Transcripts of LIVE INDIATIMES CHAT with TV actress, Surveen Chawla at 12 noon (IST) on Wednesday, December 6, 2005 in Mumbai Surveen Chawla TV actress "I was never dejected about missing out on doing a soap commercial with Aishwarya because this hit and miss thing really keeps your drive going on" Vasudha_kzkfan > Hi Surveen! How is it to work with Shweta Tiwari and Cezanne Khan? Surveen Chawla > It's good fun. I have nothing to do with their personal lives. They are very nice to me and so am I to them. Zain_jilani > Who is your best friend on the set? Surveen Chawla > On the sets, my best friends are Shubha (Tanisha in Kasauti Zindagi Kay ), Kirti Kelkar (Kanan in Kahin Toh Hoga ). Jumbo > How did you feel when you had to miss out doing a soap commercial with Aishwarya Rai? Do you think you missed an important chance to showcase yourself more? These things do matter in today's competitive world, don't they? Surveen Chawla > Yes, they do matter but I was never dejected about it because there is a lot to come in life, and this hit and miss thing really keeps your drive going on. I was quite upset but I have moved on. Sweetie > So what's this thing with Chaitanya? Are you two seeing each other? Or you are still in the denial mode? Why is it that these days' modern guys and gals like you deny having a boy friend? Is there some kind of insecurity? Surveen Chawla > First of all, I am a very simple and but a modern girl and, as you said, if I were to see someone, I wouldn't deny it. I would rather be an open book. As far as Chaitanya and I are concerned, we are good friends. I am not like that (in the sense of denying having a boy friend) so I won't know. In fact, I also keep wondering why do they (girls usually) deny it. Vasudha_kzkfan > Which role of yours do you prefer- Kasak or Charu? Surveen Chawla > Charu, because it's quite close to me in reality and at the moment nothing is happening with Kasak's life. Gala > You want to do films but won't wear any revealing outfits Why? Surveen Chawla > At the moment, I don't want to do movies. At any point of time, if I do movies then will wear revealing clothes to some extent. But only to a certain extent because I have my own lines drawn clearly. Anurodh > Hi Surveen! If you are offered some kind of role like Mallika Sherawat with Jackie Chan (in Myth ) will you accept it? Surveen Chawla > No, no, no, no; can't relate my self to her and to such roles. Zain jilani > Are you working on any Pakistani drama? Please write your email address. Surveen Chawla > None. surveenchawla@hotmail.com . Magic > Surveen, how did you get into this line? Where are you from? Surveen Chawla > I am from Chandigarh. I had no intentions to get into TV. I just packed my bags and came to Bombay (Mumbai) one day. Thereafter, I auditioned for Balaji Productions and was selected. Jay > Hi Surveen. I know many people might ask you this, but how does one become an actor in film. In your opinion, what's the process and the best way to prepare oneself? Surveen Chawla > Basically, you need to groom yourself and acting comes with experience. Very few are born actors and rest is just confidence in what you are doing; how you carry yourself. You need to be bindaas (carefree) in front of the camera. Vasudha_kzkfan > What kind of a relationship do you share with Chaitanya? Do you have a boy friend? Surveen Chawla > I am good friends with him and I don't have a boy friend. Rita_80in > Surveen, who are your favourite actors? Surveen Chawla > Favourite actor - Amitabh Bachchan, Paresh Rawal, Rani Mukherjee. And on TV, I would say Sakshi Tanwar (Parvati of Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki ) and Smriti Irani (Tulsi of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi ). Lili > If you didn't plan to act, then why did you get into it? And what did you want to be if not an actress? Surveen Chawla > Once I came to Mumbai, I wanted to get in to ad films and do modelling. Before that, I wanted to become a doctor. Then, I wanted to do my MBA and it's best to get in to things, which just happen to you, and those that you don't plan. Zain jilani > I am from Sialkot Pakistan. I wish you best of luck and thanks for chatting with us. Surveen Chawla > Thank you very much and please keep watching us. Lve u > Hi Surveen, Kahi To Hoga Wo Kahi Pe Mila Ki Nahi. (He must be somewhere for you t find him)! Surveen Chawla > Nahi Woh Abhi Talak Nahi Mila . (Yet to find him)! Anurodh > Surveen, what's your future plans, beyond TV? Surveen Chawla > At the moment, none because I don't wish to plan my future. Sign Off Message > Thanks a lot for all the response that you have given and for all the appreciation and love. A very happy new year to all. Love, Surveen. |
