I have a theory about Pani's apparent chillness in their interviews together. As it is mentioned that they distanced themselves offscreen since the store scene, I think they may have been asked to do so for professional reasons. Let me explain.

There is this episode in the T.V. show 'Friends' where one of the characters is an actor and his friend is seeing an actress. He gets disturbed seeing her in a hot scene with her co-star and discusses it with his actor friend who tells him that there is nothing going on between them (the actress and her co-star) if the scene is hot. It is only when their scene becomes 'thanda' that he needs to worry. Generally people who have flaming chemistry onscreen have nothing offscreen and vice versa.

This point was also made by one of the female directors of a T.V. episodic in which Viraf Patel and Shilpa Anand starred. In one of her interviews the director admitted that she wanted to tell Viraf not to sleep with his co-star offscreen because that would remove intensity in their onscreen shots where they needed to be hot.

Now if this is how it works with actors, then these two may have been advised to maintain some distance offscreen to bring on the scorching chemistry onscreen. The storeroom scene was a turning point in the story because after that Manan's relationship changed and became more intense. So keeping this in view, Pani may have been asked to act cool offscreen so that they can be hot onscreen. If this is the case, then this is all for a professional and not a personal reason. We should respect that and enjoy the hotness they personify onscreen. After all that is what matters to us, isn't it?

By this logic toh all the other pairings in the show should be asked to keep away to maintain "hotness" too...but Uttkarsh-Kriss, Abhishek-Veebha all seem to be friendly with each other.

I don't think they have been told anything deliberately...they were never SUPER friendly to begin with...I think it's Parth's introverted personality firstly and then other external factors that have been discussed extensively in the last few pagesšŸ˜†

LOL I don't get this logic that people can't get friendly with each other cuz they will inevitably SLEEP with each other and ruin their onscreen chemistryšŸ˜•šŸ˜•šŸ˜•...is that really the only inevitable direction for a lead pair?

I have no problems with the PaNi equation...mujhe toh MaNan se matlab haišŸ˜†...just that I've never seen two co-actors SO awkward with each other...you can't manufacture THIS level of awkwardness...it just isšŸ˜†

I totally disagree about the sleeping thing though. One of my favorite onscreen couples are best of friends offscreen. They quoted many times that while they shoot there is awkwardness but they laugh it off and it helps produce great chemistry on screen. I know other couples too who do intimate scenes but don't get along at all in real life.

Guess their relation was always professional since the beginning but could have been less awkward if circumstances worked out. Anyway but yes as along it doesn't affect onscreen we shouldn't care and I feel extremely guilty at times for involving in their private matters. But even I am a teenager and can't stop myself. Although I restrain from asking personal questions of social media. Maybe will have a better understanding when I am older.

I think you did not get the point. I wasn't implying that they were sleeping together or for that matter Viraf and Shilpa would have slept together if they had not been warned otherwise. Pani have always been, and will be, professional. All I wanted to say is that there is this perception that if you maintain a distance offscreen, the onscreen chemistry works out better. So this may all be part of their brief rather than other factors like their personal lives or fans' pestering.

I haven't looked much into the significance of the scenes as much especially post the Musicana track. I go by first instincts. It's a serial. Its purpose is to entertain me the first time I watch it. After I come home from a long days work, I sit and watch the show on television and have that minimum expectation that it will entertain me enough the first time around that I watch the telecast without too much of detailed analysis. Yes, its fun to go and re-watch the episode again and catch certain bits you may have missed the first time around and really get into depth, but honestly speaking, it should have enough of an entertainment factor for me to enjoy it the first time around. Whatever extra time I spend re-watching the episode and really understanding certain scenes is for a better understanding of the show, characters, and plot-line. It just adds to the entertainment. But if it gets to the point where the show is losing that entertainment quotient and I have to go and re-watch the scenes multiple times to psychoanalyze the characters in order to enjoy the show, that is not how it works for me. Recently, that is what is missing from the show. It has turned into a melodramatic depressing sob story. In order for me to somewhat enjoy certain scenes or certain parts of the episode, I have to go and re-watch it and read more into it. I agree with @AreYaar that we cannot get a significant episode every-time around. That is a very high expectation to keep because this is a daily after all. But I also think that this show has been delivering more half-baked episodes in comparison to the ratio of good episodes lately. I nearly stopped watching this show during the Musicana night itself. When Cabir and Raghav got attacked and this same song was playing with those flashbacks, I thought the show really hit the rocks at that time. Considering that the genre is cantered to the youth, prolonged sobbing and depression will automatically turn a lot of the audience off especially because this show is portraying very extreme and abnormal teenagers. Their conditions and issues are very dramatized. If they continue to drag this track for any longer, the audience will not be able to relate. The relatability here is important.

That might be the case for some on-screen couples. In this case, I know for a FACT that it is not. Their distance is more related to Parth's end of the equation.

Now how many exclusive interviews were there with the other pairs? Mostly they were interviewed with others. Moreover, those pairs don't have half as many intense scenes as Manan. In fact, the show is riding on Manan craze although the story, script, direction and DOP is great too. Being a youth show, the lead pair's chem is equally or more important than all this.

I don't understand that logic either but was only citing some of the common perceptions out there. It is not necessary that the lead pair of any show should end up sleeping together. That was an extreme comment given by that director. I guess what is sought to be conveyed is that familiarity could breed contempt. So maintaining that awkwardness onscreen could raise the intensity offscreen. Note that I said maintain the awkwardness here. Yes, these two may have been awkward even otherwise but they may have decided to continue with it for the greater good of the show. Again just speculation, like the rest of the theories floating around.

Couldn't agree with you more on Manan is what matters and should matter. Who cares for what equation these two otherwise have offscreen.

Sorry dear I was saying people have a misconception not what you are implying. Sorry again if you were offended.

@Mittidikhushboo: I do agree with your point about the melodrama and depression quotient having increased off late...the show also went through the 6 epis a week phase which must have been quite tough for the team to deliver so inevitably the quality has taken a hit somewhat from the earlier days of the show when they were slowly establishing themselves.

But still they don't seem to have lost a handle on the story YET...so I'm not really put off totally yet either.

@Opti: Yes at the end of the day, only MaNan matter and everything else aside, clearly PaNi also realize that MaNan are what matter and focus their energies into doing justice to them...works well enough for me.

The awkward interviews just serve a different amusement purpose for me...lol
