Mistyeyed_25, Varun as a character might have had substance, but he never matched upto Rishi's popularity because Varun was the good guy and Rishi the bad guy full of attitude. Varun as a character never really had anything outstanding about him. Ejaz Khan's who formerly played Varun became popular only after he started playing Arjun Punj and Kavya Nanda.He could match upto Shabbir's popularity only because of the roles he got.
Anyway we cannot do anything if Sony is promoting Iqbal or Neha or anyone else. It is their wish.

In tv bad man is the safest way ,sometimes villains are loved more than the heros [goody goody types ]girls love negative characters .it will be a bonus if cassanova type fall in love

Why has this turned into an IQ vs Neha and Amit sort of argument? When fans say they want to see more of Neha and Amit there arent any conditions being placed on that argument.

No one is saying we MUST see less of IQ, we just want to see MORE of Neha and Amit. Thats it. IQ is the most popular actor on KYPH, that argument cant be debated. Why? Because as it has been said its mainly women that watch these soaps and women tend to want to know more about the "hearthrob" on the show. But I truly think television studios need to realize that women ALSO want to know about the other women on the show. We arent some sort of horomonal maniacs that only care about the men we swoon over, we also find ourselves admiring and even comparing ourselves to the female protagonist on the show. The former is not mutually exclusive from the latter.

In any case yes I can see why Sony and Balaji would want to promote IQ. The man is a marvelous actor and im sure he will go very far. But fans dont just have to be fans of ONE single actor or thing. Many are also Neha fans and Amit fans...we just want it all to be equal. Theres no harm in wanting that, but realistically speaking I really dont think that Amit will ever get the same promotion as IQ. Neha *may* gradually get more but I doubt either will ever recieve the same amount as IQ. So theres no need to argue about who is more popular and why....thats just going to go around in circles and offend many people.

I read alot of replies over here and i agree wid misty, ak4eva,maya and LCJ!

• First of all I flatly!!!!!!! disagree wid dose who thnk tht it is angad who is the main character or the best known character and cums up to the standards of jassi.Or rather tht kripa or prithvi dont hold as muh importance!..lemme tell u..kyph is supposed tu be a love saga, and where so it is angad, kripa automatically pops in!!!.Angad's story revolves arnd kripa and kripa's story revolves arnd angad!.no pt evn on arguing more in dis, coz if in the frst place kyph is evn an averge hit today , the reason mainly beng the fiery innocent luvstry and the awesome chemistry!.They are both as important as anythng in the serial!. .prithvi holds a pivotol role in kyph and forms its bakbone, so if there is no bakbone then again no show!
• secondly, here we are only debating on wht shd have been the case, not arguing or fitng, we are just putting forth our opinions and i ammend its grace tu be respected!
• as far as iq, neha/amit,starplus are concerned i repeat again tht sony doesnt evn half the viewership cummng up to the level of tht of star plus, reasons welll known tu us!..talkng abt saasbahu sagas or love stories, star promotes all in all!...they make sure tht the characters forming the bakbone of the serial are given their due importancd and dats wht has made dat channel a super succes!, in any cas sony is nowhere near!.iq gets his popularity well and gud, we are lovng tht tu bt the only thng we are pointing out here, tht amit and neha shd get their due tu!..Infact i believe alll characters like dese on the ongoing soaps shd get it!.thts how they are going tu attract more ppl!..Otherwise its gonna be the same!..
• for those who thnk tht in saas bahu sagas the case is different, lemme tell u, rishi and akshat, both od kth whih happens tu be a love story , have been gettng their due credits wid interviews and the rite amnt of publicty going on!..They dnt and y shd they get as muh popularity as sujal-kashish in any case, bt despit it yes they still are popular!! and have their dues given tu them ritefully!

Yeah, Iqbal is a good actor - but KYPH did not become popular because Iqbal is a good actor and because he looks hot.

Iqbal became popular because of KYPH and KYPH is popular because people liked the initial story line of a innocent girl with spine that fell in love with a casanova and taught him how to love.

Displaying Iqbal as a casanova who uses women is hardly going to be seen as being very appealing to the majority of the women audience.

So believe that they will realise this sooner or later and make amends.

That is what I think - I started watching only when I saw the A-K jodi and am sure there are many like us AK4EVA.

evn in the casanova phase, the trps are still invisible, so whts the whole pt in the show, being better in those days, sony shd wake up and smell the coffe, and den rather act accordingly!

I can bet, not only the soap wud do better bt also the channel if amit and neha are also given publicty, if not equivalent tu iq, then atleast, the rite ful!...neha is still gettng sum of ! it...bt wht abt amit!..and da same for all other ongoing soaps on sony!

the best in any case all in all wud be wen angad-kripa are promoted as a jodi and prithvi as the integral bakbone!😃
