It's wasn't love, but Dhruv made her feel special , wanted and cherished . He treated her well, there was some emotional bonding too. He gave her a silent hear and was her solace. They could have fallen in love eventually but I feel both at that point were carrying baggage and had different expectations. Unless you deal with conflicts together , you won't be able to survive , these two chose to struggle with their conflicts on their own and had different perceptions about their problems.

She took to him as her Prince Charming and he felt she was his Ms Perfect. They had wrapped up notions about each other.
