It had already been 2 weeks but there was hardly any improvement in Nandini's condition. She had completely withdrawn herself from people around her. The only person who she would communicate with was Navya that too because she herself was in a condition where she needed consolation with her mother disowning her and her unborn baby. The others in the group would try to cheer Nandini up in their own little ways Mukti threw a party, Alya tried giving Nandu a makeover Cabir by cracking silly jokes and Dhruv by just being there, he didn't really have the confidence to go and talk to her after the kind of equation they shared some time back. He knew he was guilty and should apologize to her but also was aware of the fact that Nandini was not in a state of mind to discuss their issue at that time. But nothing really helped; it was not that Nandu didn't respond to their attempts, she would act as if she was there with them, give fake smiles here and there but still remain aloof. Nandini's behavior was scaring her family too. Chacha Chachi didn't know what they could do to get their bubbly and chirpy niece back.

Amidst this one person who was equally being churned along with Nandu was Manik. He was clueless, what he could possibly do to get his Nandini back. He would play along with every body's attempts with the hope that may be this could make Nandini turn around but all of it failed. Nandini would still get nightmares of that dreaded night which had pushed her to become what she is today. Somewhere deep down she knew she was not at fault and she would overcome it eventually but there was still something that was holding her back. She knew she was punishing Manik for no reason but she was helpless. No matter how much she tried but she was not able to reciprocate his feelings.

Finally her family decided that she should go to Mangalore to Amm's for a few days, it would give her a break and may be help her recover. Amm's herself wanted to be with her after knowing what her favorite student did to her. She was ashamed and sorry at the same time but the damage was already done. This news came crashing down to Manik. How could he live not seeing her? Here at least he could be around her in college, pay a visit at her place sometimes and mostly could wait outside her house to get a glimpse of her at the window during the nights. But Mangalore would take her away from him. How could he bear that? His restlessness and anxiety was not hidden from Fab 4 when Cabir hatched a plan to stop Nandini from going. They decided to fake Manik's accident. Manik was game for anything if that meant Nandini was with him. But the plan backfired very badly although they succeeded in cancelling Nandu's trip because if not for anything else they had at least timed it perfectly, just at the time Nandu had left for station, she got a message from Cabir regarding Manik's accident. She immediately rushed to the hospital which meant she missed the train but when she found out the truth boy she was on fire. Nobody imagined Nandu to react like that. She blasted everyone including Manik and Fab 4 in front of the whole hospital. They had seen an angry Nandu but that was long and forgotten. But here Nandini was spitting fire. None of them dared to utter anything in their defense. Well Manik's case was acceptable but surprisingly the rest of them also took a backseat yes very much unlike Fab 5 who never allowed anyone to raise their voice against them. But that was because they had accepted Nandu as a part of them and would stick to her no matter what came their way.

Manik was at least satisfied that Nandini reacted even if it was anger at least she spoke even if she was shouting at least she was letting her emotions flow even if she was damn pissed at least he knew that he mattered to her. He had not lost her completely and there was hope. When Navya came to know about the whole incident, she got annoyed on Cabir for doing something so silly and insensitive. She felt that Nandini needed a break from SPACE and may be all of them to revive.

After that day Nandini stopped interacting with any one from Fab 5 and none of them bothered her with their rants and apologies. But this silence was killing Manik, his patience was on the verge of breaking. He needed her the way she was. He had to touch her and feel her to reassure that he was alive. But why was she not being able to cope with the situation when he was around her. She knew he loved her no matter what then why was she not able to reach up to him. These questions disturbed Manik every now and then.

"That is because she needs a shock" announced Mukti as they were brainstorming HOW TO GET BACK NANDINI

She needs to be given a jhatka so that she is able to shift her focus to you, she continued to Manik

Everyone is puzzled not being able to comprehend her properly

And now it is time for my idea so guys you just need to hop in she added further

Before Manik could open his mouth to ask something Mukti silenced him and revealed her plan. After the discussion Alya was convinced, Dhruv a little worried, Cabir was confused (he didn't want another round of lecture from Madhubala) and Manik was again game for anything and everything to have Nandini back. They decided to put the plan in action the very next day.

Nandu came to college on time and met Navya at the gate. Navya hesitantly started the topic of FAB 5 Nandu gave her a let's not talk about them look. But Navya insisted her to forgive all of them for their mistake. They were on their way to classroom but surprisingly they dint come across FAB 5. They are always around at this time Nandu thought to herself.

Navya - Arey ye log kahan gayab hain. Koi nazar hi nahi aa raha. Cabir toh aj bahut jaldi hi nikal gaya tha. Ruko hum phone karte hain(taking her cell phone out).

