Recipe: Karela subji๐
Ingredients: deseeded & chopped karela- 2 cups, finely chopped onions- 2 cups, grated coconut- 2 cups, chopped coriander leaves- 1 cup, red chilly powder- 1 tbsp., coriander powder- 1 tsp., 1 tsp.jeera powder, Half tsp.garam masala, Half lemon juice extract , 1 tsp.turmeric(haldi) powder, 1 tbsp.sugar, 8 tbsp.oil(4+4) salt to taste.Karela, the best vegetable on the surface of the earth, has many uses and benefits of eating it. One we all can't deny would be its very strong, scrumptious, juicy bitter taste we all adore! But more importantly, Kalera is very nutritious for health! Researchers have found out that the Karela contains 44 kcal, 5.6 g protein, 290 mg calcium, 5 mg iron, 5.1 mg vitamin A, 170 mg vitamin C per 100 g serving which is much more that many other vegetables. Karela is very good for your health as it ensures you remain healthy and your brain functions excellently. And with a low concentration of sugars, it ensres you'll never be within the grasps of deabetes. So all you people who aren't considered the brightest (unlike me๐ณ๐๐) go but some Karela and in no time u'll be smart too!
Karela Recipe
In light of this event where we all admire Karela's taste and nutritional values i have a receipe which truely lets us savour Karela's flavour and taste. Its called the karela juice! Its very simple and absolutely delicious. Just cut Your Karela into two, after admiring its beauty of course, and insert part by part into your juicer. If you don't have a juicer, you can get one at any leading appliance store near your house. You will thus get ur juice. You may want to comtemplate adding some water but i warn you it will dilute the aroma and taste. Don't add sugar as its spoils the whole flavour of Karela. This is a drink which retains all the goodness of Karela and not only gives its tasters great enefits but also gives them a whole new sensation of tasting karela at its best!
DO TRY IT!
Uzi: A very well composed entry, with humour in it aswell very much appreciated! the wide benefits of the karela are explored with much enthusiasm. Also the karela juice recipe is written with so much adoration for the recipe! excellent.

Thank you once agen Judges!๐The good thing about my favorite sabzi "the karela" is that they not only taste great but are also are good for your health. Although, I have to admit, I dont eat karela's because their healthy, but because of their yummy taste. Once I take a bite, I cant stop. My heart goes "yeh dil maange moreeee." Their bitter taste makes my mouth water. That is why, in my opinion... karelas are better in taste.
My OWN Recipe:
Ingredients:
5-10 Karelas
Lal Mirch
Salt To Taste
Haldi
Garam Masala
Mustard Oil
1). Wash and dry your karelas thoroughly.
2). Slice open the karela's horizontally.
3). Fill each karela with a mixture of the masalas
4). Cook for 15 mins in the mustard oil (in an open pan)
5). Serve with Rotis or paranthas
1) ok taste ya phir healthiness! erm mujhey to taste main hi pasand hai ๐ณ healthy bhi hai obviously but u know everyone eats everything they hardly care if ti is healthy or not they care about the taste which is good and if it is good in tase and also good in healthiness then why not aisi cheezein aaj kal kahan milti hai!๐ณ๐ณ
2) Erm i like karelas ok let me tell you how my mama cooks waisey mein bhi bana sakti hoon!๐ณ Erm u know pehley onions ko thoda brown karo karelon ke saath ta ke karela ka karva pan chala jaye phir usmein tomatoe aur sarey namak mirchein waghera make it like a masala phir usmein pani dal ke dhakan de do phir jab pani sukh jaye to zara thodi der hilao and ur karelas done!
i like it that way kyon ki it is all spicy and ziada karva bhi nahin hota!! and it tastes really good do try it!๐๐ณ
Karela is perhaps the most bitter of vegetables. Easily recognized by its shiny, fleshy and peculiar warty-looking surface, irregular ridges and bumps run the length of the fruit. summer months, bitter melon is a common vegetable consumed by millions around the world. Vast majority who have tried bitter melon probably found the experience quite unpleasant, not something they would ever want to repeat. But really, karela is a delicious vegetable โ when cooked right and when latent taste buds on the tongue are given the chance to become acquainted with the most misunderstood and maligned of the five primary flavors. Moreover, it is immensely nutritious
Rich in iron, karela has twice the beta carotene of broccoli, twice the calcium of spinach, twice the potassium of bananas, and contains vitamins C and B 1 to 3, phosphorus and good dietary fiber. It is believed to be good for the liver and has been proven by western scientists to contain insulin, act as an anti-tumor agent, and inhibit HIV-1 infection
the bitter flavor may initially take some getting used to, but can become addictive once a taste for it is acquired. It would be prudent for a beginner to ease into it, starting with a mild bitter and gradually working up to higher concentrations.

Serve hot with rotis.Bitter gourd, or popularly known as Karela in India, this vegetable is another of nature's bountiful gifts to mankind. It not only has fabulous, digestional properties, it is a storehouse of home remedies for many common ailments. Karela is rich in healthiness than taste when used raw.
Surprisingly this vegetable can be converted in many mouthwatering dishes, which are neither as bitter nor as uninviting as the raw vegetable. Bitter gourd is eaten in many forms in practically every country.
Usually people cook Karela in more water and drain, squeeze the Karela and cook in their own way. But by doing this U may loose not only Karelas bitterness but also some of its original healthy properties.
I give U two recipes which are rich in its own healthy properties.๐ณ
Recipe: 1.
Take 4 Karelas, raw ones, firm and rich in green color.
Cut the edges a little and slit lengthy wise. U can keep seeds as they r good for health but U can remove if they r big.
Mix 2tbsps rice flour with required salt, 1tsp mirchi powder (U can add more if u like spicy), 1/2tsp jeera.
Stuff the mix of flour into the slitted Karelas and tie with a thread so the stuff won't come out.
Heat 2tbspns of cooking oil and put the stuffed Karelas into that and fry till golden brown.
Serve hot with rice or chapatti, polkas.
It's yummy. My kids love it so U too enjoy it.
Serves 2 people.
Recipe 2
Take 2 Karelas and cut into round thin pieces not very thin but 1mm thickness.
Take 4tbspns of hard curd/yogurt and mix the cut pieces and keep a side for few minutes.
Mix 4tbsps of rice flour and add salt, jeera, mirchi powder.
Heat cooking oil in a kadai to deep fry the Karela pieces.
Now take a little quantity of cut pieces and put into the flour.
Take out excess flour and put the pieces into the oil to deep fry them.
Fry all pieces in the same procedure in medium flame till golden brown.
Serve hot with rice or roti, chapatti, polkas.
Serves 2 people.
Hope U experiment in your house and enjoy the delicious dishes with Karela.๐ณ
