Actually, when before Manik said "rok lo mujhe", he also said "Why don't you believe me. Are you sure Nandini?".. That "believe" made her recall every time he asked her how she's feeling about him and how he asked for her to "trust" him. That just exploded her mind and the doubt crept in. But still, even after that, she was begging him to prove her doubt wrong. Although Nandini's trust was shaken and didn't pass the trust test,it was harder to break her trust. Manik failed the test even before this fiasco. He didn't even trust her enough or trust his own feelings enough to be truthful with her. Young love where things like trust can't just come overnight.Its easier said than done. Nandini did trust him but there was still that room for error for that doubt to creep in. And, Manik being his impulsive self broke whatever faith she had in him and her love logic(fireflies), in the most hurtful way.

TRUST!

It's something which they have to rebuild. It will be harder this time because of how Manik chose to handle the situation and how things have turned out sour & ugly but after they do start building the blocks, they will emerge stronger than ever.