Navya please rehne do lets go to the class said Nandu

Navya agreed with a sigh and both of them proceeded to the classroom. But just before they were to enter they heard some giggles around the stairs. They were familiar voices so they turned to have a look.

Navya - Arey ye FAB 5 mein 6^th member kaun aa gaya (pointing to a girl who was standing with FAB 5, she was taller than all the rest of the girls, dressed in a off shoulder blue top and a low waist black skirt reaching a liitle over her knees )

Nandu's brows cringed in suspicion. She was not able to have a proper view of her as she was facing her back. The first and the only thing she noticed and also which made her eyes widen was that the girl had Manik's hand on her bare waist. A sudden feeling of disgust emerged on her face. Navya without asking Nandu approached FAB 5 or 6 watever

Navya (with a wide sarcastic smile) - Hi guys ..ye.. kaun hain?

Everyone looked at Navya as if they had just spotted her. Manik was half facing Nandu and trying to catch her expressions stealthily but as their eyes met both of them looked away immediately, Nandu to hide her irritation and Manik to focus on his act.

Mukti - Hey Navya meet Tanya my cousin from LA.

Navya greeted her with a faint smile. In a short span of introduction she understood that Tanya is here on a vacation, she had known them for years and was totally fond of all them especially Manik and had she been in India it would have been Super 6 and not FAB 5. The mention of Super 6 annoyed Navya. Nandu was watching them from some 5 feet distance but none of them bothered to look at her let alone talking. Manik was in all praise for Tanya about her sense of humor, ability to play guitar so well and of course her dressing sense. Nandini could not deal with the irritation anymore and just turned and entered the classroom closing the door with a bang. The sound startled everyone and Navya quickly said her byes and followed Nandini. As she left all of them exhaled a sigh of relief and contentment together. Manik immediately removed his hand from Tanya's waist.

So guys this is working exclaimed Alya with excitement

Dhruv (looking a little worried) - I think she got damn pissed yaar

Mukti - Dhruv tu chup na..dint u see she was so jealous ..Manik I told u na ye hand on waist wala idea will work wonders..Kyun Cabir

Cabir - (confusion written all over his face) amm yeah I guess so..

Manik- Thanx Tanya.. woo..

Tanya - Manik thanx tab kehna jab hamara plan puri tarah successful ho jae.

Scene shifts to the classroom. Nandu is just flipping pages of a book with angry strokes thinking abt Manik and the girl when Navya comes and joins her.

Navya - (in a over excited dramatic voice) - Nandu tumhe pata hai wo Tan..

Nandini - (in a stern voice) Navya maine kaha tha na I don't want to talk about them. And continues to flip through the pages but this time not very hastily

They finish their class and come out. Nandu is restless as she cannot see Manik anywhere. Hundreds of thoughts crossing her mind or rather compelling her to think about Manik when at a distance she hears Mukti and Alya talk

Alya - Mukti she is your cousin that is the only reason I talk to her. Otherwise I have always been so jealous of her. Now it's different for sure but when Manik and I were together every time she would come on vacation I would just freak out. With her around Manik could never see anyone else.

Mukti - Alya wo sab purani baatein hain yaar ..things have changed so much since then..

Alya - Of course change hui hain..Tanya has become even hotter and did u see Manik he has such a wide smile on his face all through the day.

Mukti - Yeah you are right.. poor thing even he has been through so much he needs a break for sure

(Both of them are aware Nandini is around and also making sure that she has heard their whole conversation)

Nandini - (in a irritated tone)Navya main library ja rahi r u coming with me (who is still ogling at Alya and Mukti for some more gossip)

Navya- Haan chalo chalo.

Nandu and Navya head towards the library where more surprises err.. shocks are waiting for them. The library was not that crowded..yeah students usually don't like to visit that part of the college. Nandu had to return a few books and issue some new ones. Navya caught a table and relaxed for a bit while Nandu began looking for the books she needed and as she was doing that she heard Manik's voice somewhere nearby. She peeped through the racks to see Manik with Tanya.

Tanya(brushing Manik's shirt collar with her fingers) - Tumhare friends kabhi tumhe akela hi nahi chorte..see what all I have to do to get some alone time with you.

Manik - (with a flirtatious smile) - Ab friends ka kaam hi hai kabab mein haddi banna toh kya karen (tucking a hair strand by her ear).

Nandini was furious. That was her right. How could he do that to someone else? She almost squeezed the fat book in her hand, unable to control her anger and also to become the haddi in their so called kabab she purposely thudded the book onto the floor. The sound broke their fake gaze and Nandu quickly came and joined Navya on the table. Manik and Tanya made their way out and stopped near their table.

