here i see many commnts on posture n body language...so i thought of sharing a small pis of info...
so wiki says...
Sitting positions
begin with a standard of a
straight back with unfolded
legs and thighs slightly parted.
From here the body is molded
by the unconscious. The most
common and easily
understood positions are:
Leaning forward or towards a
position of interest(from a
person to a location; such as a
door when hoping to leave.).
Sitting in a secure position,
straight back and legs slightly
opened, depicts a person who
is comfortable with their
surroundings and or situations.
When discerning seated
positions, the knees and
legs are important when
trying to figure out the
interest of the person.
Generally, the knees and
legs are pointed towards
the persons area of
interest, ranging from a
person to a location such
as when leaning towards
a certain area. Crossed
legs show defensive
signals similar to
crossed arms,
representing a barrier
between the person and
a specific stimuli,
tenseness is reliant on
how relaxed the leg
muscles are, although,
when in a laid back
position, crossed legs
can also represent
increased interest
towards the person the
legs are opening
towards.
Crossed ankles generally
reference calmness, but
when the person is
fidgeting with their feet
(i.e. bouncing or
swaying), it shows
increased nerves.
