Hey all! Must say that I received a bit of a shock today; because the kyph writers rather than promptly forgetting all about yesterday's gut wrenching confrontation (like they are prone to treating all major last minute show stoppers), actually started off the episode from there. Showing us not only the follow up to the scene but also the 'thappad' again, in all its resounding glory…….and it wasn't the only thappad that Angoo baby had received before Kripa was done with him; physical or emotional. Go Krips!
Anyways, the first and best set of the episode opened with Angad taunting her about forgetting the 'good time' they had had and then openly leering in her face; causing Kripa to deliver the by now famous stinging slap. But that wasn't enough for her; for finally Angad had managed in striking a blow where it hurt the most….and Kripa struck back at him, a wounded tigress, ready to draw blood over what she perceived the vilification of the thing that she had considered the most precious. And thus very effectively silencing Angad completely with first her unsurpassed wrath and then later as she unconsciously poured out her heart, her soul, her very deepest thoughts and emotions. Changing from enraged tigress to wounded gazelle in front of Angad's eyes and causing our crass hero of yesterday to not only genuinely repent his low class attack, but also causing a deeper more unfathomable pain.
Sigh! If Angad had been hoping to get a rise out of Kripa; then he succeeded beyond his wildest expectations; for Kripa lashed out at him with the intensity of a raging tornado; giving way too feelings that had been pent up too long, that hurt too much and that only made it is so utterly obvious to see that Kripa loves him still, to the very limits of desperation, just like he still loves her regardless of everything that has transpired. They are crazily in love with other and yet too stubborn; hurt too deeply, to admit it out loud.
Kripa screeched at him that he was a disgusting man and that he d.i.s.g.u.s.t.e.d her! And then she inflicted a far deeper and more painful blow when she screamed in his face that he was the only man to have known her intimately and that while for her it had been something pure and joyous; a source of euphoria and what she thought then would be lifelong good memories…..something sacred almost; for him it had been nothing but just another good time he had spent with some girl (Ouch!) to be thrown back in her face like this. And she delivered two more slaps on his iron jawed face in rapid succession. But this wasn't just what he had said; it was all the bottled up hurt in her coming to the fore like bubbling lava……raging to explode out of its confines and burn up everything with its heated intensity.
She had loved him, wholly and completely, and entrusted him with her heart, her mind, her body…her whole life and she thought that he simply threw it all back in her face and now had the gall to make insensitive and demeaning remarks about it. All in all it led to Kripa raving and crying desperately, while Angad stood there; taking it all in; pain marring his features to have his love tell him that she had loved him with a bottomless intensity as well…..reminding him of exactly what he had lost. (only for the time being darlings; only for the time being!!!)
But Kripa was blind to his pain……too consumed with all the churning emotions in her that were trying to get out…..and she spat out that she was ashamed of herself for doing what she had done with him and for loving him; and that she hated him. And delivered her final crippling blow to Angad's heart and soul; reminding him of their baby, the little miracle that she had carried in her womb; and brokenly crying that it was a good thing that she had lost it or it would have had a hideous man like him for a father.
Anguish, pure and undiluted, at this reminder of the loss of yet another thing that he had loved more than life itself, washed across Angad's face and he swung around so that Kripa couldn't see his face and the raw emotions washing over him. (Sigh! The loss of that baby is an ache that will never leave their hearts. Or mine, for that matter!)
He stood with his back to her while one of the kyph songs (new, I think….lyrics went something like, 'har aik kahaani adhuri mohabbat ki') played in the background while he remembered and lamented over his times with Kripa; happy times, tumultuous times……post ding-dong morning, Kripa flinging sindoor across his face on the day of his Sangeet with Mishty, yesterday's lovely flashback, the lipstick/sindoor scene, Kripa's birthday, the party where he first turned away from her……..and he looked completely shattered, causing my heart to go out to both of them and ache at this never-ending trial of separation that they are living through. Finally he gathered his composure enough to utter a tortured, 'I'm Sorry!' and turned around slowly, only to see that cow Mishty where Kripa had previously stood. Okay, forgive me for being harsh but can you imagine what I felt like when I was sitting there watching this achy-breaky scene playing out with my heart in my mouth; and suddenly lo and behold! Krips was gone and Mishty was standing there; nagging at him to finish getting ready. Humph! That's about as anti-climatic as it gets, I tell you.
No fear, it's Krips he marries while Mishty and her precious brother are left high and dry; and I don't care if it makes me sound mean spirited but this thought gives me endless satisfaction…..kya karoon, just cant see anyone coming between my precious A-K…..and the Bose siblings seems to have made a habit out of doing just that. Sigh!
Mishty left the room; while Angad just remained standing there, lost in his own abyss of pain. While at the same time; Kripa too could be found giving way to a storm of tears, but where earlier Mishty had been the eyesore, now it was Prithvi's turn. He came to comfort her; mistakenly assuming that Mishty's words were what was troubling her (Ha! That's all you know!!!!) And reassuring her that Mishty didn't know any better, since she was only, and I quote, 'a bacchi!!!!!' (Okay, I've just taken grave umbrage at his description of Mishty? What does that make Kripa then??? A babe still in the cradle?????)
