Yesterday when Nandu was making her (rather flat & emotionless 😆) declaration that Dhruv, the self proclaimed "Gaardien Anjil", is supposedly the one who is always present in her saddest moments to comfort her, I was totally rolling my eyes and mentally yawning. Despite his delusion that he can, Dhruv can never really see or understand the reason behind Nandini's tears. And hence never really comfort her. Dhruv might be a GREAT person (might being the operative word here 😳), but he just doesn't get Nandu. And luckily for her (and us), the one person who DOES, found her when she was slumped by the wall , hugging her knees, sobbing her way to resigned dejection.
To be honest, more than Nandu, I hurt more for Manik today. I know he is living a hell that's TOTALLY self-made, he ASKED for this ... but I can't help but feel for the kid. To see someone you adore SO much, in so much pain, reach out a comforting hand ... and then RETRACT it immediately... because of some shit YOU spewed earlier ... And then spew some MORE of the aforementioned faecal matter just to keep up the facade (which by the way is now slipping every other minute), that's gotta hurt like a bitch.
But Indirectly his sahi, it was MANIK, who actually helped her get back on her feet. He helped her muster the strength to rise up when she fell, barbed statements notwithstanding. And even then, his taunts fell short of spiteful. Because unlike back in the day, there is no real bite or venom to his words, only the wary frustration of having to word it all as the exact opposite of what he is actually feeling. At best his jibes were half-assed digs, at worse, empty derisions. And her terse, clipped replies snuffed out the possibility of whatever argument he was planning on having at that moment to further establish his claims to V for Vendetta . Thank God for pissed off Nandu, thank God for small mercies 😳.

So there they stood side by side, in an a wary interlude, where words that were being said held no meaning and the silence spoke volumes. And then one smiles a wry smile, and thinks to themselves ... of the writing in the stars and the machinations of the powers that be. That two people, who are meant to be, will always find their way back to each other ... in whatever capacity ... and be there for each other, regardless of what elaborate schemes they draw up to distance themselves from each other. It is going to take a lot more than Manik's magnanimous charitable contrivances to undo what he shares with Nandini. And tonight's little intermission just made it all that more clear.
Here's to little respites that alleviate all the hurt in the world and wary interludes where time stands still for you. And the little ray of hope they promise.
