. When Mukti started taking drugs, Aaliya (Krissann Barretto) told her off even if it meant hurting their relationship. It's important to hold these crazy interventions whenever a friend loses her path. Without thinking about their friend's wrath, she chose to confront it and bear her cruel words than let her go.
