Is that you Reemz or Jzee?
I just started the show today and have a lot to say
Enjoyed reading your take.
Three episodes in, I've liked the show
I like how they've noted the long working hours and the prejudice against TV actors....the constant comparison to film actors and considering TV actors to be lower than film actors.
I liked that the comparison was touched upon. And I think they will continue with it bcos of the sister's film aspirations and her mother in sensitively taking digs at TV actors. But I hope they don't overdo it. It has the potential to become irritating fast so I hope they deal with it with subtlety.
2) Sonakshi's side of the family consists of a somewhat stereotypical greedy star mom but the actress playing her is doing a good job of playing grey, not a typical vamp. Also, Sonakshi's tendency to look past her mother's greedy nature and caustic tongue and just focus on the fact that she loves her hasn't been shown in as trite a manner.
4) Rohit's side of the family is surprisingly modern for a 9 pm SP show....usually most of them are either stereotypical village characters or there is one super loud character in the family to build slapstick humor or drama around....lol here they seem mostly cosmopolitan in demeanor with possible greys but no typical vamp-giri so far.
Right now both families have potential candidates for turning into stereotypical vamps and villains. But I am hoping against hope they can avoid that for as long as they can 😆
6) The mystery of 26th September.....seems like Rohit may have been responsible for the death of Sonakshi's dad....that seems to be the one patient he lost that still haunts him.
This was interesting. Possibly an accident which caused sonakshi injury and her dad but an odd place of injury for her.and I wonder what caused the failed operation. Just bad luck or negligence and mistake on his part. Could make for interesting backstory.
I enjoyed the show so far. It has all elements to turn into a typical daily soap in place. Big joint families. Controlling mother, greedy selfish uncle aunts who all can turn negative, father son issues which the heroine will solve. I hope they surprise me and not turn it into heroine quitting acting and solve husband's family issues for trps.

Lol what? 😕No, this is neither Reemz nor Jzee.
I guess you are from the Gulaal forum? Lol and you don’t remember me 😆

Thank you :)
@bold: lol I see high chances of that happening too 😆. The moment she marries Rohit, all her onscreen superbahu skills will be transferred into her tackling Sippy family issues.
Or they could show her continuing to work and be Sippy bahu and that will create family conflict. Lol I’m not sure if they’ve planned the long term story of the TV soap backdrop. Sonakshi seems close enough to her Parvati character offscreen as well given how she justifies nonsensical storylines as “Hope” for audience. Lol

Yes!!!! your ID is too familiar. I can’t seem to remember who, it’s been so many years. Let me do some Jasooosi🤣
Got it, nureat aka Anu???? Rightttttttttt! Omg, here we meet again! Well, I kinda started liking the show !

Lol yes this is Anu, or Nur as some of you guys called me back then.
You’re Saamya’s friend, right? Piu, is it?
I’ve liked the initial epis of the show so far too but I’m wary of it turning cliched soon enough. Sandeep Sickand’s previous productions suffered similar fates.

Yes, you got it absolutely right!
I liked it too. Light hearted and interesting like a meta on TV actors but the same cliche idealism of the heroine! Let’s see how it pans out. I will jump on your threads Anu. It’s been a long time and I do remember your wonderful posts🤗 from Gulaal and NBT
Three episodes in, I've liked the show so far. Things that have stood out to me:
1) The depiction of the life of a TV actor. Bits and pieces of this have been explored in other shows recently including the SAB show that was about the producer of a daily soap and the drama that his actors put him through.....but this show takes a more natural route so far.
It's been surprising to see the lack of typical loud negative characters so far which seems the staple of every SP show from it's very inception/first epi. Usually one has to zone out such characters to watch the show....but here so far, that hasn't been the case.
I like how they've noted the long working hours and the prejudice against TV actors....the constant comparison to film actors and considering TV actors to be lower than film actors.
3) Sonakshi seems to be a woman juggling too much....kind of like many women out there, but in her case, she truly is stretching herself extra thin....with balancing her very hectic TV career alongside her magnanimous heart which feels the need to personalize any interaction she has with people, big and small. I suppose most TV actors struggle with managing their health concerns but in Sonakshi's case, she seems to be especially negligent since she's busy trying to be a good daughter/sister/colleague on top of everything else.
5) The breaking of the fourth wall.....this trope has potential to be used well as the story progresses...it helps clarify thought processes and backstory without needing to put in forced storylines.....let's see if they can continue using it well.
6) The mystery of 26th September.....seems like Rohit may have been responsible for the death of Sonakshi's dad....that seems to be the one patient he lost that still haunts him.
7) So far, no instant attraction and mainly no-nonsense interactions between the lead characters. Rest, time will tell. lol
What I didn't like: The title theme song....kinda blahh. Music could have been better.
Waiting to see how long this spell lasts before the show shifts to garish high voltage drama in the desperation for TRPs😆
@bold:🤣That is exactly what I thought. Also, side character have real scenes so far like sonakshi’s mom and rohit’s aunt scene.
Back to the show, its pretty good so far. The main leads have chemistry, there is humor and I relate with Dr. Sippy on elemental level about ITV and how far away it is from reality.🤣
I think the show will do just fine cos as per SP standards they have already dragged the inauguration of the new hospital wing from first episode to all the way into next week and I bet it wont happen until Friday of next week.
I am willing to entertain this show at this time and see how it fares with the TRP race.
Loved your post and yeah music could have been better but it's ok and yeah main thing is the trp yaar and channels trp ke chakkar mein show ki band Bajate hai I really want this show to continue with its current storyline without trp pressure hopefully😃