And while Prithvi comforted her with his ludicrous words; Angad saw them while passing from there, okay, more like when he saw them in passing and then stopped to stare at them intently; and I couldn't quite put a figure on his expression, was it…angry, pained, determined, menacing almost…what? A spectacular combination of all these would be my guess. (Btw Hafsoo, did you check out the jacket?) And then he turned around and stalked off determinedly. I'm guessing his sorrow over the earlier happenings was greatly replaced by the desire to fulfill his challenge to get Kripa on the stage; after watching this little scenario.
The second set started off with a bang with Angad making his appearance on the stage; taking a leap in the air, only to come down, skidding along on his knees; blowing kisses, trailing his hand against all the eager ones stretched out to touch him, pulling girls out of the audience to come onto the stage. Finally, he was done with his 'big' entrance and catching hold of the mike, thanked his fans for having placed their unwavering trust in him. But he had barely uttered these words when he started coughing….slightly at first and then more and more persistently; until finally he excused himself and went striding offstage; whilst Prithvi and Mishty looked on worriedly and Kripa, suspiciously.
They go after him, only to find out that his throat felt itchy and achy and that he didn't think he would be able to handle the show on his own…….(what a convenient sore throat, Angoo baby….you really can be devious at times. Lol.)……..but that he would be able to do it if only someone was able to help him out at first; after that he would take over. And he then flicked a gloating; challenging look Kripa's way; as he had very effectively put into motion the mechanism that would ensure that he would fulfill his challenge and get Kripa to sing with him onstage…….and Kripa knew it too.
So as Prithvi fretted over the fact that the show was ruined, Zaib very casually said that he had 'heard' that Kripa was a real good singer and was sure that she hadn't lost her spark…but Prithvi refused…..prompting Mishty to bare her claws again (and I really don't like the way she's forever taking digs at our Krips!!!) and Prithvi and Mishty have an argument over whether Kripa should sing or not; only to be interrupted by the frantic manager who warned them that they would be 'ruined' if the show didn't go ahead. (Oh for heaven sakes! A couple of million rupees losses at the most, doesn't really mean the end of civilization as we know it….ruined, my foot. And isn't Prithvi supposed to be totally loaded or whatever.)
Kripa meanwhile, was remembering the challenge that Angad had thrown down in front of her and a killer A-K 'look' follows; before Kripa agreed to sing; while Angad stood there, looking triumphant at the success of his wily plan.
Cut to Kripa, looking lovely as the lady in white, standing on the stage looking slightly unsure of herself at first and then hesitantly started to sing; "Dil hai kai manta nahin……yeh bekaraari kyun ho rahin hai; jaanta nahin'……….and remembered the first time that they had hugged; when she first told Angad that she loved him.
And while she was lost in her reverie, Zaib's voice cut across hers, and she turned around to see that he was coming towards her from the back of the stage; singing too…….. "Dil tou yeh chaahay; pal pal tumhain bas hum dekha karain…….mar kar bhi hum tum sai judaa na hoon; aao kuch aisa karain…….mujh mai samaa ja; meray pass aaja; humdum meray, meray dilnasheen……..dil hai kay manta nahin!"……..very appropriate lyrics, don't you think. And while they sang, both of them were lost in each others gaze; tears swimming in their eyes along with the echo of their love and longing; pain and suffering. Sigh!
Okay; having dealt with the A-K element; allow me to say that the concert was a complete and total DUD!!! Seriously; it was appallingly bad. And the third set is something that everybody would be better of avoiding altogether, seriously……had a song sung by some former Indian Idol contestant and then a hideously bad performance to a song from 'Bride & Prejudice' by a guy and a gal wearing blue….I just snoozed through it all; waiting to see if they would show A-K again.
And my long and agonizing wait was proved fruitful when A-K were shown, together with Prithvi and Mishty; backstage. Both of them congratulated A-K on their show being a great hit, Blah! Blah! And finally Prithvi hugged Kripa; and Mishty flung herself at Angad……but the two siblings had their backs towards each other; allowing a clear and undisrupted view to guess which two ppl; allowing A-K to stare away at each other to their heart's content, and that was highly conducive for them to carry on one of their famous 'silent' conversations as well………Kripa silently told Angad that, "Iss concert mai mujh sai zabardasti gawaa kar tum samajh rahay ho gay kay yeh tumhari jeet hai; Lekin mai apni haar ka badla lai kar rahoon gi!!!"
And on this declaration of war; the episode ended. Sigh! A-K, you fools, the look you see on each others faces while you are conducting your famous staring contests is not hatred but a far different emotion……yearning, longing, pining…..!!!!!!! When will you figure it out, our lovable, if a bit thick headed, sweethearts???
You know, while I was watching this scene, it reminded me of the famous DTPH dance sequence; where Kripa was dancing with Prithvi and Angad was dancing with Mishty; while both of them surreptitiously sneaked glances at each other; and in the background their souls were shown dancing together. If I had been in charge of this scene in today's episode; I would have shown A-K's souls hugging lovingly in the background too; fondly shaking their heads at their mortal possessor's stubbornness and resistance against the very thing that could take away all their pain……….
……………okay I'm talking nonsense now; had a long day and am bone tired and more than halfway brain-dead……..so I'll spare you guys now.
Oh and just one more thing; I just cannot figure out why they have stopped showing the previews; now I'm going to spend my weekend quizzing over what's going to happen on Monday. Any idea?