Manik - Amm Tanya der s lot of DIS..TURBANCE (stressing on the word and also indicating Nandu) over here..chalo lets go somewhere else.

And they walk out of the library giving a soundless hi five to each other immediately. Navya mouth was all wide open

Nandu usne hamen DIS..TURBANCE kaha..tumne suna

Nandini- (ignoring her question) Canteen chalen mujhe bhuk lagi hai

As they got up to leave Navya felt a little dizzy. She asked Nandu to head towards the canteen and she went to the washroom to freshen up a bit. Manik's behavior was getting on her nerves, just because she dint give him a little attention he started running after other girls. How could he do that? At a time when she needs him the most he is behaving like a jerk. Or was he like that always? All these questions were bombarding her mind as she stepped into the canteen. The last nail on the coffin was about to be hit. Manik and Tanya were apparently holding hands and coochicooing. Nandu stared at them crossing her arms tightly against her body while rest of FAB 4 was enjoying the scene from another table at a distance.

Mukti - abhi bomb futega

Cabir - (little tensed)Kahin dhamake se hum bhi na ud jayen

Alya- shut up guys watch na

Nandini after staring at them for 2 whole minutes walked up to their table.

Nandu - Manik I need to talk to you

Manik looked at her and ignoring her said

Mank - Amm.. not now I am with...

Nandu - (clenching her teeth)Manik I said I need to talk to you.. NOW

She caught hold of his hand digging all her nails on his wrist and pulled him out of the chair. Manik was trying hard to control his laughter. It is so much fun to see his girl this jealous only if she knew he was doing all of this for her only. She was tiny though but when she was determined even pulling a mountain like him seemed trifle. Manik raised his free had to say adieus to his partners in crime who in turn waved and winked and giggled in excitement. As they moved out Navya entered and was taken aback by this suddenly changed scenario. She saw Tanya at one table Fab 4 at another at a corner and guessed what could have happened.

Part 2

Navya walked upto their table. She had sensed there was something fishy. Seeing Navya approach them they all started looking here and there.

Navya - So hamen galat nahi laga tha..ye sab tumhi logon ki pakai hui khichdi hai na??

Dhruv - Hi Navya

Navya- Dhruv tum bhi in logon ke saath..aur Cabir tum..hamne kaha tha na tumhe..

Cabir (clearing his voice actually trying to find it back) - Mera nahi Mukti ka idea tha..I was just playing along.

Mukti (interrupts in between) - Arey Navya why are u getting all worked up..Dekho na the plan is on the right track..Ab koi gadbad nahi hogi.

Navya(after a scary look at everyone)- Aur agar hua na toh hamare paas mat aana..ki Navya Navya pls Nandini se baat karo..usse samjhao

Scene shifts to the music room where Nandini had taken Manik to talk. Both are looking away from each other in opposite directions. Manik is trying hard to control the giggle that was creeping on his face and then after a while to break the silence he cleared his throat and started

(With a serious tone)Amm..you had to talk ..so what is it?

There was no response from Nandini, she didn't even turn back to face him. So he started again

Well if you have nothing to say then I should go back and join Tan..

She didn't even let him finish her name and faced him

Nandu -What do you think you were doing Mr. Manik Malhotra?? Her eyes were burning not with jealousy but plain anger.

Manik - (making an innocent face and an air of ignorance)- What did I do now?

Nandu- Really now you me want to say what you were doing. Fine then I will tell you .. I never knew you could stoop so low. Just because I didn't let you be close to me you go and find yourself another girl. For u it had always been about that huh. First Alya then u were after me and now it is someone else. The time when I need you the most to understand me you go around flirting.

Manik saw the whole thing taking a complete new turn. He tried to calm Nandini down and explain her a few things. But she was in no mood to listen to anything that he had to say.

Manik - Nandini listen..calm down..its nothing like that..fine ok I am sorry it was all put up to garner you attention that girl Tanya she is not Mukti z cousin she z just an acquaintance who was helping us.

Manik was trying to cup Nandini's face but she was not even letting him touch her. She had had enough of their jokes and pranks in the last few days, Nandini had lost it completely. She knew she was not making sense even to herself but just had to vent out her frustration. In a desperate attempt to calm her down Manik caught hold of her hands and pinned her against the wall. She was trying hard to free herself from his grip. Manik used his legs to stop hers and managed to control both her hands with his right palm and his left hand clenched her jaw. He didn't want to hurt her but was helpless as she was plainly not ready to listen to him

Manik - Nandini you need to shut up..you don't even know what you are talking about.

