Rajeev Khandelwal has finally decided to quit the daily soap Kahin To Hoga. Sujal (his character) will no longer be a part of the Grewal family, it was decided on April 25. While the actor blames the decision on time constraint, since he couldn't juggle dates for this Balaji soap and Ketan Mehta's sequel to Pradhan Mantri, the fact that the script is laying more stress on the Rishi-Swayam conflict, could also be a reason. "I have quit Kahin To Hoga. It was a mutual understanding with the production house. May 15 will be my last day of shooting." Khandelwal said he had informed Balaji Telefilms about the dates he'd have to shell out for Mehta, and the decision to drop his character was taken over two months ago. The actor had decided to quit the soap once before when his character was being sidelined to focus on Rishi (Shabbir Ahluwalia). But while shooting for his last episode, he changed his mind and stayed on. At the moment, Khandelwal is only shooting for Mehta's mini series. "I am not working on anything else. I don't play safe games. I work in only those projects that satisfy me." Kahin To Hoga's writer Anil Nagpal said he hadn't had a meeting with the creative heads, "but it's been decided that Rajeev will be granted a positive exit from the serial." But he tells you it's not over till it's over. "Let's wait till Rajeev gives his last shot. Last time, he changed his mind at the nth hour." I found this on yahoogroups (I'm sorry if it's already on the forum) |
