This was a fantastic episode - different from all the rhona-dhonas. Everybody knows that Jyoti ain't gonna warm things up w/ Kabir out of a misplaced loyalty to Pankaj, and that only increases the risk of her getting hurt even more. So it's good that Mr Halaat, who normally messes w/ Jyoti by things like making her dance for Brij or Pankaj, is now doing her some good, for a change.
The phone conversation @ the start was a good start, where Jyoti finally starts liking Kabir's idea's and roadmap to prosperity for all members of the group. Of course, Padma overhearing all this can't muster the courage to say anything to Jyoti, so she decides to go and snitch to KK. Today, unlike other days, KK outdid himself while standing up for Jyoti - asking Padma inconvenient and pointed questions, like would she be willing to forego Jyoti working in lieu of her not seeing Kabir? I particularly liked his retort that people even had problems w/ Sita-ji.
Poonam - finally Padma finds it in her to scold her for something - I was under the impression that it was beyond her. And all these days, she was trying to get Deepu to accept a job from her father's connections - why doesn't she step this up now, when the conditions are so much better for it? Deepu threatening to leave the house was interesting - seems like the prediction of some that he may become a ghar jamai may come to fruition. Incidentally, one thing worth noting - the old Deepu - the one who tried to cheat Panchi - would have been an ideal hubby for Poonam, while the reformed Deepu - the one who decided that he was not worth Panchi - would have been the ideal hubby for Panchi.
After all that, Deepu asks Jyoti not to go out w/ Kabir, and tells her that they'll all make do w/ a roti less? As I noted in another thread, Deepu doesn't have a job either, so if Jyoti were to quit, they'd be eating nothing! And Deepu's promise to Jyoti that once he gets a job, she won't need to work is totally hollow. As it is, Poonam already gives Sushma grief on being dependent on Deepu, and if Jyoti were to be as well, then there'd be no end to it. So really, Deepu, stfu. And what's w/ this spying on Jyoti after finding out about the movie trip? Deepu is out of a job, and he thinks it's worth spending Rs whatever to shadow Jyoti all around town? 😕😡
Back to Jyoti-Kabir, I loved how despite her best of efforts, she was forced to go w/ him in the end. Why can't she just be honest (like she was w/ Mahesh-ji) and tell Kabir her entire situation, so that at least, she has his co-operation in how much he sees her? But I guess common sense is absent from the Sharma gene pool (I sure hope Uday & Kabir compensate for it) and so Jyoti tells him nothing.
Also, I thought Raghunathgarh was the name of an actual place, rather than someone's house, and looking for it on Google maps, it seems to be a place NW of Jaipur (see my link and the accompanying map). In which case, would it be a 3 hour drive? Kabir & Jyoti would have been better off taking a train. In any case, if a place is a 3 hour drive by car, is Jyoti mad that she'll drive that distance on her scooty? For one thing, she's pregnant, and can't handle that sort of a long drive, and for another, refueling would be a problem itself. But it was funny that they were travelling in a convertable Jeep, where everything they did could be seen, like Kabir removing something from Jyoti's eye, which to Deepu looked like him kissing her and she being only too happy to be kissed 😉😆👏
Once outside the city, network would be a problem, but why didn't Jyoti think of calling home before the trip and telling KK (not Padma, not Deepu, not Dadi) that she was going to Raghunathgarh, and was w/ Kabir on work related matters, but would be late? Now, they are in a perfectly understandable situation, but it's again up to others to believe them. But it's definitely funny how Jyoti & Kabir are forced to spend the night out, and even if they take a hotel w/ separate rooms (where izzat would trump saving money), they'd still be under a cloud of suspicion. Also, since Jyoti is already pregnant, why would she fear even sharing the same room w/ Kabir? It's not like 1 month later, she'll go to him telling him that she's expecting their baby.
But again, I love how mr halaat is forcing the 2 of them together. Jyoti would do well to think about him, evaluate him, talk to him and openly discuss everything that's happened in her life to date, and determine whether he's the right guy for her (finally)!!! And may enough such episodes happen b4 Jyoti decides that her best way out is to marry him. ❤️😍