Nandini (tears rolling down her cheeks and desperately trying to free herself) - Oh really now my talking also bothers you. Leave me Manik

Manik - Nandini if you don't stop I will have to shut you up.

Nandini- I won't what will you do?

Manik's patience had left him long ago. He moved closer to her and the next moment almost crushed her lips with a kiss. He had to shut her up very badly. She was making no sense and blabbering rubbish and so he thought in fact without much thought just kissed her with all his love and passion. In the flow his grip on her loosened which made easy to free her. She pushed him away with both her hands and before he could release himself from the gaze of the forced kiss, a tight slap marked his right cheek. Yes Nandini had slapped him with all the anguish she had coiled up in her. But it was not the slap that hurt him but the words she uttered immediately after that.

Nandini - (seething with anger and disgust) You ..you were always like this..you always just wanted to get physical with me. How could I not understand? All you men are just the same..there is absolutely no difference between you and Pandit.

He was totally taken a back with those words as if she was talking in a language which was alien to him. After the eventual shock he started registering her words. What did she just say? I just wanted to get physical with her. She thinks I am no different than Pandit. I was categorized with all the other cheap men around. He knew he was at fault; he shouldn't have kissed her in a state like that. But how could she mistake his love for her as lust. Nandini's allegations echoed in his mind and now he was furious.

What did u say? You think whatever has happened between us all this while was because I wanted to get physical with you. Is that what u think? You cannot differentiate between Pandit's intention and my love for you huh.

Those words brought her back from her trance. She had actually uttered things that she herself didn't believe that too against Manik. But she didn't react except for the fact that her tears found their way through her cheeks. She was still holding herself against that wall as is it was her only support and Manik was racing to and fro repeating her words. He had forgotten that he could be this angry being around her. She was always the catalyst to calm him down but this time she had instigated the monster in him. He turned around and punched his fist on the wall just an inch away where Nandini stood. Nandini shut her eyes in fear and when she managed to open them she found Manik standing right in front of her. Her nose was rubbing against his collar. She looked up to meet his eyes.

I touch you because I feel the need to. I have never known to be otherwise with you. I come close to you because I have never known staying away from you. I hold you because it gives me the strength to live and I can never be this close to anyone else because I love you and if you can't see that can't understand that then you are not capable of understanding anything else in this world- mumbled a devastated Manik

He stepped back and stormed out of the classroom. Fab 4 and Navya were right outside the door. Navya gave a dirty look to FAB 4 and walked in see Nandini. Cabir shook his head in despair and gave a I so knew this was going to happen look to Mukti and ran after Manik , Dhruv followed him. Mukti and Alya stood at the door not knowing what to do where to go. There plan had backfired badly. Nandini had collapsed on the floor and was crying incoherently. She herself didn't know if it was because she was angry, she was hurt or she had hurt Manik. Navya tried consoling her but it was not of much help. Meanwhile Cabir and Dhruv chased Manik to stop him in the corridor midway.

Cabir - (guarding his way)Manik ruk ruk meri baat sun..

Manik - Kya bolna chahta hai tu yehi na k main shant ho jaun . I should control my anger tune suna na usne kya kya bola.

Dhruv - But Manik u know na she is not in the right frame of mind.

Manik - (shouts at him) Toh you think I am in the right state of mind. It is killing me to see her like that. She has forgotten herself there is so much anger and hatred in her. I am not able to find my Nandini in her.(He pauses for a moment trying to gather all his strength) I can't lose her and I won't let her lose herself (in a determined tone).

Before Cabir and Dhruv could say anything further he made his way and headed back to the music room. Navya was trying hard to console Nandu when suddenly Manik appeared in front of them. Nandu looked at him. Although his anger had receded but she couldn't read through him. They shared an eye lock. Their eyes indeed do a lot of talking. Manik pulled her up with a jerk, she thudded against his chest. He took the bag off her shoulder and threw it sumwhr. Navya thought of asking something then just gathered her thoughts and stood silently. Manik held Nandini by her arms and walked past all of them out of the room to the corridors and just disappeared. Navya did try to go after them but was stopped by Cabir. He suggested that they should just let these to be together

Cabir - Navya tum chachi ko inform kardo dat Nandini Manik ke saath hai or else she would be worried.

Navya nodded in agreement and took out her cell phone. The rest of them had all pale expressions on their faces to celebrate the ultimate fiasco. Manik reached his car along with Nandini. She had stopped crying and was continuously looking at Manik's face without a blink to get some response from him. Manik opened the front door and pushed her inside and drove off and they were out of the college vicinity.
