Hmmm…. I get what you are saying Nits ….. Paradoxical people, full of contradictions are sooo much more interesting than plain run-of-the-mill-oldies (sorry to all gals who shirk away from Mr.bad-ass)…. because I feel, the badder they are. The harder they fall & make much better & worthwhile life partners … When they do something…. they go in all the way and that really is the way to love someone: not by inches, measures, bits and portions: But wholeheartedly body, mind, and soul…. I guess with the other variety u r never sure when they are committing totally or not....
Plus, like u said… those little gestures …. I think that it's the lil gestures that count so much more…..and they truly reflect the real amount of love u have for someone else….(BTW- What in the world do you eat that makes you such a deliciously intuitive person …hmmm???? Feel like sharing this recipe Nits????)
As far as the latter bit is concerned, I don't quite agree with you when you say that love's mortal fallibility is a shame…. Its not: Think about it: Fallibility in love is like one of love's myriad 'terms of use' (for lack of a better word) Love comes bundled with many such chinks (kinda like the Microsoft Explorer of our MS Windows!!): It's a package deal. We are (and remain) fallible whether or not we ask for it…. In fact, we are that much more fallible when we are in love. Sometimes we are aware of this aspect & (rightfully) make allowances for it in our dealings and dealing with others …. And sometimes …. well, we are just cocksure, feeling oh-so-lucky …. And assume that we belong in the "Its-not-gonna-happen-to-me- I am - too - smart - to - fall-for-this-crap" kinda category. But guess what: Love often does get the better of us and we do (eventually) fall prey to its fallibility! I think Angad and Kripa both (by turns) fell victim to it: she when she thought she was mature enough and could hide a (seemingly) small detail from Angad … but that backfired badly (and how!) and Angad too…. (he who started out disbelieving the garbage that his family fed him abt Kripa …. But gave proof of his fallibility when despite his inner convictions, he let the green eyed monster rear its ugly head when he saw Kripa and Prithvi in (relatively)innocent situations…. No shame in that....
Had A-K not been fallible or mere mortals …. They would have survived what were mere ripples in their burgeoning r/ship….. It is this very unpredictable nuance which makes love what it is: an inexpliable emotion that refuses to be neatly boxed in and explained…. I feel that the mere fact that you can act petty and jealous and crazy at times and sacrificing, all giving at others explains the overwhelming way in which it can overpower you. And make you fallible.
But then, I am reminded of the saying "For the heart is an organ of fire... (from the excellent movie The English Patient) and it all somehow makes sense…… and like u said, if it is that rare breed of man doing all the firing .... why resist the temptation at all???? 😆 😆 😆
Wat say Nits???
