This aint new in Ekta soaps, or any soap for that matter. But I am appalled at the total mockery these "intellectual" people make of out of our judiciary.
Being an aspiring lawyer, I get irritated when I see their legal ignorance.
First of all…..In India, it is practically impossible to decide a murder case in one week….. Or even one month for that matter. The minimum duration required to decide a murder case in India is atleast 6 years….. It could even stretch up to 14 yrs. The people who assassinated the Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi have not been hanged as yet. More than 10 years have passed since his assassination, and his murderers have not been punished…..but Angad gets convicted! When the life of a rockstar like Angad is at stake, I bet dragging the case is not a very difficult task. BTW, was Shabbir Ahluwalia, a drunken dejected man formerly in love the only lawyer the stinkingly rich and influential Khannas and Kripa think of?
If the accused does not have a lawyer to defend him, the court appoints a government lawyer to fight his case. Even a beggar does not go lawyer less and our dear Angad, the star was almost prosecuted without a lawyer?? Call it a loophole in the Indian legal system or whatever but law believes that every accused is innocent until proven guilty. If there is even 1% doubt in the judge's mind that the accused might be innocent, the accused goes scott free. And creating a doubt in the judge's mind in this case was easier than drinking water. I wonder what the forensic experts were doing. Josh would have been stabbed atleast an hour before Angad reached the spot. Even if Angad did not have an alibi, he was found at the spot of the crime more than an hour after the stabbing is reason enough to create an apprehension.
There was no way the judge could have delivered his verdict just like that; that because of the absence of a lawyer.
Another appalling absence of detail was absence media coverage. Rockstar Angad is in jail and there is no media person following his fianc Kripa or his family?? Indian media is much more CHIPKO than that! Any small incident, and press persons are right there for coverage!
Finally there was no reason for Kripa to cry or Prithvi to feel happy because this case is only at the district court. It still needs to make its journey form the district court to high court to Supreme Court to the President of India before its fate can be decided. That would easily take 10 yrs. Ektaa also seems to have forgotten that something called bail exists . No one seemed to even mention anything about a bail for Angad!
MY INFERENCE: Scriptwriters should go back to class 7 and learn something about the Indian Judicial system before writing the scripts. I bet they all used to sleep through their Civics and Social Science classes in School!
