This BOB thing made me wonder if this band consisted of only Manik and Harshad. Manik had said that the night was special to him because he found Dhruv that day only. So Dhruv was a stranger who saved him while his own friend-brother pushed him to save himself. The night also lead to Dhruv getting permanently hurt.
Now, Manik who is already a kid with insensitive parents and might have abandonment and trust issues, being pushed away by someone who he considers a friend to save himself. He would be so not okay with it. Or like, even if he forgave Harshad or decided to not confront him or ignored him completely, he was done being a friend to Harshad because the trust was already broken.
And then he had this guy who literally saved his life and got badly damaged the same night, now Manik feels that this guy who saved him but couldn't save himself needs him. It explains his guilt about not being able to protect Dhruv.
If not, then perhaps Dhruv was a friend even before it but Manik and Harshad were closer? But Dhruv was new into the fold and after the night, when Manik left Harshad, Dhruv followed too. Not much later, Alya started dating Manik. Then Mukti and Cabir came.
Regardless of their equation with Dhruv, Harshad was left behind by Manik and everyone followed in his footsteps. Harshad is left with the guilt of saving himself at the cost of putting Maniks life in danger. And everyone reminds him of that too. Dhruv, he doesn't seem to have a problem with or doesn't mess with because when Harshad was younger, he must have felt gratitude mixed in with jealousy towards Dhruv for being braver and saving Manik by putting himself in danger. If something had happened to Manik, the child Harshad would have been a different kind of monster.
But somewhere he was also expecting to be forgiven and accepted back into Manik's life as a friend. Maybe they were really close, like brothers. But Manik moved on and made new friends, a tightly knitted group who wouldn't give a f**k about themselves if it came to protecting their friends. He might have just stopped caring about Harshad or held some bitterness and resentment towards Harshad. It was f**king up with Harshad's brain because as much as he felt guilty for putting Manik's life in danger, he was happy that he saved himself - he couldn't feel guilty about saving himself - hence, the guilt o not feeling enough guilt.
And Manik move on in such a spectacular way, having everything and snatching so much from Harshad without even trying - A friend, two friends, a sister and peace of mind. Moving on from Harshad gave Manik a new life, a new family.
Fab5 and its very existence, these people around Manik and their relationship, the whole group in general was a slap on Harshad's face and another reminder of Harshad's actions on the fateful night. Fab5 was found on the ruins of BOB and they were everything that Harshad was not. The kept proving themselves to be everything that Harshad proved he was not, that night.
Hence, the need to break them, the need to prove how they were no different than himself, how their friendship was no different than what he himself had with Manik. The early attempts were out of jealousy towards Manik for having it all, having things Harshad was supposed to have, Harshad was supposed to be a part of.But one night, and everything was gone. The other reason was to show Manik that how his new pack/family/band etc was no different than what Manik and Harshad had. That when the time comes, these people would leave Manik and each other too if it came to protect and benefit themselves. In the moment of desperation and hardship, when they will be cornered and threatened, they would leave Manik too. It was his way to get some closure, to prove to Manik and to himself that the guilt he was feeling was not right, that what he did was very human and natural and anyone in his place would do it. Harshad wanted to find peace and get rid of this guilt.
Sadly in the process, all this guilt he kept to himself and the jealousy he had towards Manik and towards Fab5 just got mixed up, his own single-minded ways made him forget about everything and every time he failed to get his satisfaction and failed to show Manik the reality of things, he got more and more obsessed and the jealousy kept developing, the guilt never went away but he channeled it in a different way. He does not feel that he deserved to be alienated by his friends and sister for what he did, Manik was not hurt or dead no? So what is the problem?
Mukti and Cabir came later - After the end of BOB or perhaps they were always there but not a part of the gang consisting of the three boys and perhaps Alya.Manik was either friends with all the three including Dhruv or it happened after the Night. Alya was always there around Manik and was his age, so the same class and Harshad was older maybe. Mukti and Cabir came later and they might be so close because they both were friends even before Fab5 or meeting Alya,Manik and Dhruv. We know that by 7 standard they all had met and were friends. Fab5 as a band came to be when and how? We still don't know.
Now it seems that Harshad was just using Mukti - or better was trying to break her away from Fab5 and Manik - his first attempt to break the unity of Fab5 and their bond. Perhaps he tried reasoning with Alya and get her on his side but Alya was into Manik too deep. Dhruv, well if he was a friend before, then Harshad didn't knew what to do or say to him, the guy did save Manik while Harshad put him in danger.
Perhaps Dhruv too chose Manik and Mukti-Cabir were the two people Harshad had no intense history with. They seem like the easiest to break due to joining the gang later or coming into the lives of Manik and everyone else later. Or they were always there but not as tight with Manik and the rest like right now.Harshad was almost successful in breaking Mukti away from Fab5 and leaving Manik for herself and her love, hence proving Harshad's claim that he is not the only one who would leave Manik for his own benefit.
Alya was dating Manik, Dhruv depended on Manik and loved him like a brother and Manik was too protective about him, no chances there. Leaves Cabir, who Harshad has the least individual history with back in middle school and high school. Mukti might have had a crush on Alya's elder brother and Harshad exploited it. Cabir was one wild card who he couldn't get to. The one guy who was always on the offensive, he didn't knew much about him and the guy was loyal to Manik and protective about Fab5 and as we can see, had a sharp brain and was too perceptive, so stupid tricks weren't going to work here. He needed something big and was desperate so after returning from wherever he was, he went after Cabir with a passion. He also found the weakness and tried to use it. But, failed again.
Cabir MIGHT know something about Harshad's secret, the one which sent Manik from Harshad is not important, couldn't care less' mode to Harshad is a bas***d, he is an enemy' mode. Something to do with Nayonnica. Harshad might have done something to put more shit on Maniks head and it kind of back-fired or he didn't think it through but there is some kind of History between Nayonnica and Harshad.
The beef between Harshad and Cabir seems more heated up compared to Harshad-Dhruv. It might be simply because Cabir and Mukti are Bros and he hated the Jerk for using Mukti to get to them and f**king her up. And Cabir is not hesitant about sending people to heaven or hell for hurting his bros, hence the hatred because hurting, Harshad did in many ways. Harshad's other problem with Cabir was the frustration of not finding his weakness to use it against Cabir to separate him from Fab5 and Manik, Manik is the important link, it is all for him.He wants their weakness so that he can separate them from Manik and leave him a loner like he himself is, for which he blames Manik.
There might have been a time when he wanted Manik back as his friend, wanted to alienate him and then insert himself back in Manik's life. As Adhi said, he might be in some kind of f**ked up love with Manik. 😆
But now it seems impossible, Fab5 has made it impossible - at this point he would rather kill Manik and Cabir and who knows? Maybe even Dhruv for saving Manik and kidnap Alya and Mukti and run away. Now I desperately hope that Harshad was never in love with mukti. He just used her, might have become fond of her - but in that scene where he is questioning her if she would really leave FAB5 for her - it was so wrong.
